      That’s simply not true. The US, China, Australia, The UK and Canada own almost all the mines in DRC, exploiting thousands, including children. They by far are the most responsible for the mining catastrophe in DRC. Why would they need Rwanda to steal the resources when they own them themselves?

    Hi, my Dad’s a Congolese Tutsi. I don’t condone everything the M23 has done and my heart bleeds for the Congolese civilians caught in between the M23 and FDLR. I’m surprised this did not discuss FDLR, genocide killers from the 1994 Tutsi Genocide that escaped into DRC due to Operation Turquoise orchestrated by the French Mitterand’s government at the time. They are the reason M23 exist in the first place. The FDLR has been killing Congolese Tutsi ever since, with no consequences. M23, made up of Congolese Tutsis, was created as a result. A lot of Congolese people say that they want “Rwandans to get back to where they came from” talking about the Congolese Tutsis, many of which have been in DRC since before its borders were drawn, when it seems like the obvious answer is to send back the FLDR to Rwanda to face justice. They are actually Rwandan, and it makes no sense that they were allowed to integrate into DRC’s army! I wish the rampant anti-Tutsi hate in DRC (I’ve seen so much straight up genocidal talk) could stop blinding Tshisekedi and so many like him to the obvious answer: send FDLR back to Rwanda to face justice, ensure that Congolese Tutsi discrimination is addressed (they are still not allowed to vote it’s insane), get rid of the corruption, and kick out the American & European forces pillaging their resources. DRC people have suffered enough and deserve peace, healing, and be the sole owners of their resources.
    Edit: I have seen a lot of people claiming that Western Europe, North America, Australia and China are going through Rwanda to steal DRC’s resources. The reality though is that they don’t need Rwanda to pillage DRC. China alone owns most of the mines, where children especially are relentlessly abused and taken advantage of. They are pillaging DRC directly, and have been doing so since the Scramble of Africa, especially Belgium.

    • @Paul-tc7xm
      @Paul-tc7xm 6 месяцев назад +5

      I totally agree, it's a great region. But the rebel groups are the symptom, the routed corruption, government mismanagement, and a fallback to anarchy, are the root issues. Another element to keep in mind, Congo is one of the countries with the highest nbr of millionaires, a seat at parliament is good for 20k $ p/month (the reason why they go crazy when there are elections). Tbh, and this is just my opinion. A country with this low level of political maturity, can't and will never be able to manage a territory as big as the entire EU.

    • @LewisMushotaBilolo
      @LewisMushotaBilolo 6 месяцев назад +3

      I tend to disagree on certain sentiments, Congo has quiet a number of population educated and most of these are in foreign countries because politically it's handicapped, there's no way a country can survive politically and economically if one of it's region has been involved in wars for more than 3 decades. It's likely to be volatile. What Congo needs is a bit of peace so that they can foster or channel their resources on developmental projects other than war. Its not easy to rule a war tone country, let's try to imagine that. Congo need freedom for once at least for a while so that the country can be developed which is not gonna be easy I bet for any Leader.

