I remember this p/up, from back in '66. My stepfather had a buddy who had just bought this thing, he came over and showed up all about it. I remember thinking how "COOL" this thing was!
Good choice, Retro Car! I always liked this one, and remember seeing a few growing up. Diecasts are available, as is (or more accurately, was,) a model kit in 1/25th scale by Premier. Unfortunately, this kit has been out of production for 60(!) years, and I don't know if the tooling still exists. I saw one on eBay in the $250-range. Hopefully, someone from Atlantis or Round 2 is watching this . . . . If so, than in addition to thanking you for your research and posting this, I'll thank you in advance if the kit is ever reissued! 59th Like.
@@retrocarchannel You're more than welcome. In truth, this kit isn't very good - even by the standards of when it was made. (Companies like Premier and Palmer were not exactly in the same league as AMT, Revell or Monogram.) And it was made in the "Promo" (curbside) style, with an engraved chassis but no engine detail. Still, with enough reference material (thank you Internet) and aftermarket accessories (like the Corvair engine from the Round 2 / AMT Parts pack,) a good modeler could turn this into a nice display piece. That said, if I meet any modeler who turns the Premier 1/25th scale 1961 Corvair 95 Rampside into a IPMS contest winner; I'm addressing them as, "Sensei!" Again, I hope that Atlantis or Round 2 has the old Premier tooling for this one. Better still, they should reissue it along with the Premier 1907 Mack 7-ton Truck (as shown on the Scalemates site.) Also not the best kit. But the only one available in styrene of this subject, and in the hands of an experienced modeler . . . .
I always thought that this is a cool lorry & looked quite unusual in its day (in the USA) but why the heck do you need a 6 cylinder engine for a mere 80 HP?
🤗 THANKS RETRO,FOR SHARING THIS UNIQUE PRACTICAL VEHICLE 💚💚💚😊
Thank you.

Finally, you feature a vehicle that I've seen before. Great job.
cool shared liked loved !
With modern tech the air cooled engine should be revisited
old is gold
1:20 "with the drivers side of the bed having a ramp built into it..." shows picture of ramp on passenger side
Better not let Matt know he will want one with all his other Corvairs 😂😂
Thanks, _Ralph Nader._ 🙄
