It is quite amazing how groups of sounds, sample packs, and specific libraries can inspire a feeling or track. By contrast given an almost unlimited palette of native instruments sounds and I can’t think of a thing to write!. Your track did make me think of the Drake’s Fortune series of games, think mystery, ancient treasure, jungle adventures and black magic. A great sound with only 8 tracks. I have at last purchased the Meyer Felt and it is also inspiring mainly, in my view, because there is a limited palette which locks me into a particular mood and pushes me to experiment more. Cheers.
"Limited means gives impetus to creation, extension leads the arts to decadence" - George Braque. Another common problem today is that many people confuse creativity with the process of selection. And choosing a sound or a loop is certainly not the same as making one.
You inspire me so much! I think I've watched all your video in the last three or four months. That video what was I needed to get me compose. I had a mood in mind but I wasn't sure how to compose it. I've just followed your workflow while I was watching with my own libraries (Damage 2 and LABS). Creating a bed of percussion groove. Adding melodies in a more modal way and creating conterpoints. I realized that I love composing that style of organic texturish music. It's really a fun style to explore and you helped me so much inspiring me !
A library I have wanted since it came out and have finally got on a Black Friday deal. Just wanted to check out your take on it so late to the party but really enjoyed this vid thanks. I'll be mixing with live acoustic instruments and some of the Eduardo Tarilonte libraries which I love. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for a very interesting glimpse into your workflow. I have Albion One which is also great. Main thing I took away was to try picking a set of sounds first then working up something from there. The limitation seems a good approach instead of endlessly chasing sounds rpthrough countless presets. Much appreciated.
Love this, both content and music! Seeing compositions in real time answers so many 'how to' questions all at once. Would love to see more. Thank you Jon.
Brilliant stuff, Jon. You should do this with some other libraries - although you look pretty much at home with the British folk tradition right there in Solstice. You could come over to Scotland and do some traditional music festivals with material like this.
Love how you build your tracks I have a very similar style in build ideas and I love that ... Thank you for this its restoring faith in my ability.. I really want this pack from spitfire too great video
Great stuff, Albion Solstice is a great and inspiring library, with amazing sounds and lot of creative uses, as is the other Albion's .Coupled with other fantastic Spitfire Libraries
Fantastic video...I'll probably add this to my albion collection! Side note...what video editing software do you use? I'm curious how you got that blending effect with your camera and daw screen recording!😀
Maybe I am really late to respond to this as I am not the author. But you can do this with any video editing software (da vinci, premiere pro, final cut) They all have some kind of editing tool to cut/mask/crop. And then you can adjust the softness of that mask/crop around your video :)
Wow, nice melody you did, the percussions surprised me too. I wanted to ask, if within percussion, there is an approach to make epic music, timpani sounds and things like that?. That library is a good option to make epic music right?. If I'm wrong, could you suggest another one? I'm inspired to make music like Audiomachine, thank you
Bellissimo video volevo chiedere il suo computer quanta RAM ha? O quanta ne servirebbe per utilizzare molti Virtual in strumento per grandi progetti grazie mille
Some great sounds in this library. Like you say, you always have to be careful using really distinctive parts. I often recognise library sounds in scores I hear now
Just wondering if you tried the Cassette Orchestra? I found that if you change ANY control in the EDNA engine then EVERY control moves while attempting to blow up your speakers and your ears! A pretty serious bug. There are others too. Seriously peed off with this right now. Look forward to hearing your experience.
2:04 "You might have to put up with more ... Elliott Smith than you would prefer." [*unsubscribe*] J/K, but... weird verbiage choice to EDIT *IN* to this otherwise useful/interesting vid.
Yea, you’re right. It was an inside joke. He and I and a couple other guys have been friends for decades. He’s always pushing Elliot And PJ on us, so we give him a hard time.
@@JonMeyer Ha! Yeah, totally understand. Very cool your buddy has that separate program he's been brewing... I was just semi-blind-sided, while doing typical "Black Friday" research, lol... and then that verbiage popped up... I actually named my son after Elliott, so it struck a nerve, lol! Hope your holiday season is off to a great start Jon! All the best :-)
Great job Jon, keep it up!
Thank you! Congrats on such a fine release.
I didn't even give the percussion grooves the time of day with this library, but the way that you made them work goes HARD. Enjoyed watching, thanks!
This is incredible! I had no idea Somstice also came with sexy soft world beats!! 🤯
great offering. funny, heartfull, authentic commentary, and solid musical chops. great channel Jon, many thanks.
Thanks so much!

Thanks, Simon. Best of luck in your writing endeavors. Amazing how limitations help ignite our creativity.

This was awesome. Very inspiring!
I really appreciate you going over the sections individually! So helpful to see the full library before purchasing. Thank you!!!

A live composing video from the king of Woven Strings himself! I am so impressed and happy at the same time :) New sub here !
This has inspired me to dig deeper into Solstice. Thank you! New Subscriber!

First of all great job, sound like you working on Black Panther 2. I am feeling this track.
Are you working in Maschine Native Instruments?
No, just the instruments inside of Spitfire's Albion Solstice.
Great video! Not sure the drones bring anything to your piece.
THIS AMAZING, MUSICAL RENDITION. WOULD HAVE, FIT SO VERY COMFORTABLY WITHIN THE (DUNE), MOVIE FRANCHISE....IT SOUNDS THAT GOOD. WOW! 👑🙏🏽⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💎
Some great sounds in this library.

On the topic of "Songs of Note", can one really have enough Elliott Smith?
Great video, Jon!
I love Elliot, but yes, I have a limit!
…. I can either save money or buy this. Or wait and eventually buy it anyway at a sale. WHAT DO I DO?!?!?
great video !! Are you using the mac mini m1?

Also how can you sound like everyone else if you’re the first!
"you can see these people". HA
