Black and White Tegu is in my top 3 reptiles. Ive always wanted a larger Lizard that isn't too much to handle and they are definitely it. A tortoise is my number 1.
My money-is-no-object dream reptile would probably be a shingleback skink. My if-it-weren't-a-terrible-pet dream reptile would be a Solomon Island skink. And my if-the-care-requirements-weren't-ridiculous dream reptile would probably be a caiman lizard.
I agree. My other one would be a tegu. I dont have the space, money, or skills to care for one currently. If all that was opposite, I would love to get one!
I would definitely want Sulcata Tortoises, but would want to live in an area that had a warmer climate. Rhode Island is great in the summer and I have a huge yard, but the season can be short. The Leopard Tortoises tolerate there garage winter enclosure, but they love being outside.
They're actually pretty popular in my area of Texas because you can keep them outside with just a few heat lamps in the winter and they manage the fields and cacti that grows like weeds. Not uncommon to see one or two at the nearby ranches.
This may not sound as much as a compliment as I am trying to make it sound, but here we go. Out of the 106 channels I am subscribed to, you are my second favorite. You’re probably like, “why are they telling me this if I’m not even their first?” or something like that. Well the channel you are second to is Snake Discovery, and I mean, come on. I haven’t been watching you for very long, but I think that you are really knowledgeable and you make learning about reptiles so fun and interesting. Your content isn’t the best to binge watch, but the amount that you post has the perfect amount of time in between each video in order to capture my attention. You really are an amazing content creator and you deserve so many more subscribers than you currently have. Keep up the amazing work! P.S. Sorry about the dwarf comment last night, to a nerd that is actually a compliment.
My uncle has an Asian water monitor and it is a beautiful, scary beast. I enjoy reptiles but that thing does scare me. It loves my uncle and they will go on walks together. It's pretty funny to see it harnessed and on a leash. Every time I see it, I am amazed by it's size and beauty.

A green tree python is my number one dream snake. They're just so cool looking and you can actually see them in their enclosure as opposed to other snakes that hide a lot. I just don't have anywhere near enough snake experience and funds/space to have one yet.
Dude you listed everything I want! I have one already on your list. Argentine b&w tegu. Honestly probably the most rewarding reptile I have. She has been puppy dog tame and a sweetheart since day one. It's a shame how much they cost in Canada!

Absolutely no limits at all? Easy. Allosaurus. But since we haven't quite reached that level of cloning yet, realistic no limits? Argentine Tegu. And all the snakes.
If you’re gonna move to the U.S for real I highly recommend the Pacific Northwest, similar climate to Ontario but not as bad of winters, plus I’m pretty sure you can keep basically anything in Washington or Oregon, and we also have rubber/rosy boas here
for someone who has never owned any reptiles, i have a somewhat modest list 5. Japanese rat snake, this will be my first step into reptiles i think they are just awesome it took me a long time to discover them and that they are very beginner friendly snake 4. Japanese/Chinese cave geckos 3. Mandarin rat snake, they are just stunning 2. Axanthic Mandarin rat snake, that just another level beauty 1. I would want a cherry head tortoise I’m from North America we’re during summer it’s super hot but I just can’t afford a big enough enclosure for something like that unless it’s a huge bin
keep up the great work! I love your vids. I have a tangerine Leopard gecko I got about 3 months ago and you helped me learn more about them before I got him
My top five list: 5.iguana(either green or rhino) 4. green tree python 3.white and black tegu(it’s so cute and chubby) 2.alligator snapping turtle 1. Dwarf caiman/any crocodilian
Green Iguana's are very big and can be very big dicks... my stepsister's best friend tried pawning one off on me. Nope. Also Common Snapping turtles are vastly superior to Alligator's- a rock that can bite appendages off vs. a huge turtle with intelligence, more active and mine knew my voice or maybe it's it's name and has never tried to hurt me.
Pretty much all my dream reptiles are snakes, save for a snapping turtle (would love to have one some day). Sand boa, BCI, woma python, garter snake, Burmese python. I just really like snakes. Great video! It’s always nice to see more Canadian reptile keepers!
Good list! I Own 2 tegus which are prolly my pride and joy but my list would be Cuban rock/rhino iguanas, black throat monitor, Asian water monitor, caiman lizard, and either a G. tortoise or an Aldabra. And I gotta add an eastern water dragon in there too somewhere
my dream reptile is definitely a Boelen’s Python. I did an internship in the reptile department of a zoo, got to work with them, and absolutely fell in love with them
I don't have too many reptiles myself but the ones I do have are by far bucket list critters. Like my morolets crocodile, my giant goldenchild retic, and my pair of atroxs that r gonna breed one day and make my dream combo, albino scaleless atroxs. Oh boy I can't wait
I really hope to see you with an Asian Water Monitor! That would be awesome! Just purchased my first BTS from a breeder and cant wait to see her! I have a 75 gallon tank only sp do I need a smaller take to keep a juve for now or is the 75 fine?
