Yes, it can be a painful process, but it's the first thing regulators/insurance companies/loss adjusters/lawyers will ask for. It's why we have loads of pre-written examples to help get people off to a good start (and save some time/tears) ;-) safeti.com/product-category/risk-assessment/
Excellent video. Nicely explained with example of hazard & risk of fall from height due to use of ladder. Initial risk rating & risk rating after appropriate control measures. Great step by step information. Thank you for uploading this video. I have subscribed. All the best for future work.
When you prioritise risk, it seems to be always done on the basis of likelihood x consequence. But shouldn't there be at least one other factor involved....namely 'When the action is needed by' which is mentioned under the HSE's 'Steps needed to manage risk'. A hazard which may score higher in a risk matrix wouldn't necessarily be as much of a priority as one scoring lower but is needed to have a control level implemented sooner because the activity is going to be carried out sooner for example. What do you think?
Yes, there are a myriad of other factors to be considered when evaluating improvement actions and timelines e.g. work plans, materials/equipment sourcing, resource availability etc. 👍
I enjoyed risk learning risk assessment 10 mins
Thank you for the kind words! It means a lot to know you found the video helpful.
Good video. Although filling out these silly risk assessment forms seem so bloody pointless its unreal.
