We got just one french surfer on the tour now, Johanne Defay, if i'm not wrong.... For the brazilian it's really not the same. It's understandable that they have to please the Brazilian's public.
I live in Alabama and surf in the gulf of Mexico and it's remarkable how similar these waves look to where I live. The backwash, the closeouts, the chop, it has everything
I dislike how the WSL has to add in these garbage wave locations to play favors to large bodies of fans. Just because there are some amazing Brazilian surfers in the WSL, doesn’t mean they should waste tour stops at bad locations.
I understand this event is a marketing opportunity for WSL but…is it? When you put out a garbage product, you hurt the brand. No more contests at mediocre spots. Thanks.
Salazar in my opinion has always been the more educated, has the right terminology of surfing and it's critical movements more than any other.. Thank you and you kinda I'm Aloha way call out the BS 😅😂😂 from the other announcers
Wsl……..u send the best surfers out in this cr.p. They surf a wave pool???? Then u hold the finals at a wave that hardly ever gets over 5ft….the worst run world event ever😤😤😤 bring back Fiji. The finals at pipeline……wake up
WSL just like to try and make it more stupid if they can, run by a bunch of corporate clowns. Kelly with some backers or something need to start another tour, not for profit or something.

Brazil has almost 8000km of coastline. Surely there’s got to be many better spots than this.
