I use it to help me design level layouts in my game.I associate the numbers with type of areas like a combat area,a puzzle area,an exploration area,reward area etc..Using magic squares allows me to somehow balance the level overall,since the players are allowed to go any diretion they want it allows me to balance things out so they can find a variety of areas whichever part of the map they go first.
