RUclips restricted the original video because the characters said f*ck and c*nt over 200 times. I get it, the cursing was excessive for a general audience so I was forced to delete and reupload a censored version. Oli had to mute every word manually, AND add a blur that was tracked with the motion of the subtitles. Turns out, Scottish accents really are scary 😅. Enjoy the vid!
Why is no one talking about how much of a good protagonist caz is. He literally never wants to go do the generator shit or fix the legs. He just wants to get out
So an explanation for the ending sequence: (SPOILERS) It is actually a letter that Suze sent later on after the letter about divorce, but what makes it sad, and tragic, is that it was most likely sent after Caz had gave up his life so the growth wouldn’t reach the mainland. So the letter never reached its destination and Caz died thinking that Suze was going to leave him, and he was going to lose his family. Another explanation about the charges Caz received and why he ended up on the rig in the first place: during your first conversation with Roy they talk about how Caz clocked an old school mate of his and Suze’s for making a pass at her. That is why he had the charges, and that’s why he took the job on the rig to begin with. Another thing to keep in mind, and what makes the story so deep, especially after your last conversation with Finley, is that Caz has been running away from his problems this entire time. On the rig, at home, and now the growth that’s taking over everything. So in that moment, when he takes his lighter back from Finley at the end, is him finally facing his problems and coming to terms with everything and that he would do anything to keep his family safe even at the expense of himself. It’s really a full circle moment, you gave Finley the lighter at the beginning, she calls you a life saver, and that’s exactly what you do at the end when you take it back and blow the rig up. Caz is a life saver and a hero in that moment. He ends everything, finally, because he knows that if whatever that growth is reaches the mainland, that his family would be in danger. Another thing, is that Brodie was the one who was supposed to be in charge of keeping that new recruit safe at the beginning. Which is why I think he’s so heavily involved in a lot of what’s happening. Atonement for not keeping that boy safe. Plus the rig is falling apart like that because it wasn’t up to code, which is why they sent Trots, a union representative out to the rig in the first plant. Renner and the company they work for was cutting corners and somebody was sent out in order to bring everything up to code. Also I know it felt like nobody else was doing anything, but you have to remember Caz is the electrician. So all the electrical things fall on him especially when they are working with a skeleton crew because most of the employees were off rig for the holiday. So Caz was the only one that really knew how to keep the lights and the electrical on and when the rig started falling apart and they lost power, there was almost no way to contact the outside world. Lastly, and this is just a theory, I believe the growth is a hive mind. Which is why when Rennick tried to leave on the heli, him and the pilot struggled because Rennick was most likely already infected, which is why he was able to transform after being in the crash. This theory is also supported by Roper warning you that Rennick is coming when he gives you the key. He feels it, which could only be explained by the creature being a hive mind whenever it infects something. EDIT: Here’s something else I noticed after watching multiple playthroughs by different people. After beating the game the start screen no longer has the rig like at the beginning. So this might be alluding to that Caz blowing everything up was successful. That’s just another theory though, but it’s good to know that at least the huge core was mostly destroyed from what we can see.
I gotta say that I really appreciate Eddie giving space for video games to tell their own stories and allowing the impactful moments to have the intended impact, rather than adding commentary at all times. It’s refreshing.
What I love about Eddie is that he actually gets invested in the games he plays, especially if they have a story. He wants to know all the secrets, he reads everything that has to be read (even if it's a lot), memorizes a lot of details even if he messes up sometimes it, focuses on the cutscenes and can be clever when the time arises. He's not just playing for the audience, he also plays for himself and that's a fantastic thing to see.
