Dead Hand Blues have you seen there 2019 lineup at namm the Gibson sg’s all have wiggle sticks they brought back their classic vibe so best way of saying it is Gibson is back to there roots 👍

I have a soft spot for Fenders, but the SGs always catch my attention for the sound. Look up Sister Rosetta Thorpe - she was a gospel singer who played an SG and is playing a rock style before rock.

i agree, its one of the better sounding guitars ive heard. it sounds so sweet straight up, you'd be able to dial in some truly godly sounds on that thing. i wish i would have had the chance to buy it

John Anderson you hit the nail on the head. That is a Rosetta Thorpe. White just like hers. Notice no other comments. Cause hardly anyone knows Rosetta.

@@mateodelcastillo7186 I knew of Rosetta long ago I keep arguing to guys that Rock n Roll was started by a woman but they won't believe me.. Hendrix used one and the late Glen Buxton of the Alice Cooper also had one which replaced his old pink Les Paul that got stolen. The white Sg went missing for years since Glens passing was found and Neil Smith had it restored The original neck was broken and couldn't be re-attached and Dennis now owns the broken neck
Tim Pierce she is one of the main links between slave chants/gospel/Rhythm and Blues /rock billy / British Invasion/ modern rock. The brits were listening to her in the early 1960’s. she heavily influenced popular guitar culture as well

Position 2 sounds more like bridge and middle out of phase - which is what I thought it was supposed to be. If I ever wanted one of these, it wasn't really because of the standard players associated with the SG; it was because of Terry Alan Kath.

I’ve got a ‘74 SG Custom. Stop-tail, harmonica bridge, original Super Humbucker pickups replaced with Mojotones: Alnico 4 magnets and slightly unbalanced (and unpotted) coils. Also replaced wiring harness: 3 vols, 1 master tone, middle pickup bypasses selector switch and is in phase with the others. Plays & sounds fab. Heavier body than typical, makes for better balance.
This ‘66 sounds great, but with some mods an early/mid ‘70s version delivers the same goods at a much more reasonable price.
Sister Rosetta Thorpe had this guitar! Beautiful!

Well your not far off on the denim thing. Gibson made "Blueberry Burst" the standard color for the 2019 Les Paul Standard. Would NOT own a blue guitar of any type[a Pelham blue Trini Lopez I would]. Blue just don't work for me on a guitar

There's a misconception that 3 pickup Gibsons have the middle one out of phase, which is completely false. It's just natural phase cancellation from the positions the pickups are physically, like the 2 and 4 positions on a 5 way strat. If they were indeed out of phase they would sound really, really bad together as the tonal content from the middle and neck or middle and bridge is very similar (much more than bridge and neck out of phase, where most of it is already cancelled) so a really big chunk of it disappears if they go out of phase. Plus, at least in the 50's style 3 pickups the middle position was bridge and middle instead of neck and middle.
Agree with everyone else here. Great guitar with enough vibe to always make you feel satisfied. If you want to hear a great version of Hey Joe, search the tube for Roy Buchanan's live version. I think a few are floating around out there.
