I’m up to get another striker in. I’d prefer someone who could do a job if we get promoted, rather than just a pro-tem championship player. I’d like to see someone else have a go at the 10 role. Ok so Aaronson has been decent recently, but I don’t see him doing so well at the top level if we’re promoted. Piroe doesn’t really tick all the boxes as a 9 or 10. Maybe we need to see the team play to Piroe’s strengths as the striker? I never feel with Leeds that we ever do that with any striker since Beckford, and at the top level since Viduka. It’s as though we play a system first, and get the best striker we can to fit that system.

Bamford’s new injury is neither a worry or a surprise. This is par for the course for him and something we are very used to. If he is out for 6-8 weeks then so what? What has been his contribution in the last 6-8 weeks or last 6-8 months even? He will probably run down his contract (and who can blame him) so until then we are stuck with a No 9 who will probably not play. The bigger issue is Matteo Joseph’s step up hasn’t been as successful as we had all hoped so either we give him more time and persevere with just Piroe in the meantime or we sign another CF in this window if a suitable player is available. Bamford’s latest injury changes nothing really.
Farke is right Leeds UNITED not dived. Its easy for us we don't have the weight of hundred of thousands of Leeds fans on our shoulders. It won't do the team any good to hear the bitching about this that and the other when they are top of the league. Then there's the rest of the country waiting for it to go wrong. Didn't Gnoto play 9 for Italy, as sub against Germany and score, Leeds used him on the wing to keep Bamford of all people happy