I am still sobbing, 10 minutes after finishing this video after understanding the story and Suze's letters to Caz. It is so heart breaking because all Caz did was help people and think about his family, consciously & unconsciously... that man did run away from his problems and the games story showed that perfectly by him running around the rig but from the beginning till the end he wanted to be home and with his girls. He died thinking that his wife was taking the girls and leaving him. Caz never found out from the last letter Suze sent to him that she was just upset and misses, loves him as well as wishes him to be coming home soon Safe & sound... The fact that he went through that entire nightmare alone half of the time and died alone after all that. Finnley made him understand they had to destroy it to protect their loved ones. Caz choose to love and protect his family while under the impression they were leaving him. His love for them is so deep and pure it makes the story that much better. He cares for so many on that damn death trap and did his best AS AN SPARKY MAN (y'all know what I mean) and still fucking DIED?! I will never forgive the authors for this plot and ending. He deserved to at least get one call working out to them to say goodbye or something. Or even being able to wait for Suze while in heaven. UGHHH my heart and these tears are hurting. So glad I watch this playthrough with Eddie being the one in control he gives the right sense of humor and deep emotional understanding to the plot and characters that die and how the game concludes. Made it that 10x more enjoyable than watching it from other channel playthroughs. fuck man.
This ENTIRE VIDEO was an emotional rollercoaster. OML.... Poor Roy. And the guy who was forced to kill someone he was close to.. I can't imagine that kinda pain
@@bearded_colliesaresick I cant find the exact time stamp but do you remember the guy screaming about how he didn't mean to kill the dude on the ladder?
Can’t believe I watched this whole thing without ever moving. There was a moment where I didn’t even realise that I wasn’t blinking, this was an awesome experience and definitely emotional. Roy’s death caused so much emotions to fill my mind and caused me to cry a bit, it’s very rare for me to cry while watching movies or videos. This was definitely worth spending 3 and something hours to watch. Keep it up Eddie
Dude I didn’t expect this game to actually be sad, like usually content creators will say “it was a really emotional game” but then it turns out to not be. But this, this game made me cry..
Yea, from what I've watched, I played this way before Eddie, but I js wanted to watch him get scared. The only thing that I cried from is when Roy died or like any One died
Bro, your still in the prologue. Wait for the real game to start 😂 Respect to you and everyone over there risking there life on the daily. You are heroes
This game has some of the BEST voice acting. It's actually incredible. I think the entire game is great but the voice acting is personally one of the biggest highlights.
a few things to help Eddie understand more 1. no you don't have to swim through any oil storage storage. the game made you do it for the drama but it makes sense to make you (caz) swim through the oil storage to the next leg because the tanks are that low to be used as ballast (controls the buoyance of the platform) 2. although the type of rig in the game is unknown having legs tells me its a fixed platform, but having weights in each leg and the driver (roper) later on in the game tells me its a semi submersible rig meaning its free floating but uses weights and propellers to balance and steer the rig when caz and brodie lower the leg weights in a desperate attempt to stabilize the rig by lowering the it in the water the oil storage begins to flood faster as water is now flowing in through the damaged hull, later on when you meet roper to adjust the rig because its now flooding to fast is a result to brodies plan earlier 3. the mud handling room, while a funny joke while drilling into the sea bed for oil alot of mud comes up before hand, the mud handling room sorts the mud to be repurposed and pumped through the drill bit nozzles, it lubricates and cools the drill bit, which can weigh up to 70,000 pounds and rotate at speeds of up to 100 rpm. The mud also helps carry away heat generated by the drill bit bearings and the formation. also note oil is not supposed to be in any of the legs, but it is common to see water as the bottom floor of the legs are under water, eddie sees a shower of oil because i would assume transfer pipes are broken allowing it to go everywhere, but in-between legs he was swimming in the oil storage
I was about to post about mud handling! As Poster here says, its not your standard "mud", it also refers to drilling fluids that are used for lubrication and cooling of the drill! Super important
Thanks for the explanation man. As someone working as a process artisan for a petrochemical factory, I was quite curious about everything I saw and heard about this oil rig. Like google will only provide a very brief and dumbed down explanation. This actually shed a bit of extra light
@@davidsanpon i left a bit out, access mud is sorted to be shipped off rig, see deep water horizon movie for example "we are standing by at deep water horizon to start receiving mud"
Bro i was crying so hard when Roy died. Like man...I know it's coming but i still cried like a baby...and then on the ending scene when Suze said "My love.". Really killed me😓💔
People don't realize how much effort that Oli (Eddie's Editor) Puts into these videos, imagine having to go in and censor every single cuss word. I give hella respect to him, love you Oli.
This game gave me chills. It’s so realistic and scary at the same time but also has it’s beautiful moments. The storyline was so perfect even Eddie got in tears. Good job
1:09:15 this is an actual fear I have as a type 1 diabetic, that if an apocalypse is to come, i wouldn’t be able to make it because i rely on insulin and technology to monitor my levels

