I got this Offshore 500 Professional watch from an actual professional diver living in East Scotland. I had to cut off the extra length of the band, because this rubber strap can only be used wearing a wet suit. This makes it my only REAL dive watch. After 10 years of watch collecting and over a 100 watches in my collection, this Offshore 500 ended up to be my most worn watch for daily use. It still looks exactly like I bought it brandnew, 5 years ago. No scratches, no wear and tear. I replaced the strap, after 5 years, but that is all. I replaced it for a rubber strap that was on my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier. This watch is the real deal. I do diving in salt water, chlorine water, hot showers, hiking in a rainy forest, on the beach in the sand, everything that can ruin your expensive watch. The lume lasts all night and the accuracy of this watch is +8 seconds a month. Highly recommended.

I found out, that 100% moisturised air can penetrate a watch much easier than actual water. So extensive sweating, especially when the watch is covered by a sleeve for example, gives a pocket of 100% saturated air surrounding the watch. Walk in the rain in a forest for hours and find out your watch has condensation on the inside of the glass. You don't have to dive into the ocean, to get water inside your watch. A water tight watch is not an airtight watch. Nobody seems to test this. Start to workout in the gym. You start sweating. Under the watch is sweat and air. You don't dive, but the effect on the watch is cruel.

nice find dude, and yes as soon as I saw it i thought of the other brands you mentioned later on, possibly a generic make that you can then make your own, looks like the 500m is the better of the two and looks like it'll survive a few dings!!

They are not pandering to the watch community . they mean business. there are very harsh conditions in the north sea. it is a mans watch and 1000s of pounds cheaper than the overpriced Swiss offerings and its powered by a seiko movement, what more could you want!

Great video. Thank you for the comprehensive review. Are you sure about those dimensions? I believe the lug width is 22mm, no?
