OH WOW my dad has been gone a very long time now but boy that brought some great memories back for me fishing with Dad. I am the youngest of 10 children & at 72 still love Fishing & Crabbing. Thanks Heaps. Cheers Denise- Brisbane
I am so glad the video brought back good memories. I also spent many hours walking the beaches fishing for whiting with my dad as a child, special times. Thank you for sharing your memories. Regards, Brad.
The whole process of whiting fishing pumping for yabbie finding the fish cleaning and cooking is the best therapy out there , i havnt done it in awhile so you no were i be this weekend thanks mate 👍🏼
Great to hear you have some good memories fishing with your dad. Whiting are definitely good eating and lots of fun to catch! I greatly appreciate your comment! 👍
Fantastic! I think that's the very spot where, at 10 years of age, I got in the way of one of Dad's casts and I ended up with the hook, barb and all, through my thigh. (Still have the scar to this day.) All good, it was ripped out and I continued on fishing and carried a rod, yabbie pump and esky 3klms back through neck deep water. Can't recall a ruler ever being taken back in the day. 😉
It is amazing the lasting memories that are created from time spent fishing as a child. We tell the stories throughout our adult life and in your case a a little souvenir on the thigh to support your fishing adventures. Thanks for taking time to share your memories!👍
Some true elbow slapper's mixed in with that catch. Theres definitely something special about that form of fishing, thanks again for sharing. I have tried the northern beaches (bushy, saunders, balgal ) without much sucess, definitely worth another visit. You have inspired me to go and have another try. Thanks 👍
It can be a true challenge at times to find the whiting in good numbers. Lots of fun when you finally do! Good luck with the fishing! Thanks for your comment!👍
Brought back memories of my father, who we lost last year at the age of 95. Up until he was 85, he would go whiting fishing 5 days out of 7 walking for miles. Loved his whiting. Thanks for another great video.!!!👍🎣🦐🦀
Beautiful memories you have of your father. I am sure he would always return from fishing with a story to share with you. Thanks for sharing your memories!👍
Gday mate how good is that small effort for a great return cant get fresher than that , heshan bag now thats a long forgotton way to keep your catch cool great video again take care .
It doesn’t seem that long age a hessian bag was an essential piece of fishing equipment for extended sessions walking the beaches fishing for whiting and a bonus flathead or bream. Now I am just looked at like I’m an old bloke who can’t afford a proper fishing bag!😀 Cheers
I moved to Townsville nearly 2 years ago and haven't been able to catch much at all. Finally caught an edible flathead on the weekend with my nephews but local knowledge must be the key. If you ever need somebody to hold the camera or do drone footage for you, I'm happy to tag along to learn where to fish. :)
Well done catching the flathead with your nephew! Learning where and when to fish in a location your not familiar with is very challenging. Good luck with the fishing! Thanks for your comment!👍
Awesome vid and lovely fish, We must be around the same Age, My mum and Dad tort me to catch Whiting on Teewah beach, Thanks for sharing bought back great memory's
Great to hear the video bought back good memories of time spent with your parents. I really enjoyed making this video and it is my pleasure to share. Thanks heaps for sharing your memories!👍
Ahh the memories, northern beaches, winter, offshore wind ,clear water, peeled prawn, keep nothing under 30cm,odd fish over 40,great little scrappers on 2kg.cooked them exactly as you have,no better eating fish in my opinion and you don't need a tackle shop to enjoy it.I swear i could smell those fillets frying.
I was thinking I might be in for catching the bonus flathead as well. Next time I fish this location I will put my efforts into flathead! Thanks for your support!👍
Oh yes Brad i certainly did enjoy it, I’ve got the same memories of fishing for Whiting in the Wagonga inlet at Narooma on the South Coast of NSW. My father and I would pump for yabbies and fish the sand flats. Thanks for bringing that wonderful memory of fishing with my dad whose also no longer with me. 👍🏻
That is good to know! The whiting were not of a consistent good size so I had to pick through lots of little ones for a feed. Thanks for your comment!👍
another great video. thanks Brad. i just notice you dont have any hashtags in your descriptions. hashtags will help drive more searches, traffic and clicks to your videos. maybe use #greatfishing , #mudcrabs , #australia or whatever popular keywords you want to use. have a Great Weekend
Loved hearing you reminisce of where your love of the outdoors started. Has it changed much over the years? I can remember taking my lads whiting fishing and the excitement when they got a bite. Every kid should get a $10 Kmart fishing kit and be taken for a day of fun. (might even be better than Xbox) Just had to catch a crab, no pot required. I bet you were keeping an eye out as you walked through that water. I have to say the old wet hessian bag cooler was my favourite thing, my old man always had hessian bags when we went fishing.
I have never lost my motivation for the outdoors and fishing! The only change is the older I get the more I realise what I don’t know about fishing and the environment! I think a cheap fishing rod in the hands of all kids is a great idea. There is so many wonderful life long memories and experiences to be gained! Thanks for sharing your memories with your boys!👍
There are many locations in North Queensland that offer similar fishing opportunities as this. Hope you enjoy your time visiting this region. Thanks for taking time to comment!😉
It is a great way to fish and usually very rewarding! There certainly were three huts many years ago at this spot! It was only accessible by permission through a locked gate when I was a kid. Thanks for watching!👍
It is always a good reminder to us all to be mindful of crocodiles in Northern Australia! I personally get nervous wading into the water at all times up here! Thanks for your comment!👍
I am glad the kids like the cook ups! There is something truely special gained as a child from time spent on a beach fishing or just playing around. It definitely creates lasting memories. Great to hear you too have many good memories!👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed!👍
Many blessings and thanks for sharing your special moments with your folks. #toodeadly 😎🎣