    • @Paul-tc7xm
      @Paul-tc7xm 6 месяцев назад

      @@LewisMushotaBilolo Thank you for replying. In a courteous manner. I v taken some time of writing the reply out: Corruption Consequences
      1. Stunted Economic Growth: The high level of corruption, as indicated by the DRC's low ranking on the Corruption Perceptions Index, is leading to significant economic inefficiencies. Corruption diverts funds from critical public services to illicit channels, funding/creating a parallel market/economy and severely reducing the effectiveness of government planning and spending. This misallocation of resources could stifle economic growth, with some estimates suggesting DRC losing a major part of it’s GDP annually due to corruption.
      2. Increased Inequality: Corruption exacerbates inequality by disproportionately affecting the poor, who rely more on public services. As resources are siphoned away from essential services, the quality and accessibility of healthcare, education, and other services decline, widening the gap between the rich and the poor.
      Education Consequences
      1. Reduced Economic Productivity: The low access and enrollment rate (67%) in primary education suggests a significant portion of the population may lack basic skills and knowledge. This scenario results in a less educated workforce, reducing overall productivity and economic competitiveness. Studies have shown that an increase of one year in average education levels can increase a country's GDP by up to 10%. In the case of Congo, I wonder what the expected values of growth would be.
      2. Increased Poverty Rates: The completion rate for primary education, alongside high dropout rates due to various challenges, suggests that many individuals will not acquire the necessary education to secure well-paying jobs or the required skills to execute. This lack of education directly correlates with higher poverty rates, as individuals without basic literacy and numeracy skills are less likely to participate in the formal economy. Just saying, the majority of the population lives with less than 2$ a day when per ratio Congo has the most millionaires.
      3. Gender Inequality: The significant gender disparity in literacy rates (77% for males vs. 57% for females) and education access points to broader societal inequalities. Women and girls who are denied education are more likely to experience poverty, early marriage, and limited career opportunities. This not only affects individual women but also has long-term consequences for the country's social and economic development, as gender equality in education has been linked to faster economic growth and improved outcomes for the next generation.
      4. Socio-political Instability: The combination of chronic underfunding in education, leading to a high pupil-teacher ratio (37:1), and the broader issues of corruption could contribute to socio-political instability. A populace that is largely uneducated and perceives the government as corrupt and ineffectual may be more prone to social unrest and less likely to engage in constructive political processes.
      Corruption
      1. Global Rankings: The DRC is often ranked low on the Corruption Perceptions Index published by Transparency International. For example, in recent years, it has consistently ranked near the bottom of the list, indicating a high perception of corruption.
      2. Economic Impact: While quantifying the exact economic cost of corruption is challenging, it's acknowledged that corruption significantly drains resources from public services, contributing to inefficiency and inequality.
      3. Legal and Institutional Frameworks: Efforts to combat corruption have led to the creation of anti-corruption agencies and the enactment of anti-corruption laws. However, the effectiveness of these measures is limited by weak enforcement and systemic challenges.
      Education
      1. Access and Enrollment: Only about 67% of children of primary school age are enrolled in school, according to UNESCO, highlighting significant barriers to education access.
      2. Completion Rates: The completion rate for primary education is similarly low, with significant dropouts due to economic, social, and security challenges.
      3. Quality of Education: With chronic underfunding, the pupil-teacher ratio in primary schools can be as high as 37:1, affecting the quality of education and learning outcomes.
      4. Literacy Rates: The adult literacy rate in the DRC is approximately 77% for males and significantly lower for females, around 57%, reflecting gender disparities and broader educational challenges.

    So the people where save when MONUSCO was there? How long did they actually keep the peace in this war-torn region. Why could they not fulfill their mission "peace keeping" ?
    So, the SADAC mission is regarded as not so effective.
    Which army defeated M23 in 2013?
    Why is Poland - a NATO member - supplying highly sophisticated weapons to Rwanda, while the US demands the departure of all Rwandan army member from Congolese territory?
    Why did the EU signed a MoU with Rwanda concerning raw materials, which are at the heart of this conflict? Why now? Where are those raw materials coming from? Rwanda or DRC?
    Cognitive dissonance everywhere.

    The President of DR Congo make it clear, you guys should add it to your news. he said he will meet Paul Kagame with 1 condition, Rwanda must withdraw his Troops from Congo, the M23 must be camp or put to quarantine as all agreed according to the Peace Plan of Luanda and Naoribi. you guys should add that to your news. without that he will never meet Kagame for a talk. because he is the machine behind that conflict in East of Congo.
    I ask you all to do some research on the Rwandan economy, from 1996 to today, that the period when War break up in DR Congo.
    it is an economical war, Rwanda want that war because the country is gaining and is been build out of the blood of congolese people. all the imperialist (France, uk, Usa, etc.) getting their share that why everyone is so silence of the Genocide in DR Congo.

    Just destabilising and keep Congolese thinking about conflicts and diseases while helping western companies loot Congolese resources and not realise the difference in percentage that they are having, but the biggest issue is all the Rwandan Congolese government and African and UN peacekeepers are partners in this drama and the solution is a Coup and strong national sentiment

    I juz feel the western countries have a bigger hand in this fight, at times i doubt if Rwanda is involved. its like the western want drc and Rwanda to war to each other. For me I'd love Kagame and Tchisekedi to seat together and make a coalition army and fight the same rebels by attacking the rebels from Rwanda and Congolese (using cow horn attack) side than losing our brothers everyday😢. It hurts me see us africans hurt each other and fight each other like animals, yet if we where to come together this continent can be the richest and most developed with the vast resources we have. God please bless africa😭🙏

Tshisekedi had never refused to discuss with Rwanda but rather did he refuse to meet with the M23w it’s not a crisis or an internal conflict but it’s a war of aggression by Rwandan and Ugandan on the Congolese soil.