The fact that this was almost 4 hours long did an amazing job at keeping me hooked and engaged into the story and gameplay. If this was a multiple part series, i don’t know if I’d be as engaged as this. Thank you for making it a long video.
It is true tho most of the death that aren’t lovectaftian happen all the time at oil rigs if u removed the monsters and such everything in the game is plausible
@@Meh-d6y technically speaking, the rig itself wasn't up to code and was probably already falling apart. so if anything, if something had happened and the rig's stability was in trouble, even without the monsters, Roy might not have been able to get his insulin in time either. but it's always worth noting that while lovecraftian stories and monsters and such are usually just that, monsters. they can also be used as vessels to deliver other messages, like kong and godzilla being analogies for national tragedies and such. The way the monster spreads in this game could very well be something like that, the way that a small corner cut or a procedure not followed can lead to a chain reaction of failures that lead to people's deaths.
@@ramen2192 that didn’t happen though. It was the monsters. Technically it could be the oil rigs fault but it wasn’t. I haven’t watched in a while so maybe I forgot but I’m pretty sure it was the monster’s fault.
Since my comment on the original post was deleted, I will try to remember what I said: Being in this situation would be terrifying, having to run away from your life because of something you did then when you do creating a good bond with these different people all for it to be taken away in a matter of seconds like it was nothing, not to add that going through these situations by yourself would be horrifying... After I was finished, I went on reddit and found a user that explained a theory I really agree with, it was: “I could be completely wrong, but I believe that Caz died during the initial blast on the rig. To me it makes sense because you’re having visions of events in Caz’s life, like the argument with his wife along with the quick snap shots of other parts of his life. Another thing that makes me think he is trapped in a hellish limbo of sorts are the bright lights seen throughout the game, when you see the organism for the first time, when you hear your coworker through the door (can’t remember his name) and the big one was the elevator ride up out of one of the legs in the rig where you are literally lifted out of a fiery hell scape into a tunnel of light all the while angelic like music plays in the background. The last part that made me feel like this was a crossing over of sorts is when you enter the organism and after accepting that you will die you wake up in the room with Suze and open the door into the afterlife. I could be completely wrong but that’s just what it felt like to me. Some other things I noticed was Finely playing a Virgil type character guiding you through the oil rigs layers (I know there were others but Finely was the last one by your side until the end). The screen burning as you approach the organism and seeing glimpses of his past memories in the bubbling corners of the screen.” And of course, like the original poster said, this is js a theory and could be twisted and turned into anyway for anyway. Edit 1: I NEED you guys to know what the words in ""
Can we just appreciate how even during the scariest parts Eddie was making jokes to make himself laugh so he wont get scared. Like the scottish accent or telling roy they were gonna make french fries and when the flesh thing smashed the stairs and the guy was like "what the f#@k is that?!!?" And eddies like "RaInBoW rOaD 😏
I just love how realistic the panic is. It reminds me of the beginning of pandemic. First, no one believes that something is wrong then slowly people start to realise what's happening and the panic starts, everyone is just trying to survive while the chaos and death spread. It's so cool
It also kinda foreshadows since she does say that he's a lifesaver as he gives her the lighter, just like at the end of the game, where she gives it to him and he burns the rig to the ground to save those at the decks
I watched juicy's gameplay first and pretty much knew how the whole game goes, but when i noticed this i audibly gasped, its the biggest foreshadowing in game history bro
I don't think I have ever sobbed so hard to a horror game... especially at the end, it's so weird because I have never cried to a gameplay with Eddie. The voice acting made it feel so real and terrifying I think it gave us all chicken skin, the singing at the end was the last straw that made cry for HOURS.
Love how in the opening monologue by suze, it foreshadowes how the game will end and how Caz has to give up fighting and do whats best for suze and his kids, just like what she said, absolutely great story,. with great horror elements, great design and great voice acting, i couldn't say a bad thing about this game if i tried
