Absolutely fantastic album. Probably one of the most underrated of all times. To dismiss this as a "Shpongle clone" is immensely unfair. This album is in its own class and it is a masterpiece, a deep psychedelic spiritual journey with indescribable sonic tapestries.
a magnificent void and instability some of the greatest psy electronica masterpieces ever created....these albums from that time are just incredible, shulman were in a rare seen creative zone back then, i would even dare to say they left a mark as some of the greatest musicians ever in my book
Presto manifesto! Purely psychedelic... Wondrously whimsical... A surprise tucked beneath every tone... A joyous communion of spirit and vibration... The rarely repetitive rhythms request reverence and respect... May your spirit rest in the stillness of mind
Thank you so so much for this upload!! I used to have this album in 2007 or 08 or so, some time when I was in college, lol and lost it due to harddrive crashery. It's as amazing as I remember! So chill yet intriguing. Smoking and re-reading the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant with this fantabulous soundtrack in hand, or in ears. Thanks again!
Can anybody here point me in the direction of other artists like Shulman who are simply ahead of their time? I'm familiar with Dave Tipper, Aphex Twin, Richard Devine, etc......but I know there's gotta be some other masterpieces out there that are still flying under the radar. Need some new new to go on a deep dive and listen to!
As a longtime shulman lover, i cant explicitly tell you only artists that are "ahead of their time" but i can tell you of artists that have personally touched me even after the bar has been set so high by shulman. Not all are psydub, but psy and/or dub, and maybe a little bit extra (dubstep, jungle, dnb) Woulg, visible cloaks, ishq, craftal, jafu, geode, mercy, kercha, captivate, om unit, schmoop, erothyme, detox unit, flintwick, zebbler encanti experience, i could go on and on and on. I am also a producer who will be releasing a slight homage to "in search of a meaningful moment" and the marcel proust novel, entitled "in search of lost time" you can find my music under kataphasis on ektoplazm or street ritual. My previous releases come nowhere near anything shulman ever did, but i have been working on this new album for 6 years so that i can maybe hope to come close.
@@patrickkataphasis1967 Nice man thanks for the reply. I see you do have an exquisite taste in electronic music, not many people know who Kercha or Geode are!! Flintwick (Brady) is actually a homie who I see around town from time to time too haha. Schmoop, Detox, all great. But while we're on this whole subject...have you come across Voljum yet by chance? I don't necesarily listen to him regularly, but his sound design is on a level I didn't think someone as young as he is could ever achieve. He's going to make waves! Also as far as psy/dub goes, the EasyJack - Jedi's Chillout mix is one of the freshest I've heard in a while. Highly recommend, although you may already be all over that. I'll definitely give you a listen man, name looks familiar but not sure if I've dug into your stuff before. SC is Miscellaneous Dopeness, you'll see me when I hit you with that follow! I've definitely listened to tons of Street Ritual tunes especially 2-3 years ago. Keep making music man, it's a medicine for others like nothing else.
perhaps the title being a bit too close to a Shpongle title had this album unfairly dismissed. I will see now whether its worthy of my stamp of approval.

@@djsaeg do you know more about what Seb meant? What a damn shame indeed.
I didn't know this album or the one before it existed until today because it's not on streaming services. :O
My only comparison to shpongle is that they are both incredible
