This reminds me of how Emily was portrayed in calling all engines with her whole thing that she doesn’t want to share a shed with anyone, but after Thomas left she realized how lonely it felt with no one with her. At least that’s the vibe I get from it
If you ever wanted to integrate Emily into The Railway Series, then that backstory is exactly what I imagined! Really like the fact that you took more inspiration from the history of her basis here.
In hindsight, no matter how well she got along with the other engines, it was quite odd how she didn't feel like she'd be worthy of sharing a shed with the likes of James, Edward or even Henry, and her self esteem of a royal at times does check out. A lot I've seen haven't truly focused on the entitled side of Emily and this captures it so well. I'm getting a gist of when CAE is meant to take place in your idea of Sodor history. To think it took Thomas' sleep whistling to change her mind. The very fact Emily is my favourite makes this automatically in a hypothetical top 10 of your stories.
This is a great story. Putting Gordon with Emily is something that should have happened way more often than it actually did. Love the use of their “real” backstories it really puts them in the real world
In the words of Snoop Dogg: “this motherfucker don’t miss!” Your characterisation of Emily is probably the best there is. An express engine well past their prime, yet unwilling to let them days go. & it’s only Gordon - an engine from the same blood - to open her eyes to what truly matters in life. Love this Love this as always, Lemmy & have a merry Christmas
Apologies Lemmy, I just came back from watching the glorious 'Arcane merchant'. Now, we get a lovely view into Emily and Percy's friendship. For a 'regal'engine, your Emily is quite the character dare I say for being a queen. Furthermore, since she was built in 1870s she would have more experiencing views on the world then Edward. She's a bit lonely, poor thing. She needs the light to shine on her, piece and quiet is her thing. In your canon, Emily is Gordon's grandmother. Wonderful job Lemmy! If I may ask, what year does this take place?
@MaximusGarcia-j9p Perhaps, in the future. There will be a new train show with a whole originality of its own with locomotives from the past telling their stories from the past to the younger locomotives in the future. A new company will understand it's originality and give it a new and improvement. Overall, it will be realistic and for a general audience.
Would love to hear a longer story about Gordon and Emily!

Agreed time to time it’s nice to see Gordon talking sense instead of “I’m the biggest I’m the greatest I pull the express”
Fantastic story! I love tales with Emily, who is chronically underused!
This is a nice mix of Emily's character
Man I'm a bit sad 12 Days Of Stories is ending soon, it's been a great series

I feel like this Emily is different, more like the one from Calling All Engines. She is like Gordon is a way.
Honestly idk why no one ever made a gordon and emily story before. Wonderful as usual lemming
Is she supposed to be No. 1 or a second survivor?
are these stories free to adapt?

Really interesting take on emily there! The show never touched on her basis, which is a shame considering how amazing of an engine she is.
Lovely story on Emily but why is she so stuck up like Gordon in a way I never imagined that she was more of a motherly figure
Amazing
