    The best thing I like about you is that you tend to focus exclusively on US colleges. I got my BS in Mechanical Engineering from US in the 90's, and I can tell you that no other country can even come close to the US standards. At present, in a rush to leave Pakistan by hook or by crook, thousands of fellow countrymen are applying to THIRD RATE colleges/universities in Germany and elsewhere. Currently, there is a craze about Germany, not realising that their degrees (except, Technical University, Munich-TUM) are not even worth the paper they are printed on. Also, majority of them are not even recognized by PEC and HEC, consequently, these individuals will never be able to land a job in say UAE and Saudi Arabia due to attestation and recognition issue later on. Maybe, you can make a video on this issue as well. The biggest problem with our people is majority of them are HUD-HARAM, and want what they call in the US, Free Lunch, and don't wanna make the effort. I recently saw a video of an indian who got Assistantship from a professor sitting in india by contacting him through his X channel, this is how much effort they put in. You are among the few pakistanis I really enjoy listening to on youtube. Great effort on your part. Would love to meet you someday ! Take Care.

    Hi Talha. Could you please share some light on the Deferred MBA program. How is getting into deferred MBA different from the normal MBA?

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Abdullah, It is super competitive to get into a deferred MBA program. A couple of people that I taught is the past who got into the deferred MBA program at Sloan and HBS had 760+ GMAT scores and one of them had a patent during his final year of undergrad that google bought for nearly a million dollar and he had a royalty agreement for 10 years on that patent that was expected to bring him an average of 60-70k USD per annum for the next 10 years. The other guy had sold a startup (a SaaS software) for 450K USD in hi junior year of undergrad and was into many multiple extra and co-curricular activities. Very non-typical kind of people get into deferred MBA since these programs don't require any full-time experience etc. so very uniquely placed individuals get in.

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  6 месяцев назад

      hello - since your GPA is low you should strive to do well on the GRE (ideally 162+ in quant and 154+ in verbal). Also work experience that is relevant to your field of Masters in a huge plus in your application. MBA needs around 4-5 years of work experience for admissions and for business analytics you can go without any experience although some experience can add a lot of value. MBA has a lot more career options and higher earnings potential whereas Business analytics is relatively restricted and lower earning field comparatively.

    Talha how can we guide young children's academics in a direction that when they are 18+ they have atleast some ground, laid down, for them to take a good attempt at GREs or GMATs? What subjects to be really focused on? Any tests/ competitions they can attempt to have at least some know how of what/how these tests are?

    • @ali18398
      @ali18398 6 месяцев назад +1

      Any books/ recommendations/ guidlines please? How would you guide a young (10 years old may be) sibling/ cousin?

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  6 месяцев назад +1

      So I always advice people to make their children prepare very hard for the SAT/ACT exam when they are in their O/A-levels (Matric/Inter level). These exams are created by the Americans and are very similar to the type of critical thinking skills that the GRE/GMAT tests at the graduate level.

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  6 месяцев назад +1

      Now for someone who is 10 years old I would advice to focus on the following over the next 4-6 years before preparing for the SAT/ACT exams.
      Key Subjects to Focus On:
      1. Mathematics:
      o Arithmetic: Basic operations, fractions, percentages, ratios.
      o Algebra: Expressions, equations, inequalities, functions.
      o Geometry: Shapes, volumes, coordinate geometry.
      o Data Analysis: Statistics, probability, interpreting graphs and charts.
      Enroll in academically rigorous camps focused on math, science, and writing.Websites like Khan Academy, Coursera, and edX offer free courses on a variety of subjects. Regular practice through platforms like IXL and Brilliant.org is also a huge plus.
      Very important: Encourage participation in math clubs and competitions at all levels.
      2. English Language and Literature:
      o Reading Comprehension: Encourage extensive reading of diverse genres. Novels can help but I personally find scientific literature to be the most effective.
      o Vocabulary: Regular practice through reading and vocabulary-building exercises. One should regularly start using Dictionary.com, subscribe to their vocabulary games/newletters.
      o Writing: Focus on clear, logical, and structured writing. Practice through essays, creative writing, and reports.
      Encourage daily reading habits. Books, newspapers, and magazines tailored to their interests.
      Very important: Make the child engage in spelling bees, essay competitions, and debate clubs to enhance verbal skills.
      3. Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills:
      o Puzzles, logic games, and strategy games like chess. I have also found these newyorktimes wordle to be very useful as well.
      Very important: Participation in science fairs and Olympiads to develop a scientific approach and inquiry skills.

Thanks for reading and Have a great day ahead

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  6 месяцев назад

      So if I were to advise, it all depends on your long term goals. if your goal is to be in finance and pursue a proper career is something like banking/finance/equity/hedge funds/investments, then you should explore countries like UK, US, Singapore as they are strong at that. You should consider an MBA program that feeds graduates to these industries. You should also look at other programs like Quantitative finance and financial engineering as they can also complement your tech/finance background.
      Work hard on your applications, especially on justifying your decision to leave an IT job for full-time trading. Also be very clear in how an MBA will help you transition into a finance-related role as programs would want to know about it.
      Emory, UT Austin, Indiana’s Kelley, U of florida and Ohio state are a few programs that you should explore. I always recommend young professionals to work hard and pursue the careers in which are interested in in countries where their field of work is leading from the forefront - otherwise someone who is ambitious might just waste their energies.
