As a woman who wants to get into game design, I really look up to these two.
I forgot the name of the show but I think it was on PBS or something. Anyways they do shows that highlight different individuals and they did one on the women who designed and programmed Atari's centipede that looked pretty interesting. There is also an interview of one of the lead designers for the PlayStation games flower and journey done by lbs video game idea channel here on RUclips (again I forgot the specific name) she talks a bit about her design philosophies and helping minorities get interested in the industry and getting involved etc. You might like them.
I want to just hug that woman for developing animal crossing (so Much)

If you haven't noticed, the babies actually play cod and minecraft, kid. Go play you're flappy birds or whatever 3 year olds do nowadays other than play cod and minecraft.

I love that their answer was basically they don't pay attention to gender and just make games. Let's keep it that way
Danny Alfonso I think its to address the concerns of the game industry as being a boys club, showing ladies working on games can only inspire younger girl viewers that a path in game development can be for them if they want it.

Nintendo seem to be one of the few companies putting some focus on their female developers which is great! Highlighting the lady in the Yoshi Woolly World and these ladies in this video

I will get hate but I am quite excited for AC: Amiibo Festival. I think it has so much potential and it is free and will have online features. You just have to pay for Amiibo, and I hope that they won't be stupid rare. It is still in development and they are adding modes. If Nintendo does this right, I believe it would receive less hate but I understand the hate because we all wanted Animal Crossing U. I don't have much for HHD since I am really excited since I have been thinking about Interior and Exterior design a lot.

Cristian C They have gotten some undeserved hate for this announcement but, Bethesda was finished with Fallout Shelter a year ago but since they couldn't announce Fallout 4 they delayed the release until E3 this year so that they could announce Fallout 4 and release Fallout Shelter all in one and not get hate the previous year for releasing a game that no one asked for in a beloved franchise without announcing a main installment in the series. IMO Nintendo probably should've tried that, the differences being that we don't know if they actually have a console AC planed and if they have that planned for the WiiU or have delayed it for NX in about a couple of years.

After learning more about it, I can understand why people would buy the game. However, I still think it's not interesting enough in terms of the game mechanics that have been shown.
Chibi-Robo Zip-Lash on the other hand is actually something I will be getting, mainly because it reminds me of Umihara Kawase and that is definitely a good thing, even if it's not usual Chibi-Robo.
It's too early for a new Animal Crossing game. Animal Crossing games are meant to be played for a very long time, and New Leaf came out not to long ago. Plus, I feel like Animal Crossing is better suited for handhelds.

Two female developers who worked on amazing series are more humble than hordes of internet feminists who never made a game, but think they're the greatest thing in the industry.
Thank you for the great games, Ms. Kyogoku and Ms. Tabata. Keep 'em coming, and keep inspiring women to actually work on good games.
I've been a gamer since probably 1990. I was given the NES that came with a gun, two controllers and a combination Mario/ Duck Hunt. I disguised my PSP to look like a Nintendo machine since it just felt wrong not having Nintendo on the back. My old NES controllers managed to get slightly warped by the gamer mentality that the harder you mash the buttons, the more powerful the attack will be. When you're eight years old that is a valid belief. It is also valid when you're thirty years old. :) Thank you for making controllers that are more comfortable for the hands! I'm very happy to see women active in making games. It was considered a boy's toy still when I was young. A girl in a video game store was odd.
Aya Kyogoku should host a nintendo direct sometime. Her love of video games is so clear and she has that perfect nintendo since of houmer.

People, be patient for a full Animal Crossing game on Wii U. This board game looks very interesting and fun to play with a group of friends or with the family..
Thanks to RUclips gamers are no longer patient. I would say it's gotten so bad that after a game that they want has been announced, they quickly move on to the next game they want the next day.

My money is on the fact that a major Animal Crossing release will be for the Nintendo NX. Next E3 is probably going to officially announce the console, this was somewhat of a send-off for the Wii U and some new 3DS games.
Let's just hope that the amiibo cards won't be hard to find like amiibo

Nintendo I'm surprised that the people at Nintendo haven't put together some sort of tribute to their own corporate president. It's a shame, really, for a game company that has been a part of many peoples childhoods to not host a memorial for another great person.

Simon Redd Or maybe they are mourning, and keeping a private memorial first before doing anything else. Iwata himself was mostly a modest man to begin with. Who knows what his family has said and mandated. who knows what was in his will. instead you complain to a company that just loved their beloved president. its a shame really.

