Neil Young and Graham Nash severed their friendships with the guy because his mouth and his brain don't work at the same speed. Last year, Roger McGuinn, Crosby's band-mate from The Byrds, commented on Twitter that nobody will work with David so Crosby blocked him. A guy he's known for almost 60 years.
Remember Ted Nugent had a run in with Crosby over politics a few years back.. Even Neil Young hates David Crosby....trashed him on the Stern show, said he was a total prick

During that interview he just talked trash about everyone in music because no one was out singing message songs and telling the youth to stand up and fight type of songs. Then he goes to play some new song and Howard asked him about playing along, Crosby said something like, "Oh, this song is in a weird tuning that I came up with, you wouldn't be able to play it" , how arrogant I thought. Turns out his "weird" tuning was he tuned the B string to a D, that's it! Someone said later that the only reason he did that was because some chord he played during the song was too difficult for him to play in regular tuning but by putting the B to a D he could now play it lol. Yes Hendrix changed the guitar, but EVH changed it even more! EVH fathered numerous NEW genre's to the guitar world, hendrix just changed the sounds and that was all due to his guitar not him! EVH's other contributions far far far and I mean fucking FAR outweigh anything that ANYONE ever did aside from Robert Johnson who inspired it all! I am not even that big of a Van Halen fan or a EVH fan and my God even my dumbass can see and give tribute to the man and what he gave us and the day he died I was fucking NUMB and felt an extreme amount of sadness and yes I even teared up a time or two, fuck off Crosby you old has been who should have never been!
Crosby and his lineage for the next 1,000 years will never produce as much talent as EVH had in one of his hair follicles, a toenail clipping or one of his dirty socks after a show. Crosby is one of those punks who never progressed beyond the 1960s. He's a statist who signed an oath in blood with a record industry that pays him to repeat the same drivel he's always spouted.

Hendrix inspired a new sound, but his techniques were not copied, just his sound which was all due to his guitar tech btw, and that was a direct copy off of the fuzz box sound first heard around the world when Keith Richards played the intro to Satisfaction in 1962. I truly believe that there were only 3 men who influenced the guitar world so much that they created a brand new genre of music and/or drastically changed an existing one. Robert Johnson's work in 1936 is still heard even in today's guitar world and while many would hear him play it and not be impressed because they have heard it so much. You have to remember that in 1936 no one was playing what Johnson was!! Chuck Berry came out with Johnny B Goode and ever since then the guitar has taken center stage in the world of Rock and roll. That's why guitar sales around the world sky rocketed once Johnny B Goode came out!! Hendrix changed the sound to a bit heavier sound, but shit Iommi REALLY made it go heavy! EVH inspired numerous genres of rock and roll and basically his playing commanded the world of rock for at least two full decades and is STILL commanding it today in it's techniques and innovations.

First of all you cannot compare the two styles EVH was a technical player and Hendricks was a blues rock player.