LoL. Come to Michigan. We're like southern Ontario, only in the US. My top 5 dream "If I had no money/space limitations" list would be... #1. Dominican Red Mountain Boa #2. Axanthic pied ball python #3. Rhino Iguana #4. Eastern Indigo Snake #5. Phillipine Sailfin Dragon
@Black ICE They are, but they're also a protected species in the US. You need to get a special permit to own one. And if you come across one in the wild it is illegal to even touch it. Plus I hear they like to poop A LOT and smear it all over their enclosure and themselves.
I want a Black and White Tegu so bad. Unfortunately, it just became illegal for you to keep one in the state of Florida, where I live. RIP my heart :')
a few that i can think of are albino ball pythons, musk turtles, blue tongue skinks, asian vine snakes, greem tree pythons, brazilian rainbow boas, mangrove snakes and burmese pythons
1. False water cobra 2. Crocodile skink 3. Argentine b&w tegu 4. Common bci boa 5. Hognosed Those are my top 5. I'd have gotten a hognosed but here in bc you need a CAS permit to own one :(
My current reptile plan on getting when I have some room list: rhino iguana, tegu (probably red), dumerils boas breeding pair. If there were no restrictions I'd totally get a komodo dragon and a galapagos tortoise because they have been two of my favorite reptiles basically my whole life. Not realistic and. However if I'm ever somewhere warm enough I'm definitely getting a sulcata, I love them!
I don't think I'll have space where I live now, but I'm majorly interested in a 3 to 5 foot monitor species. Something in the range of peach throat or quince. Captive bred preferably. But if not, I'll get some farmed ones to breed. I also like black tree monitors and I have seen those captive bred. There's also the omnivorous tree monitors from the philippines with more of a tegu diet but they're a lot harder to find. I would like to breed them since there's little to no captive bred population.
My favorite snake of all time is Boa Constrictors, hence why I got one 3 months ago but my dream reptile would be a Perenti Monitor (Varanus giganteus), but an Argus is my 2nd favorite.
I think you had a problem letting go of the limits of your living situation. In my list there would probably be filled with mostly venomous snakes. I'll never get one, but many of them are so gorgeous! Spiny Bush Vipers, King Cobras, Red Spitting Cobra, Boomslang, Black Mamba... Wouldn't mind a green sea turtle if there were truely no limits. And a bell's phase lace monitor. And an earless monitor. And anything that looks like a dragon.
I've learned about the idea of super dwarf retics so that might be kinda neat to get... But I want my first reptile to just be a Children's or spotted python.
I love your videos and also from the Niagara region (NF) I also love tegus!!! I got my chacoan tegu from Tails and Scales (they got her from Ty Parks) 2 years ago and she was $500.00. She is a very large gentle giant and the best lizard in my opinion :)
On my dream list would be a Fiji iguana (if they were legal in the US) or a pilbara monitor, a pink tongue skink, a hog island boa, a super dwarf retic and Mexican black king snake. I already have my #1 dream snake, my anaconda morph male hognose snake ❤ him!
Do we know why Rhino Iguanas are illegal in our Northern Maple Land? They are very cool. I don't have any reptiles yet (planning on getting a hognose in the next year or so, gotta make space and acquire all supplies first), but here are a small top 3 of reptiles I know I can't have for now and might never own: 3- Black and White Tegu 2- Mexican Alligator Lizard 1- Asian Water Monitor
Here in Maple land the law isn't the issue, it's just an import/export law to protect the species. no matter how many beaver tails I pay, I can't bring one into the country
If money, handling training, permits, legal issues, space requirements , weren't in the way I'd have. . . 1: Gaboon Viper. They're just mesmerizingly beautiful animals. 2: Dwarf Caman, the coolest looking crocodilians there are IMO. 3: Savannah Monitor, I know kevin doesn't like them, but I used to have one and I loved it, and I want another one. 4: Brazilian Rainbow Boa: should be obvious why. 5: Super Dwarf Retic. All the fun of a Retic, but in a reasonably sized snake. 6: Burmese Python, another one I don't have any more, and I really wish I could get another. 7: Basilisk Lizard, they're just cool lizards lol. 8: Argentine B&W Tegu, cause I'm envious of GUS GUS! LOL 9: BEL Ball Python, I currently have a normal, and really want a BEL, but I just haven't the Space for more reptiles. 10: To own my own giant ranch in texas that I own and operate as a reptile zoo/rescue.
Probably my top 10 if I had ABSOLUTELY ZERO LIMITATIONS would be, in no particular order... 1) king cobra 2) reticulated python, maybe a dwarf or super dwarf, I just really like 10-12 foot snakes 3) aisian water monitor 4) diamondback terrapin or red eared slider 5) stormtrooper ball python 6) b&w tegu 7) Tree monitors 8) savannah monitor 9) aisian vine snake 10) tailless whip scorpion
My top 3 would be: Yellow anaconda Super dwarf/dwarf retic Suriname/peruvian long tail boa With their prices right now, its really not realistic for me to purchase and house them. In the future, and I really would like to get a parrot (maybe a conure) but I would only do it if I work at home.
