That's what I keep hearing on the Frey Ranch offerings. With as much hype as Frey Ranch was getting I was hoping to really enjoy the standard bourbon without dropping +$80 on the cask strength out the door. I still plan on grabbing a barrel proof, just not as tempted as I once was.
Buffalo Trace refuses to give the grain percentages. Too high and mighty to share the info. Also so others do not copy. It seems very silly, but so far there is no law. They do have to state where it is distilled. Bottled in bond adds more requirements.
So true. I love when a distillery shares mash bills with consumers. Gives us an insight to what we are drinking and I like to think it shows pride in your work.