Do you drive across the flats to get there? Ive been there once but was abit of a mission.
It's an area I'm very mindful of the tides and prefer not to drive across the salt flats. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Brad 👍

keep it up man, love watching you fish.
Thanks for watching I greatly appreciate your support!👍
I don't fish much anymore but I preferred to use squirt worms for whiting and nipper for bream. You did pretty well with the nippers.
That is good to know! The whiting were not of a consistent good size so I had to pick through lots of little ones for a feed. Thanks for your comment!👍

Awesome video mate 👍 those whiting fillets look delicious 🤤
They were delicious! I really enjoyed sitting down and eating the whiting while I was making the video. Thanks for your comment!👍
Yabbies are a great all round bait mate. I dont mind whiting they are nice to eat just painful to debone.
Yabbies sure are an effective bait on a variety of species! Definitely some patience required when cleaning whiting!👍Cheers
I’m not a fisherman and still love your videos. Maybe I need to give it a shot 🤔. I’m learning a lot.
You should definitely give fishing a try!
It is a good excuse to be outdoors and avoid all the jobs we should be doing!😉
Glad you enjoy the videos!👍
Another superb video mate! I wish I knew were you were for this but I'll be exploring up there soon!
There are many locations in North Queensland that offer similar fishing opportunities as this. Hope you enjoy your time visiting this region. Thanks for taking time to comment!😉
As always great to watch easy bait gathering and whiting fishing
Also is this spot down near where 3 old fishing huts use to be
It is a great way to fish and usually very rewarding! There certainly were three huts many years ago at this spot! It was only accessible by permission through a locked gate when I was a kid. Thanks for watching!👍
Im sure ya dont need me to tell you to look out for those snappin handbags!.
It is always a good reminder to us all to be mindful of crocodiles in Northern Australia! I personally get nervous wading into the water at all times up here! Thanks for your comment!👍
It's all so simple, so why do we continually make it harder on ourselves?? Great way to spend a day😆😆
Too true, it is all so simple and meant to be enjoyed! Thanks for your comment!👍
I'll bet those little whiting are tasty.
They sure are good eating! Thanks for your comment!👍