You should make a video about snakes that are good for beginner breeders or maybe just reptiles in general that are easy to breed, and when I say easy to breed I also mean like that they do well in a moderate sized rack system
You forgot black throat monitor, emerald tree boa, eyelash viper, madagascar tree boa, boelens python and an octopus. Agree about water monitor, tegu, and burm.
Love the video! 💚🐍💚 Have you considered borrowing a couple of the animals you don't have or visiting a nearby keeper for presentation? Also are the any alternatives to Rhino Iguanas that you'd recommend? Thanks again!

Shadows Reptiles also has some baby cuban rock iguanas
A monitor hands down...
Asian Water Monitor for me! Agree!! Big guys and way more tractable than Niles, Croc monitors etc. Second to that, Dumeril's monitor.
I've learned about the idea of super dwarf retics so that might be kinda neat to get...
But I want my first reptile to just be a Children's or spotted python.
5.green iguana
4.blue tegu
3.kommodo dragon
2.any alligator or gharial or or or or saltwater or nile crocodille
1.alligator snapping turtle
I love your videos and also from the Niagara region (NF) I also love tegus!!! I got my chacoan tegu from Tails and Scales (they got her from Ty Parks) 2 years ago and she was $500.00. She is a very large gentle giant and the best lizard in my opinion :)
very nice! I'll see if they have any still
It’s so funny hearing that because I live in the Miami Florida area and we have Tegus everywhere😂
On my dream list would be a Fiji iguana (if they were legal in the US) or a pilbara monitor, a pink tongue skink, a hog island boa, a super dwarf retic and Mexican black king snake. I already have my #1 dream snake, my anaconda morph male hognose snake ❤ him!
these are all amazing reptiles!
Do we know why Rhino Iguanas are illegal in our Northern Maple Land?
They are very cool.
I don't have any reptiles yet (planning on getting a hognose in the next year or so, gotta make space and acquire all supplies first), but here are a small top 3 of reptiles I know I can't have for now and might never own:
3- Black and White Tegu
2- Mexican Alligator Lizard
1- Asian Water Monitor
Here in Maple land the law isn't the issue, it's just an import/export law to protect the species. no matter how many beaver tails I pay, I can't bring one into the country
i would love a water monitor too but ill be happy with a tree or ackie monitor
ackies are amazing
The must have mini velociraptor 😂
LOL
9: BEL Ball Python, I currently have a normal, and really want a BEL, but I just haven't the Space for more reptiles.
10: To own my own giant ranch in texas that I own and operate as a reptile zoo/rescue.
My local reptile shop has 2 rhino iguanas for like 550 bucks, I would’ve had no idea they were illegal in Canada.
maybe the coolest reptile I will never own
Probably my top 10 if I had ABSOLUTELY ZERO LIMITATIONS would be, in no particular order...
1) king cobra
2) reticulated python, maybe a dwarf or super dwarf, I just really like 10-12 foot snakes
3) aisian water monitor
4) diamondback terrapin or red eared slider
5) stormtrooper ball python
6) b&w tegu
7) Tree monitors
8) savannah monitor
9) aisian vine snake
10) tailless whip scorpion
King cobras are awesome!
My number 1 would be an indego snake which are super rare here in the UK and hugely expensive when you find one
My top 3 would be:
Yellow anaconda
Super dwarf/dwarf retic
Suriname/peruvian long tail boa
With their prices right now, its really not realistic for me to purchase and house them. In the future, and I really would like to get a parrot (maybe a conure) but I would only do it if I work at home.
The video literally just started and the tropical shirt hella thru me off😅🤦🏻♀️.. Back to the video
hahaha, we had a last of the season heatwave on Friday so I busted out the beach shirt
You should make a video about snakes that are good for beginner breeders or maybe just reptiles in general that are easy to breed, and when I say easy to breed I also mean like that they do well in a moderate sized rack system
1. Blue tongue skink
2. Brazilian rainbow boa
3. Bullsnake
4. Uromastyx
5. Leachie
I feel the exact same way about burms vs retics. I'd take a burm over a retic any day.
same!!
Do you think you could include star tortoises in one of your next videos? They are super cool and I haven't seen many people cover them
Love your list Like everything on it Especially #1
Thanks for watching!
You forgot black throat monitor, emerald tree boa, eyelash viper, madagascar tree boa, boelens python and an octopus. Agree about water monitor, tegu, and burm.
My top five in no particular order. Caiman Lizard, green anaconda, some kind of crocodilian, some kind of large monitor or tegu and an olive python.
Totally would love to have a caimon lizard, black throat monitor, a cow retic
great list
Love the video! 💚🐍💚
Have you considered borrowing a couple of the animals you don't have or visiting a nearby keeper for presentation? Also are the any alternatives to Rhino Iguanas that you'd recommend?
Thanks again!
I would recommend a tegu or if you still want a iguana a spiny tailed iguana! They only get about the size of a beardie.
