What a whirlwind of a project! It was an absolute honour to do the artistic direction and management for this project. When frayref first approached me about working on a Honkai 3rd Fansong together it was *just* as I was starting to get into Honkai myself. Dodging spoilers while also immersing myself in Aponia's story to write this song was a very tricky balance, but I think it all worked out okay!
This was easily one of the most exciting projects of my life, in collaboration with some of the people I look up to the most in this world. Thank you frayref for inviting me to work with you all on this, I'm so proud of what we've made together!!! Looking forward to all the beauty you still have yet to bring into the world ✦

So in 0:00 This is telling Aphohia's backstory (I think?) when she was with Fire Moth and they are fighting Honkai.
In 1:11 she is fighting against Mei in the Elysian realm so that Mei can go meet the 13th herrscher
Amd finally in 2:04 Mei (defeated?) Her in the fight and she saw Elysia through Mei, because they were both herrschers that were not a threat to humanity.
Basically She and Elysia are friends but people found out that Elysia is the 13th herrscher and was killed. Thats why in the end Elysia was shown in the vid

Aponia was a caring and kind soul, however hugely misunderstood. Most people were afraid of her because of her powerful psychic abilities; her discipline ability (similar to mind control but not exactly that either) and her ability to see the threads of fate (the future). Elysia (the pink haired girl at the end) was the first person who smiled at her and greeted her warmly when they met, and treated her with much love, like she did with everyone she met.
"You're not afraid of me?"
"Why would I be afraid of such a pretty and kind person like you~? Oh, are you saying that because you're afraid that I'll be overshadowed by how amazing you are?"
"No, I just....."
She saw what a pure and noble soul she was, how much love was in her heart for everyone and everything around her, how bright and postive she was , and how she was the glue that was holding the previous era's hope together.
Elysia ended up being the 13th Herrscher, one of the most powerful herrschers. (Herrschers are the highest and most powerful beings chosen by the honkai to destroy humanity, and the biggest threat to humanity) However, she had been raised a human, loved humans with all her heart, and the world that they had created- how could she ever harm them?
In the end, since she was the only herrscher that wasn't controlled by the honkai, she gave up her own life to 1. unite humanity under a common enemy,
2. change how Herrschers are in the next era by giving them the change to regain humanity,
3. to destroy the threads of fate to stop the destined destruction of humanity.
She invited all the other flame chasers ( best left over soldiers of the previous era who had banded together due to elysia) to a last banquet (however only 4 of them showed up because they couldn't bring themselves to say goodbye to her) and during this last banquet she gave them gifts, spent quality time together before she invited the appointed leader and strongest flame chaser to a "last dance" (last battle) in which she let herself be fatally wounded by his sword before she "returned back to the honkai".
Aponia was one of the 4 who attended this last banquet, the final stage for the flawless and pure girl. They played a minigame together, and elysia taught her how to use a bow and arrow. After her death, as you can imagine, her death caused her immeasurable bittersweet pain.
It was so typical of her friend to pull off something like this.
She just wasn't expecting her to be saying farewell so soon.
Skipping some time where humanity has almost lost the battle against the honkai, the remaining humans had fled underground to sleep in cryopods to avoid the 14th herrscher's destruction, which was very soon to come.
She self sacrificed herself so that all the remaining humans, who were in despair and had lost hope, could have a good last dream while she erased every bad memory from their minds, and is thought to have merged with the Elysian realm (a sim world created by the memories of all the flamechasers including elysia so that they could leave what they learned to the next era) so that she could always remember ely, though that's just a theory, but it's likely that its true

This is amazing, it feels like the opening of a really cool and dramatic anime that is sure to break hearts but touch them at the same time. This is truly a masterpiece. I dunno anything about honkai, but the lyrics is so beautiful that it carries so much emotion that makes you understand the character in the video. This is truly a masterpiece.