As a Scottish person myself seeing Eddie attempt a Scottish accent made my day. Also the struggle of understanding Scottish slang is pretty much universal to everyone who isn’t Scottish 😅
Man, this made me tear up so bad, I'm still crying right now lol 😂. Poor Caz, he lost everyone, even himself. This wasn't just a horror game, it was the most emotional, depressing and devastating game I've ever seen! It's amazing game but it has a really sad story to it.
The fact that I actually sat here for almost 4 hours watching this video just shows how good it is. Most of the time I can't even get past 40 minutes of a video let alone almost 4 hours
Absolute 10/10 ride along watching Eddie play through this. I was expecting surface level horror jump scare stuff and what we get is an emotional trip into the human psyche with loss, sadness, grief, and unexpected twists.
Idk if anyone will read this but a cool little detail I realized is that he hands Finlay the lighter in the beginning then hands the exact same lighter to him in the end 5:24
The ending is Suze writing a new letter to Caz, resolving to persevere in their marriage and wishing for him and Roy to come home. She doesn’t know he’s dead. Nobody knows what happened on the rig because there were no survivors. The ending dialogue is Suze having accepted what Caz did, and wants to reconcile and fix their relationship… but Caz is never coming home.
Thank you...beat explation ibe heard yet, and I believe the situation they intended.... Thank you for making it click, and helping me understand...lol..I was reading all these just getting more confused until this...lol
This being an eldritch horror story, I'd wager that the destruction of the beast threw Caz back at the start of his adventure, but it also scrambled the variables in his favor. Suze's words at the end are to send him on his way to the new job. And that with a totally different demeanor than the original path.
this game is awsome in every aspect, the characters, the designes, the voice acting + lines, the creatures, everything. its so well made, those cries for help from the workers who are infected break my heart (its brutal that they stay conscious), they sound so realistic, helpless and scared, it really makes you uneasy, espacially because they all know each other and alway refer to each other by names, what a mindblowing game.
Just finished watching this, the story is so good and the monsters are scary as hell, almost cried when Roy died and that Caz couldn’t make it to see his wife and kids anymore. Truly a good game
I’m actually balling I grew so close to all the characters and it’s so sad that in the end their all just people with lives of their own and they’ll never be able to see those they loved again. And it’s scary because the concept of a ship malfunction (minus the alien sea creature things) is something that can really happen and real people with their own lives can die and it’s just such a saddening concept to think about I genuinely cried at each death, by the end of the video I was genuinely sobbing
whenever I see games like this I think "this is like a movie that we're interacting with" and I love it, my eyes got watery as well with Rory and like my heart was breaking with the voice acting it's so good
This game, a masterpiece if you will, is glorious in every single aspect. From the sound design to the voice acting, from the graphics to the story, all of it is perfect. The scary parts, the emotional parts, all like pieces of the giant jigsaw puzzle that is, Still Wakes the Deep.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who occasionally holds my breath when playing a game that has scenes under water. XD this game was definitely unsettling.
SPOILERS IN MY COMMENT Absolutely bawling my eyes out, I'm glad I'm not the one on camera. One of the best games I have EVER seen. If the devs see this, y'all have created a masterpiece. As for the questions you had, Eddie, I perceive the end as her sending a letter thinking you're still alive, because there's nobody to send word that the whole rig was lost. So, she forgave him and wanted him home, but he'll never know that, and it breaks my heart.
Nah, her tone and demeanor are completely different than the beginning. What we see at the end is his first day leaving for the new job. He was thrown back in time and one variable has changed. Suze is hopeful and not threatening. The awakened Old God (the bright creature at the center of the rig...whenever we see Caz looking at the beast, he's always saying "God almighty" and "my god". This is an eldritch horror...Cthulhu type stuff.) reset everything back by about four months to the beginning. With a slightly scrambled variable...Suze isn't leaving Caz no matter what the outcome.
Holy shit, it's a fucking A+ tier game. It has what every horror game has, horror parts, but also comedic and emotional parts that make it even better. Plus, like Eddie said, the characters are kind of just downright honest (like Roy, who's a big character but still scared instead of the stereotypical brave), and that makes it even better.
