    @ 0:50 before you remove the caliper, have a second person stand on the brake pedal to break the axle nut free. This is mentioned @ 4:15, but to avoid putting the brakes back together, break the axle nut free right after you remove the tire. Your welcome 😊

      Or you can stick a screwdriver you don't care about into the rotor cooling fins and let it bump into the caliper bracket if you don't have a second person to help. I just sheered a driver in half the other day. Used a Walmart hypertough and it survived and didn't even get a bend in it!

    I had my 03 accord sit for two years and recently had an incident that left my driver side front knuckle in desperate need of changing. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do it, with your video it was actually pretty easy once I bought the tools.

    Last tip. Make sure to grease your ball joint pullers threading before you crank on it. At least some spray so it dosent chew up the threads. It will last much longer if you end up having to put some force on it. Ive only had 1 stick like that before but its worth pointing out.

    Another tip for th hub screws (they are put on to keep the rotors on during manufacturing so not nessasary to go back on.) If you dont have the impact driver use a philips head and tap on th back of it whipe trying to unscrew it at the same time. I dont put em back in because iv had to drill some out before. Not worth the hassle.

    • @tg8150
      @tg8150 2 года назад +5

      Why? You’re not changing anything? Nothing is being adjusted, just bolts being removed. No need for an alignment that I can see. Especially on a car that old. Also, why not just remove the caliper bracket vs removing the caliper and pads separate? That’s a complete waste of time.

    • @olenaerhardt7725

      I removed rust and lubricated with Film Fluid Rust Protection and Lubricant (fm Amazon) that axle end. Maybe it is better to add some grease (I saw many examples of that in other films). I think it should be lubricated, but maybe grease it is too heavy lubricant for that connection.

    I love how you so-called mechanics always use the most expensive tools hardly anyone watching this will ever buy. I simply used a 16-in ball joint separator remover too from Harbor Freight ($10) and with a couple taps of my mallet it separated easily enough. Q: Why didn't you remove the entire caliber intact and set aside versus completely disassembling it? Unless you're planning on replacing the brake pads, leave this stuff alone!

    do not drill the hole larger than it already is. If you do, you loose the super tight fit needed, and the sensor will vibrate and fail, giving you an abs light.

  • @mangakey
    @mangakey Год назад

    Yeah it's a pretty straight forward job though I don't know about the "basic hand tools part" You need to have a pretty decent selection of tools... ( more than you get in any standard kit)
    Most people will end up struggling to get the axel nut off without an impact ( it can be done I've done it before but man just get an impact)... also most people don't have sockets 28mm and up impact sockets... So it will test your tools... but the actual job is pretty straight forward.. 1-2 hours tops...removal and install...
