I ran a M543 wrecker in Vietnam for 1 year and never had A day off . I ran convoys ,unloaded ammunition at the ammo dump and went out to the field to pull power packs in tracked vehicles. Also I went out on operations with convoys out into the field spending Nites in the cab of my wrecker with a loaded M16 with one in the chamber beside me.The clutch went out after 6 months and a mechanic wanted to fine me for the job. I have lots of stories of my year in Vietnam since i was a draftee and was used like a red headed stepchild. The other four soldiers had signed up for a extra year to get that recovery and evacuation job.

It's not hooked up. Jim was using a heavy piece of steel on the fuel pedal. I need to get it here and figure it out.

It doesn't have an automatic anymore. It's a 6 speed Eaton out of a medium duty Ford.