Won't happen. Company's tend to only do that for the founders. Not to mention if they did it for iwata they would then set a precedent and be expected to do it for everyone else. Plus I don't think that's how the Japanese do things.

Does anyone actually want these games? I mean..for once, I really just want an almost complete rehash, I mean, obviously new things, but just the same good ol' Animal Crossing but on Wii U..is that too much to ask for?

I'm excited for happy home designer, I get lost in Sims or other games that have home decor because it's just really fun for me haha, not so much for amiibo festival, but I haven't seen a lot on it and I'm still interested since I like animal crossing and would like more wii u games. :)
***** i want hhd, amiibo festival doesn't look too bad and it's free, that is if you get the amiibos which most people would want for animal crossing anyway, so this is giving use to that, this doesn't mean ac wii u won't happpen, it could be announced at a later time and be in development now, we don't know though

Most games that are sequels COULD be called rehashes. I think people use that word too much and incorrectly.
Ironically, this kind of spin-off games are LESS like rehashes and then people get MORE mad about it. :P
In addition, I could call Persona 5 a rehash and you might get upset but it's the same as calling Super Mario 3D World a rehash. (I'm buying Persona 5 for the record)
A real rehash is something like The Last of Us: Definitive Edition or Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. The actual changes in these games are... miniscule. They're basically re-selling the same game.
Thought of an idea years ago on how to make Animal Crossing more gnarly. ;)
If you could go up to the side of an animal villager's house and peep in the window (Night or Day) by pressing an "Action" type of button. The field of view would go from the normal perspective to a 3rd person or a high up first person view so you could see inside at a better angle. Peeping in the window, you'd see what they were dreaming about. . Then a lil' cartoon cloud would appear above their heads and in it would be furniture/shirts/whatever they want. Or maybe who their favorite human is. Or most disliked. lol
You go out and see if you can get it somehow. Then surprise them with it sometime later. ;) Then they're like, have you been spying on me? I thought I saw a peeper the other night. lol
Villagers should have security systems for their houses too or at least bright flashing lights. Or not. lol

Hi there! I'd like to point out my opinions on the matter in a friendly way. This is my opinion so please don't murder me, though this is the Internet so I won't be suprised if you did, but I'm pretty sure your a great human being so I will say it. I think these games will be great, for one thing HHD is based around designing houses which to many AC fans is favorite thing to do in the game. It's spinoff for the 3DS so it's not much to complain. As for amiibo party, I can understand why your upset. But there is one thing that it will have, online. That alone makes me curious on how it's going to work. Also there are tons more modes that will be on there, we just have to be patient and wait for trailers to see any improvements. The game will be free but you have to find amiibo. I'm pretty sure nintendo will have stock for them seeing that there required for the game, if they didn't make them, they would loose potential sales. I hope some of the stuff I said will make you less mad about the games. These developers work very hard for your enjoyment and even if the game is not what we wanted, I still give respect for their work on those games. All they want to do is make people smile and let them make memories with friends and family. If you took the time to read this, than thank you. Have a nice day.

Antony P Geez, someone just had to bring up Anita when nobody was even talking about her. Why is it always the people who hate her who make everything about her? Anita is a media critic, and Kyogoku-san and Tabata-san are developers. These people can and do coexist.
You can be a feminist *and* a gamer or even a game developer. My ideologies influence my ideas in many positive ways. We need all kinds of people in this industry and in this world in general. Open your mind and *listen* to another perspective without being rude and judgmental.
NintendoArielle I agree she shouldn't be brought up. But unlike these two people who happen to be developers (that's really unrelated to this subject) _she_ is the one that's extreme and close minded in her extremism without regard for other perspectives. That's the reason so many people are annoyed by her.
If she had a similar (not the same but similar) attitude as these two women she would have been much less hated and looked down upon, and in the long run she would make a more lasting impact.
But of course then she wouldn't be this (in)famous and that wouldn't be great for her income..
She's a "privileged white woman" (to speak her language) who thinks she's fighting for a good cause while destroying the actual reputation of feminism and the efforts of the people that actually make a lasting difference (like people like Tabata-san and Kyogoku-san).

It's nice seeing females doing what typically men do! Plus, females tend to create the cute games that everyone can enjoy, such as Animal Crossing! I love it!
