In my work room I have a Monacor SP-8/150PRO woofer in my self-designed and self-build labyrinth ported box (9.something litre net volume, tuned to 35 Hz)...now I still have for it a weak amp (pushes into it like 2/3 o the power like it can handle)...the door shakes like crazy on this song :D :D In our daily driver car we have a poineer head unit - it is possible to switch on subwoofer mode for rear speaker outputs, so the rear speakers I wired in series with the front ones and now all speakers are wired to the front speaker outputs, to rear outputs I have wired a subwoofer: 2 old bass speakers from '80s - 15 WRMS / 4 ohms - model: Tesla ARN 5604, they are in an L-ported 33 litre net volume 33 Hz tuned box...If I fold down the rear seats and I open only the drivers door in our garage, on this song the windows on our garage shakes :D :D

It burnt the voice coil because on lower notes a subwoofer can't cool as well as higher notes so it burnt
Get a bigger box and port it. Mount the subwoofer so the magnet is outside of the box and the cone faces in. All that should help.