I totally held my breath every time caz went under water too 😂 jump scares had me cursing in English and Spanish. Good game though, I’d play this one for sure 👍
I absolutely LOVED this playthrough, this and what remains of edith finch within a week of each other was AMAZING to watch. This game was great and kept me on my toes the whole time. Thank you for playing this Eddie!!💗
Yeah when I watched this I thought on the front of the vid I thought the octopus was that girl that turned into different animals in what remains of Edith finch lol
Can we just appreciate that Oli is having to do so much editing and so much hard work to make these videos not be deleted. And can we also appreciate Eddie spending hours and hours playing these games for us😄 AND EDDIE'S SCOTTISH ACCENT WAS PERFECT TOO
Such an amazing story line, I cried a few times. I didn't expect this game to be like this I just thought it was going to be a funny and scary one but it was so much more. The creators did such an amazing job and so did Eddie and Oli.
Imagine its Christmas, you miss your children, your getting divorced by your wife, your working in an oil rig when suddenly an explosion happens and an alien of some sort of creature is trying to kill and probably take over the whole oil rig, everyone is slowly dying and you can’t do anything, your helpless, in the middle of the ocean.. what do you do?
1:39:00 “I really don’t like it, peweeeeeeeeeeaaheeea! Paaaa! Somebody must give shited” I still don’t understand how he changes his mood so quickly from scared asf to laughing instantly.
Incredible game! The interactions between all the characters were so real and not forced. Amazing how quickly you were able to get attached to each one. I wonder if the last scene isnt his soul / mind finding peace with the woman he loved (and had been arguing with throughout). Giving himself the chance to give a final goodbye (or possibly visit) with her as she sleeps before stepping back into the vast ocean where he died. And i think the letter from suz was the next letter he was supposed to get from her. Or maybe one she wrote after contact was lost.
The lighter Finlay gave back was Caz's, I think. A reminder of the beginning, when Caz gave her it, she said he was a life saver. He does end up being one, so it's nice to match the beginning to the ending a little like that.
@@skyemoon420 no problem! I love when stories come full circle too, especially when it concerns what may seem like an insignificant item like the lighter.
I’m going to add in my theory about the game 🧚🏽♂️ (Spoilers 😜) So basically when Caz fell off the rig originally I don’t think he died then, I think that they got him out of the water because we can hear Brodie say “he’s breathing, thank Christ”. I believe Caz fell into unconsciousness or a coma like state afterwards, and hallucinated/dreamt the whole alien-monster taking over the rig thing, this is called hypnagogic hallucinations. Now I do believe that Caz died at the end of the game due to hypothermia because every time he gets out of the water from swimming, he complains about how cold it is or how much he can’t stand the cold and searched for a heater. Overall amazing game but super sad 😭😭
Commented once but I’ll do it twice. Just finished watching it this time. This was NO game. This was an interactive masterpiece or interactive movie. Finally giving the audience (Eddie in this opportunity) to be the main character. I’m sure there’s people that will argue there are better ones. There may be. But this one is different. The way you played it, if you read this or not @specialedd, you showed every type of emotion with every type of fear, beautifully. Even the rant about having to go back and forth doing chores while everyone else eats fries and ranch. 😂 well done!! 👏👏👏 You definitely need to play or there should be, in general, more games like this! What Remains of Edith was almost on the same level, but it didn’t have the same grip that Still Wakes the Deep had to keep you eyes wide open while watching. Oli wants a raise. Kudos to him and all the extra work to get this video up!! This one needed to be seen! Amazing job to you both!! On to the next! 🖤
In my opinion these types of games are really hard to adapt into movies, since the game and gameplay itself already feels a lot like a movie. If there were more side stuff, like more collectibles or other hidden content, then it would’ve felt more like a game, otherwise for me it felt more like a movie. It was pretty straightforward and beautiful all in all. Still, I would love to see it be adapted into a well made film.
Tbh i think there's a reason why it's a game and not a movie. These types of work are best for an audience that are willing to sit through hours of gameplay versus an audience used to movies being only an hour and a half. I can see this being a flop as a movie.

