Something I've always noticed about Defenders (especially the TD5 ones). They're exceptionally British. They're calm, collected and gentle until something is blocking their way. They gently try to persuade their way past the issue. But if they find themselves a little stuck, they take a small step back and unleash a world of "pissed off" at the problem till it is no longer a problem. If a Defender is stuck, it is only because it hasn't sounded pissed off enough about it yet.
I trust all these rigs are running on extra-heavy duty after market front and rear axle shafts! This video shows this old Series Land Rover owner of 30 years the reason Land Rover went from using leaf spring suspension to coil springs. My old series vehicles, which I've not owned or driven since 1995, could not have done most of the obstacles pictured in this video.
100% bro vdj79 still the most capable and reliable truck to date we work on defenders with 110,000 miles and needs lots of work yet 300,000mile vdj79 rocks up for a oil change and Toyota still make there own engine to date Landrover now use Peugeot chocolate engines same as the ford ranger and every thing is weak shame I loved landrovers as kid but it’s Toyota for me now days
Landcruiser Hj47 Travis spot on. I think a lot of people don’t realize what they’re getting now when they buy a Land Rover/Jaguar. I have a 1996 fzj80 as my daily driver that will probably outlast me
Most would say the 300tdi was the last of the pure ones ...British military wouldn't touch the TD5 because of all the electrics , they stuck with the 300.
pilgrims 4x4 adventure tours exactly. And LR could not offer a solution to suppress the electronic “noise”. Though an Australian company did LR didn’t want to know about it, but that wasn’t the first time they buried their heads in the sand
The military did have some TD5 defenders, mostly down in the Falklands, no issues at all, and their initial concerns were proved to be unfounded, that said they wanted an engine that could be fixed with spanner’s, not a laptop.
Great video, but in fairness their aint much Defender left on those trucks. I've got a Td5 90 and in the 12 years I've had it, I've never managed to get all 4 wheels spinning at the same time. :D
Well I' m sorry but you' ve had it in a wrong way pal or you didn' t discover their capabilities, I have a discovery 300 tdi, not even a td5 and it' s capable of a lot, imagine a tuned td5, they can reach to stupid hp numbers, if I were you I would search td5inside on Facebook ;)
@@MachadooGamer yeah a tuned Td5 really is a weapon! So much extra power and torque on tap make for a completely different driving experience. No point messaging Td5Inside he never gets back to you and his aftercare is shit. Go for someone like Empire Tuning he'll look after you 👍

@papa foodle I can confirm this. Haha

Not the last just probably the last by Landrover. Jeep Wrangler JL, 70 series Landcruiser, And with any luck The Grenadier.
Well Toyota still makes the 70 series Land Cruiser, body on frame, with front solid axles so...there’s that

kizzy p got a 300tdi wolf myself, best defender imo
kizzy p
The TD5 has the best engine.
But the military were also right because the first ecu’s were dying and Land Rover does not sell replacements!
The UK MOD didn’t buy TD5 due to the electrical interference with comms kit and vice versa...not reliability or any other BS

Martyntd5 you’ll be surprised what dual lockers and a tuned td5 will do

This is so much fun
awesome video
Clearly some 300tdis in there
Monsta Defender
Have to wait 3 more years before the Supreme Leaders in the U.S. will allow the Td5 models to be imported
Its such a pity, just the same as importing Humvees to the UK
Bayley Anderson
You can buy them in Germany.
mrcvry wow dude I seriously have to check it out thanks!
Amazing trucks
Top 🔝🔝
Wau!
Como e que isso passa na ipo?
comprare una sacchetta blocca frequenze e metterci il tel dendro

camel troophy coming soon
Umm...Suzuki Jimny, Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, Toyota 70 Series, to name a few you've forgotten
im guessing you didnt notice but this is a video about defenders so why would they film jeeps
It has a Toyota FJ80 suspension :)
Toyota rules 😉
That's a good way to make a Land Rover better, jejejejeje
What are you talking about??
did not you realize?
Sexiest 4x4 ever
I am not keen on single make events there are lots of trucks that can do just as good if not better than the good old Defender Jeeps Toyota etc etc .
🙃
One needs to install at least 3.5L engine and 4 Mud Terrain tyres to achieve the standard off road venture
That is utter rubbish your telling there mate. Simply not true at all
Last of pure 4x4 running on GQ diffs, what a fail haha
"The last of the 4x4"
No no dude, that title belongs to the 300 TDi.
Talking crap.
There is a new kid in town, going to show the defender how its really done. Ineos Grenadier.
