Guys, with the size of these goaltenders, and the stress on their joints, bones, ligaments, and so on,at having played the position, myself for over twenty years, now at 76, years old!Well I,am really surprised it doesn’t,happen more often!
The Leafs are going extra cautious this season , any injury is automatic LTIR to store up salary cap for the deadline. Yes they are injuries but if this was playoff time these players would be playing.
Why would they put him in after a game where he stood on his head a couple days before? They even stated they were going to alternate them game by game...wtf?
Next injury the reporters shouldn't even ask about it. Berube may be a good coach, but he definitely sucks at giving injury updates. He could see someone get their arm blown off and say, he'll be ok, day to day.
So who are the the best choices now to back up Woll? Hildeby looked a bit shaky in his last few starts at both the NHL and AHL levels so is he the best choice? Matt Murray left an AHL game with an undisclosed injury weekend before last but then looked pretty good when he returned to the net. Artur Akhtyamov was lights out for his first 9 games in North America but then had a rough start this past weekend. I'm thinking they work Woll like an old time starter and use Hildeby sparingly until he either solidifies his spot as the 3rd stringer or loses the backup role to either of Murray or Akhtyamov. I'm hoping that Hildeby finds consistency and puts the issue to rest.
1. ANY goalie - or any player - can get injured. The NHL is a fast, tough league and the players are big. Shit happens and injuries are the result. 2. What makes you thing you can just go out and “sign someone”? There are a limited number of goalies in this market, and the really good ones are already locked up. What’s left are the older guys who are bouncing around at the end of their career (and are prone to injury), or the young guys who haven’t got the physical or mental experience to survive (although Woll sure seems to have a solid mental approach). 3. The Leafs have amongst the best goalie depth in the league. They have one of those older aforementioned guys in Matt Murray (smart to nurse him back to health), as well as two of the best upcoming goalies in the AHL in Hildeby and Akhtyamov. So… relax and enjoy the ride. There won’t be any new goalies joining the Leafs anytime soon.

The medical team should investigate how a pebble got in his knee. Woll and Hildeby should be suspected as the culprits.

I'm not worried at all, Woll can handle a little extra work load. Hildaby, Matt Murray, and the great Russian can handle the back up easily.
Nice call on Berube saying it was "Day to Day" ..

It sucks, but this needs to be looked at as an opportunity for others to step up.
We won how games with Samsonov last year.... team will be just fine.

Call Jack Campbell, STAT!

Murray is injured too 😂

sign martin Jones
I think they should use Murray. That's what the signed him for this year as that 3rd experienced option behind Stolarz and Woll
@@laurarebel6282 Id like to see murray again, wouldt hurt to see if he could get back into some NHL games, i like hildeby but hes not quite ready
They gotta stop with the day to day garbage
Day-to-day until they know for sure. I'm not sure what's wrong with it.
😢
Of course 😂
Sign a #1 who won’t get injured. This happens every damn season. It’s like the Leafs are magnets for injury prone goaltenders.

Pebble sounds worse than the lump in the throat that had Matthews leave the playoffs.
It's a colloquial term for a loose body in the knee, likely a piece of cartilage that broke off.
Brutal. Now watch. Woll will get hurt too.
Stolarz is the best the rest are trash woll not ready
Lame.
:(