Im sobbing rn. I just finished watching the video, and this game was so good. I feel like one of the things that made this feel so real and made it so hard to watch as you see each character die is due to the voice acting. It's so sincere, and it's so real. The way they can talk so casually and play around at the beginning, and they way they talk and call and it sounds so real, you can hear the emotions in their voices, the fear, the relief when they know we're still alive, everything just makes this game feel so real
What i took from this game is no matter what life throws at you, no matter the issues or the troubles you go through, the pain or uncomfortable situations... the hard times and the moments you feel hopeless, we need to face those issues and not be scared. It's a reason why Caz didn't show how scared he was all game even when Roy told him he was. Roy didn't want Caz to leave him alone, but when Roy died Caz was just as afraid as Roy was and he couldn't continue without him. It's a reason why he told Finlay to think straight even if Caz knew that THAT was the only way to remove that issue. Finlay told Caz to not be scared and we need to confront it. The "monsters" is our own issues
I’m glad you re-uploaded this. Even I was disappointed that RUclips force you to censored the cussing, but kudos to Oli. Also, Roy’s death, I wasn’t ready to be crying so hard because, my grandmother just passed away earlier this month, and it doesn’t help when Caz trying to wake him up in first-person perspective, it instantly giving me flashbacks on how I see my grandmother’s jaws slowly stopped. 🥺🥺🥺 I’m crying again while writing this. 🥺
I’m sorry! For the spoiler! 😭 I just thought I want to share my experience and how I wasn’t prepared for that scene to affect me so badly. But thank you. 🥺❤️
Not a lot of games leave an impression on me. This one made me cry and I don't think I'll ever forget it. Cheers to Eddie and Oli for both playing and editing respectivly
HUGE SPOILER WARNINGS (MB) I think Roy's death hit me the hardest. Not just because Roy was a day one, but also his facial expression, there was no denying that he was dead. There wasn't any ambiguity on whether or not he would maybe wake up, or that he's just asleep. His death had to be accepted, and it was so real.
Oh man! I'm so relieved this video was uploaded again! But man, this game is so emotional, I cried a lot for the last half hour hahaha. About the story, what I understood, is that either Caz died at the first explotion and everything that happened was just him stuck in a limbo o purgatory for the decisions he had taken before going to the rig... Or, all of this DID happened, the crime that Caz commited, the explotion, tha fighting, and finally Caz sacrificing himself and blowing the whole rig with monsters included so that whatever that stuff was, necer hit land, and the last dialogue from Suze, is just her, sending another letter to Caz, hoping that he returns home soon and safely so that they can figure out what to do together, not knowing that Caz, Roy, and everyone already died. Also, the explosion would leave no evidence or anything so people could figure out what happened, so it would remain a mystery (which, when you think about it, it's so freaking sad, because Caz never got to say sorry, and Suze and the kids never got him or answers back) That's my thoughts about this game! Hope we get to see more deep, emotional and detailed games alongside you! Tons of love!
What if Caz has been dead since the beginning?? When he falls from the helipad and into the ocean!? He comments repeatedly how he hates the cold through out the game and uses heaters to try and warm up, but on controller, he doesn't stop shaking. 😢
In the end of the game he doesn't wake up from anything. When he is in the bedroom and leaving that's when he was first leaving to work on the oil rig. It's a flashback.
@@mjt1517 It's not, it's a flashback. The monologue she has after is a letter she sent to him after that Christmas card/letter, but obviously never got to him. The ending was to show his final memories- and the monologue is just as a final emotional clincher for us as an audience.

