Why do they need to keep all these old players you’re just kicking the can down the road for them
They literally can’t cut/trade them. The Saints have restructured all those deals so that the players get all the money as a signing bonus and the cap hit is spread over several years in the future. The problem that arises is that means there’s no way to get off that dead cap hit because the money’s already been paid. If they cut/trade a player, and cutting any of the guys they’re paying significant money makes it impossible to get under the cap. They do that by restructuring and kicking the can down the road.
Its gonna be awesome in 3 years when the saints have no cap space or players from all these void years
They were trying to win another SB. Sean Payton enjoyed paying all the win-now players and bailed when that didn't happen. He knew they were doomed for years to come, what piece of crap.

I agree with everything except cutting Jameis he has great chemistry with the team and we have one of the worst training rooms a lot of players and former players have injury issues in Nola if Carr was to get hurt it go out for a few weeks Jameis can step into that role
