That's the 1997 version's fault for the setting it up so poorly. They just took what little slices they liked and didn't have any foresight for a sequel. Technically, he's already killed that apostle in the castle, so why would they show it again?
I haven't actually seen the movies myself, as I wager is the same for many other people who follow Berserk. But from what a quick search can gather, I can see the movies weren't produced by the 2016 studio either, and they do hardly introduce Puck, the main character in question here. Either way it goes, This new studio need to introduce Puck somehow, as well as Isidro, and they can't waste time with it, thanks to the stupid 12 episode limit all anime seem to have these days.

There are some scenes in the new Berserk that arent quite bad tbh. And they followed somewhat good the storyline (except the first 2 episodes and the part where they completly forget about Lost child ark). But the overall design, use of CGI and concept is just plain shitty...
It bothers me because I know a massive slab of iron would never make that sound no matter what it hit. It does sound metalic but it's more like a hollow pipe being hit with an axe. On a side note, if I ever become a billionaire I want to pay someone to replace every sound effect in CGI Berserk series into clang. And I mean EVERY sound effect.
Drakelash Yeeess, please do that, and then you pay Madhouse or Bones or some other respectable studio to do a new Berserk anime with the animation, colour design, pacing, directing (and so on) it deserves, starting from where the first anime left of. After that you should also pay for both the old soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa and for the creation of a new soundtrack by him.
Does Madhouse do uncensored? Because I can't understand why they don't censur bodies being torn in half, guts and blood, but nipples OHSHIT ANTICHRIST ON A POGO STICK THAT IS TOO FAR. And yes, Susumu Hirasawa is, as far as I'm concerned, as much a part of Berserk as Guts is to his Clang, I mean Grasses, I mean sword. I also would very much pay top [currency] for the Fake Faery Arc or whatever it's called.
