One thing I loved about this animal's inclusion was just how obscure the animal was. I live to consider myself to be well up to date on current scientific knowledge, and this asian ceratopsian had completely evaded my detection until this animal was confirmed to be in the film. Considering the scope the series has over the general audience, it's nice to see more than long-time favorites get a shot at the big screen, especially those outside North America which get even less coverage. Besides that I did like the animal in film. I was put off by the hyper shrink-wrapped skull, but it has since grown on me and is just another example of Ingen/Masrani's genetic manipulation in action. Also to clarify, Sinoceratops is significant as it is the only member of "Ceratopsidae" from Asia. There have been plenty of other known ceratopsians, but they are from more basal groups (such as Psitacosaurus) and a sister clade to Ceratosidae; Protoceratopsidae. The most distinguishing feature about Ceratopsidae is that it contains all the big horned ceratopsians people are more familiar with, including both chasmosaurines and centrosaurines. The naming semantics DO get a bit confusing, the most important thing to remember are how the classification grouping end in their name, as that usually tells you if you're looking at the family, group, or any other type of classification.
When the movie was being promoted, Sino became my favorite Fallen Kingdom dinosaur out of all the dinosaurs. The fact it fights Carnotaurus was amazing, Sino is definitely my favorite Ceratopsian
I'm not going to lie here when i watched jurassic world fallen kingdom and saw the fight of the Carno and sino I was really shocked at the size difference I personally think that the Carno was pretty small compared to the sino. Now don't get me wrong the Carno did look big but there was just something about that scene that just made me think that the Carno is pretty small.
The Sinoceratops was quite a huge surprise for me since I barely remember hearing about it years ago. It's design is very unique. Those holes in their frills confused me for a while. Anyways I also remember the Stegosaurus in the Lost World Novel licking Sarah Harding and it had popped into my mind when I watched the Sinoceratops licking Owen. The toys were supposed to be Sinoceratops but they were clearly a Pachyrhinosaurus. Anyway pin me. I watched the whole video.
Seeing these Guys were a new intro to the JW series, and the design for them is fun! Also to see him/her take down a Carnotaurus before being blown away by the 🌋😱 I wanna see more of this dinosaur and his cousin Triceratops together! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Fun video!
I asked myself that same question but apparently there is some sort of difference between Ceratopsian and something different from Ceratopsid? I'm not sure how they seem to be grouping these to be honest. I used 3 sources, (Prehistoric Wildlife, Paleontology World and a Jurassic Park wiki) but more than likely something in there is wrong with that classification
@@KlaytonFioriti It's probably the same thing as tyrannosauroid and tyrannosaur with tyrannosauroid being the larger, broader which includes more basal animals that are related to but not considered to be the same as the later more derived animals. In this example, Dilong and Yutyrannus are tyrannosauroids but not tyrannosaurs while on the other hand, T. rex and Albertasaurus are both tyrannosauroids and tyrannosaurs.
This was indeed an interesting animal. I love the ceratopsian dinosaurs but there oddly never felt much variety, at least in terms of new animals. This one was left field and a wonderful addition to see in the series.
The Carnotaurus vs Sinoceratops fight is a reference to Disney’s Dinosaur when the Carnotaurus attacked a Pachyrhinosaurus which is related to Sinoceratops. The dinosaur was originally a pachyrhinosaurus until they changed it the last minute to sinoceratops which is why the mattel "sinoceratops" looks like the pachyrhinosaurus
They did a great job introducing the sino. It's such a robust addition to the franchise, got a lot of meaningful screen time in which is could really shine. Screen time which cemented its place amongst the collective dinosaur knowledge of us would be paleontologists. Besides, they gave it a beautiful aesthetic in terms of colours and shape. Love it!
I love these dinosaurs!! They look like a cross between a Triceratops and a Styracosaurus! It's an awesome creature! Never thought it was a real animal!😊😊
The sinoceratops is the most interesting and unexpected dinosaur in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and in the whole franchise. Before Fallen Kingdom was even planned, no one had ever mentioned about the sinoceratops, and to see a completely new, unexpected, never-mentioned-before creature appear for the very first time in a Jurassic Park/World movie really sparks my interest. I like how "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" included the Sinoceratops throughout the film. I never knew about this dinosaur beforehand, so this was very special. I like it when dinosaur movies use species that aren't very famous in pop culture.
Just like all the other new animals in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (except the Indoraptor), I really liked the the design of the Sinoceratops, but I felt like the creature itself was underutilized, as in it was not used enough in the film in my opinion, so I think it should be given more chances in the next film. Other than that, it's pretty cool.
They need to add Styracosaurus because that is also a type of dinosaur that is related to yhe ceratopsian family. And it looks badass as well especially with its horns.
Sinoceratops is certainly the most unique looking animal the JW franchise has given me, it's one of my personal favorite ceratopsians. As far as how I personally believe it'd act out in the wild, probably a gentle giant, calm unless provoked.
