Guys, I love your reactions. I’m going to try to explain the “Sal-Pique” word in this song, because is marvelous, together the “Clara-mente”:
Salpique = literally means, splashes you with water o liquid. Methaforically, when you are telling a story about something that could affect in a bad way directly or indirectly a third person, you can say: “I’m sorry if my story splashes you” (Perdón si esta historia te salpica). As may know already, the name of her ex is Piqué, so she does this amazing word game. As she is not telling a good story about her experience, and her ex (and journalists) was complaining because she was making it public, she literally say: “I understood is not my fault that people criticizes you, I’m just making music I’m sorry if “splashes” (Sal-Pique) you”.
The you have Clara-mente. Claramente in Spanish means clearly. Pique’s new lover name is Clara (the one he was cheating on Shakira with), with means Clear, Pure, Transparent. So, she says in one sentences: “she has the name of a good person, clearly is not as it sounds”, “she has the name of a good person (Clara), Clara-mente (clearly) is not as it sounds.”
It’s just insane 🤯

The word “salpique” means when water splashes and a droplet hits “salpica” something else. In the song. She says and I quote “I only do music, I’m sorry it splashes on you” referencing all the hate Pique got for cheating. It’s a word play, since his name is basically Pique and the word Salpique falls perfectly for what she is trying to say.
