Good review on the rod and reel, bit on the flexible side for what we use in Australia. In slow motion mode didn’t like the recoil as it looked like it was to light . I suppose it’s what you get used to as the 15 foot rod I’ve used for the last 30 years is a lot heavier action. Looks like a good rod for the price.
Hi mate , its aimed at a peron who is a basic caster, who wants a bit more distance from an overhead thump, to be honest I was probably pushing it a bit too hard with the off the ground casts, it effortlessly went a tidy distance with the overhead thumps the first few casts were really good

Thumbs up pal great vid. iam hoping to make it down to Tony’s tackle in the new year I’ve been a fan of his for 20 plus years though sea angler as a child . Also loved mark Albright from deal pier tackle and Alan Yates for his Dover catches . Subd. Just had to add bills bait and tackle Dover the guy was great back in the day.
It doesnt look anything like my Black rock, the nearest rod to it that i have seen is a taylor Q6 or Q7, which i used to own. Which were awesome rods. Only sold them to pay for a Zziplex mg4.
On these reviews they never give you the rod handle measurements from the but to the reel seat, it’s very important.. we’re not all the same size are we ? I’ve just bought a 14ft rod and the handle is way to big for me, I’ve had to strip it all off and re build the handle to my size.. it would have been impossible for me to cast it the way it was !! So it would be helpful to give a handle measurement on all these rods please !
Thanks.. but to be honest it should be a standard thing, sizes must be stated on the tags of the rod, and on the specifications in the listings. I’m not saying that these rods should come in 3 different handle sizes (although it wouldn’t be a bad thing) if I knew the length of the handle and found it to big, then I’ll be forced to look elsewhere.. I wish I knew this information when I bought my rod, if I did, I wouldn’t have bought it.. I did like Tony’s rod (except all the bling) the one you were using looked like a good Al rounder at that price you can’t go wrong ! Well I’m of to buy a fishing jacket, I hope they have more than one size !!
@@kingdom777866 this is why we are running a support your local tackle shop campaign, you should not buy items like rods on line, you should go into a shop and check them out, im assuming the rod you bought, you bought online. If we dont use our tackle shops we are going to lose them.

Hi Just subscribed, great review. Okay, you say you don't need another rod, but we're you tempted? How do you think this compares with the Fury 420? Cheers John
I am tempted, but would need to try the others in this genre before i chose, i havent tried the Fury, the reason i showed the action and bite registration in the video is to help people make that choice.
I didnt cast all of them to be true, but to feel the action it is comparible to other rods of a similar price. Its a forgiving rod that is designed to add range to a conventional overhead caster.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ what reel did you use on this video? as I've posted, I bought the last one of these this afternoon and would have liked to have bought the 7000 reel recommended for it, but that will come later. I have an 8000 surfblaster 2 and a grauvelle 6000 to put me on.
Possibly built on the same blanks who knows just looks like another continental style rod which there are loads of on the market this certainly doesn't look like anything special you can buy similar for alot less.

Good to see Tony on here. I bought my first Cono-Flex Beach caster off him in 1980s. A great guy and full of helpful advice
Yes he is a character.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ He's been great with me over the phone, very patient.
Nice rod good action and design blank looks awesome
It is but im afraid they are all sold. If you want one Tony might be able to find a pre used one.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ is ok going to lure fish this season but the rod was tempting to nice one CJ
Awesome review and all the best to Tonys Tackle!
Thanks, im sure Tony will read your comment, after the Nomads after match session.
I bought the last one of these this afternoon, waiting for it to arrive next week!! Will buy the reel to go with it later in the year.
Great i hope you enjoy it.

Great review chris. Looks a nice bit of kit 4 the dollar. All the best mate from grimsby.

Great rods
Yes mate, really good 👍
Looks a good buy
Without a closer but from what I can see in video it’s a black rock renamed I have same rod ( ps love mine )

I agree looks almost identical to the Blackrock renaissance zt 4200. Just the butt section is a different colour.
I have a pair and love em.
@@happyjones77 the dream 3 looks a great rod, particularly for overhead casting.

Put your lead further round on the off the ground cast the extra rotation will give you more distance.
Thanks for the tip.
Probably snap the thing judging by the sloppiness
On these reviews they never give you the rod handle measurements

I think Tony has identified a gap in the rods market, a rod for the overhead thumper who wants more distance.
Is the tip on the rod a hybrid or hollow carbon? Looks a nice bit of kit
Its not a hybrid.

Each to his own.