So an explanation for the ending sequence: (SPOILERS)
It is actually a letter that Suze sent later on after the letter about divorce, but what makes it sad, and tragic, is that it was most likely sent after Caz had gave up his life so the growth wouldn’t reach the mainland.
BEAUTIFULLY explained, thank you!
You basically wrote a whole essay on this lol

Yah.
May I also suggest IGPs play through.

Yeah I can think of 1 or 2 Letsplayers that live in yapperville😅😂
Made it that 10x more enjoyable than watching it from other channel playthroughs. fuck man.

Respect to you and everyone over there risking there life on the daily. You are heroes
@@Terra_25 🤣 it’s not so bad, the game definitely nailed certain aspects of what it’s really like though!
This game has some of the BEST voice acting. It's actually incredible. I think the entire game is great but the voice acting is personally one of the biggest highlights.
a few things to help Eddie understand more
1. no you don't have to swim through any oil storage storage. the game made you do it for the drama but it makes sense to make you (caz) swim through the oil storage to the next leg because the tanks are that low to be used as ballast (controls the buoyance of the platform)
2. although the type of rig in the game is unknown having legs tells me its a fixed platform, but having weights in each leg and the driver (roper) later on in the game tells me its a semi submersible rig meaning its free floating but uses weights and propellers to balance and steer the rig when caz and brodie lower the leg weights in a desperate attempt to stabilize the rig by lowering the it in the water the oil storage begins to flood faster as water is now flowing in through the damaged hull, later on when you meet roper to adjust the rig because its now flooding to fast is a result to brodies plan earlier
3. the mud handling room, while a funny joke while drilling into the sea bed for oil alot of mud comes up before hand, the mud handling room sorts the mud to be repurposed and pumped through the drill bit nozzles, it lubricates and cools the drill bit, which can weigh up to 70,000 pounds and rotate at speeds of up to 100 rpm.
This actually shed a bit of extra light

but it's always worth noting that while lovecraftian stories and monsters and such are usually just that, monsters. they can also be used as vessels to deliver other messages, like kong and godzilla being analogies for national tragedies and such.

Since my comment on the original post was deleted, I will try to remember what I said:
Being in this situation would be terrifying, having to run away from your life because of something you did then when you do creating a good bond with these different people all for it to be taken away in a matter of seconds like it was nothing, not to add that going through these situations by yourself would be horrifying...
After I was finished, I went on reddit and found a user that explained a theory I really agree with, it was:
“I could be completely wrong, but I believe that Caz died during the initial blast on the rig.
The screen burning as you approach the organism and seeing glimpses of his past memories in the bubbling corners of the screen.”
And of course, like the original poster said, this is js a theory and could be twisted and turned into anyway for anyway.

I just love how realistic the panic is. It reminds me of the beginning of pandemic. First, no one believes that something is wrong then slowly people start to realise what's happening and the panic starts, everyone is just trying to survive while the chaos and death spread. It's so cool
Fun fact : Finlay's lighter she gave caz at the end was actually caz's lighter from the begining he gave her at 5:20
It also kinda foreshadows since she does say that he's a lifesaver as he gives her the lighter, just like at the end of the game, where she gives it to him and he burns the rig to the ground to save those at the decks
I didn't even realize that.. shows how much the small things matter
I think it is kinda obvious

Idk if anyone will read this but a cool little detail I realized is that he hands Finlay the lighter in the beginning then hands the exact same lighter to him in the end 5:24
And also that when she gets the lighter in the beginning she calls Caz a lifesaver, and then at the end he quite literally is a lifesaver
Bro looks like he went through hell just to make this video 😂 0:01
The ending is Suze writing a new letter to Caz, resolving to persevere in their marriage and wishing for him and Roy to come home.
She doesn’t know he’s dead. Nobody knows what happened on the rig because there were no survivors.
The ending dialogue is Suze having accepted what Caz did, and wants to reconcile and fix their relationship… but Caz is never coming home.
Thank you...beat explation ibe heard yet, and I believe the situation they intended....

This being an eldritch horror story, I'd wager that the destruction of the beast threw Caz back at the start of his adventure, but it also scrambled the variables in his favor. Suze's words at the end are to send him on his way to the new job. And that with a totally different demeanor than the original path.

I’m going to add in my theory about the game 🧚🏽♂️
(Spoilers 😜)
So basically when Caz fell off the rig originally I don’t think he died then, I think that they got him out of the water because we can hear Brodie say “he’s breathing, thank Christ”.

