Ozzy and Kiwi - Public transport - People don't take calls or speak in a loud voice. Very rarely you might hear people listing to music on speaker.
People usually smile and greet you and start small conversation even when buying coffee or shopping at supermarket checkout counter.
You may head to beaches outside the city and you may find you may feel as if it is your private beach ( hardly any people around).
I prefer silence & quiet in public transport any day.