Even the rant about having to go back and forth doing chores while everyone else eats fries and ranch. 😂 well done!! 👏👏👏 You definitely need to play or there should be, in general, more games like this!
What Remains of Edith was almost on the same level, but it didn’t have the same grip that Still Wakes the Deep had to keep you eyes wide open while watching.
Oli wants a raise. Kudos to him and all the extra work to get this video up!! This one needed to be seen! Amazing job to you both!!
On to the next! 🖤
Caz: *speaking Scottish
Eddie: *a funny Mexican man* "everyone is jacksepticeye".
Jacksepticeye: *angry Irish war cry*
I WAS GONNA SAY THE AAME THING DJDIHXJSHXJS
Justice for the Scots honestly 😭😭
omgg sean NEEDS to play this game
JUSTICE FOR US SCOTTS!*I yell in a Scottish accent*
I am actually Scottish, and I can say, I was more scared of my parents then the other kids😂
EXACTLY 🤣
Either he has beef with their accents, or he just joking around and pretending he doesn't understand the difference 😂
Still wakes the deep definitely needs to be a movie 100% all the way
In my opinion these types of games are really hard to adapt into movies, since the game and gameplay itself already feels a lot like a movie. If there were more side stuff, like more collectibles or other hidden content, then it would’ve felt more like a game, otherwise for me it felt more like a movie. It was pretty straightforward and beautiful all in all. Still, I would love to see it be adapted into a well made film.
Holy shit this would be a block buster of the century
@@Zagork4 they just need to make HP Lovecraft movies. That would cover the theme.
Tbh i think there's a reason why it's a game and not a movie. These types of work are best for an audience that are willing to sit through hours of gameplay versus an audience used to movies being only an hour and a half. I can see this being a flop as a movie.
Hear me out. HBO series 🤠

I praise all oil rig workers genuinely cause even without all the monsters and whatnot it still looks absolutely terrifying.

1:20:05 Bro this made me laugh so much . The way eddie got scared of gaby bringing him homemade tacos and adds mexersist to it and gaby says (proceed to pour half of the bottle) when eddie said he would only pour a bit haha this made me laugh so hard
What I took was don't go to a oil rig lol
I’m glad you re-uploaded this. Even I was disappointed that RUclips force you to censored the cussing, but kudos to Oli.
Also, Roy’s death, I wasn’t ready to be crying so hard because, my grandmother just passed away earlier this month, and it doesn’t help when Caz trying to wake him up in first-person perspective, it instantly giving me flashbacks on how I see my grandmother’s jaws slowly stopped. 🥺🥺🥺
I’m crying again while writing this. 🥺
i just got spoilers from that but im so sorry for your loss!! your grandmother is watching over you ❤️
I’m sorry! For the spoiler! 😭 I just thought I want to share my experience and how I wasn’t prepared for that scene to affect me so badly. But thank you. 🥺❤️
1:20:11 "You can't come in here that's cheating 😠" 😭🤣
Lmaos, Gaybo is kind of horny for him
Not a lot of games leave an impression on me. This one made me cry and I don't think I'll ever forget it. Cheers to Eddie and Oli for both playing and editing respectivly
HUGE SPOILER WARNINGS (MB)
I think Roy's death hit me the hardest. Not just because Roy was a day one, but also his facial expression, there was no denying that he was dead. There wasn't any ambiguity on whether or not he would maybe wake up, or that he's just asleep. His death had to be accepted, and it was so real.
that "I LOVED THIS BIG MAN" hit me so hard
I would’ve opened the door saw him and left I wouldn’t have been able to play through that part without crying😢
im never going in the comments again
way to spoil it bro
A spoiler warning would've been great...
Eddie: I want to see what the people look like
Meanwhile : a monster waiting on the other side of the vent for him
2:07:39 "Bro can u go down more?" *The box going down* 😭😭
I actually cried when Roy and brodie died
Roy and brodie will be missed😔
3:00:00 I am crying. I usually never cry unless a animal is hurt or somthing in a movie but that scene got me
Also, the explosion would leave no evidence or anything so people could figure out what happened, so it would remain a mystery (which, when you think about it, it's so freaking sad, because Caz never got to say sorry, and Suze and the kids never got him or answers back)
That's my thoughts about this game!
A bot took your comment lad
i thought that too everytime eddie said that "what if its a dream" i thought, what if he was already dead when he fell?
3:02:17 "shut up im not crying, your crying"-eddie yes eddie i am crying we all loved the big man too 😢
I think you meant 3:02:17 not 3:02
@@DEMON2_YT606 yea it cut off lol thxs
In the end of the game he doesn't wake up from anything. When he is in the bedroom and leaving that's when he was first leaving to work on the oil rig. It's a flashback.
Nope. It's a reset. Suze's demeanor is completely different from when he left the first time.
@@mjt1517 It's not, it's a flashback. The monologue she has after is a letter she sent to him after that Christmas card/letter, but obviously never got to him. The ending was to show his final memories- and the monologue is just as a final emotional clincher for us as an audience.
@@mjt1517it’s a flashback. It’s Caz when he left the first time.
