Hi Dave....i enjoyed your straight taking review, and i think your unique background and experience in our fun RC hobby, is always wonderful to hear about.....i like that you combine your Hi-Tech knowledge with an everyman's needs and use.....Thanks again!....fastphil USN retired
loved seeing this fly. i knew they were popular at the time too bad you cant still get them but nothing lasts forever. just 10 years ago the helicopter hobby had so much more life to it. as always it was a great video. love watching your stuff the first video i saw of yours was back in 2007 and now i cant miss a video
Yes, I loved this heli too. Your right. The air in some cases has been left out of the RC hobby. I appreciate your long time support. Thanks much and stay well.
I appreciate that manufacturers do not pay you Dave, I can not understand why I have only recently ventured into helicopters and I find your reviews to be of quality. If I buy I check and see if you have tested it as you give it straight. Kindest regards David from Scotland.
sorry this comment wont make you any money but still need to say how much i enjoyed this video and want to thank you for the time effort love and dedication you put into this hobby and always willing to share your knowledge thanks bud happy flying my friend !!
Hi Dave (hope i may address you that way), just letting you know i enjoy your videos and hope you keep uploading heaps more info for me and other people that not only enjoy but also learn from your well seasoned knowledge and hobbytime. Great job!
Ya, it's above seasonal temperatures here in Sudbury Ontario, cold, still good flying weather for us rc plane, heli, or whatever pilots. The lakes up here provide a great flying field,...um....weather permitting! During the winter. -bon vol r/c
Very nice. Nothing wrong with a tail motor for regular flight. Right now I am struggling with my second 450 clone and tail issues. Cannot get in the air. It's a pain. I'm never going to do 3D. This looks like a nice alternative to the micros.
I am surprised that you would review a dying brand here in the U.S., but hats off to you for doing so, Dave. I used to be able to get the parts I needed for my Walkera 4#6 from one of my dealers in Pa., but they have since liquidated all of their Walkera products because of how the brand doesn't give them prompt reasoning as to why their shipments hadn't made it to them on expected delivery date. Nonetheless, I still love my 4#6 despite how hard it is to find parts stateside.
Well OMP implemented a solution for E.T.R.M. tail authority problems by integrating the main motor into the control loop for the tail. The gyro will actually dynamically vary main motor's rpm to help make corrections to the tail.
So did many others long before OMP did it. I have the OMP direct drive heli, and also 3 of the direct drive Eachine 180's, which are much better. Tail authority is good, but loud. But back 10 years ago when I made this video, things weren't as advanced as they are now, but certainly more than when I invented the ETRM for Kyosho.
Hi Dave, great review, Its good to have a non biased review of a product, Nothing is hidden if the Heli has niggling faults that you only find out after you have spent your money, What camera do you use and how do you attach it to your Hat / Cap, cheers ,
I was looking at thus heli as my first 6ch heli but decided to purchase the Master CP which is also made by Walkera. Its 50 bucks more but looks a lot more durable. I found my heli on Helipals web site and it also come preprogrammed and bound.
what a great review is this..I really enjoy your videos. I am ready to get my first cp heli, and i am between Master cp or this one..Well, which one could you suggest me? Thank you :)
I bought the same heli last year, and want ever able to hover it for a Cooke minutes before disaster strikes. The tiniest contact of the blades with the ground immediately brakes the cheap servos that comes with it. The frame its also made out of crystal, because, it also bent and brakes easily. I fox mine about 5 times and spent more money on spare parts than on the heli itself. Now that's fixed again, the receiver isn't working, so in orfe to fix out I need to invest anther $65. I quit trying.
Another honest and un-biased review as well as infomative video. I don't see how it can get much better than this! Maybe you-tube needs to learn how to pay you more based on the truth of the video instead of the number of views. At least I know, as well as many others can trust in what you're telling us. That in itself speaks volumes...
Where was this found for $159 with a Devo 7. I would buy one right now. It's not available. They have the Exceed version for $205. Not a good deal anymore at all.
I apologize for all the grammar errors on my last three comments. My phone's auto spelling corrector mess up whatever I write if I don't pay attention and review what I wrote before sending it. I forgot to check, so it got posted with all those errors. I'm sorry for that.
well said dave after 1600 videos ive prefer not to do any free advertising for xheli, align etc ive gotta learn how to blur things out these company's make 1000's of bucks off our vids and we dont even get a emal of thanks. i support you and the viewers keep the good bids coming. liked
By the way, my respect to you, you are a great pilot sir. Isn't your fault that this helicopter is such a cheap crappy one. If one is an expert pilot like you, then no matter what aircraft you fly, they are all going to look super nice and easy to fly. If you are an average pilot like me, then you are going to discover the hard way that not everything is as easy as it looks on all this videos. I might give the Durafly Autogyro a try. Thanks for your fair reviews. Have a nice day.
It is a nice looking helicopter, but just that. That heli was made out of the cheapest materials walkera found. So if you have experience flying 4 channel helicopters and want to transition to 6 channel, this isn't a good choice. All you are going to learn with this heli is to be a good mechanic. You'll spent more time on your repair table than on the air. I might poor mine for sell on Ebay for whoever is willing to by the receiver and keep spending time and money fixing this thing.
What do you think of the radio? I'm split on a Devo or a Turnigy. Looking for a radio for PnF park fliers. Would like to have flaperon mixing option and room for retracts and flaps. Head to head radio review?
Nice video Dave. I too have this Heli. Very nice bird. i bought it as my first fly bare less. I found a up grade for it you may like. RTF-HELI . com has a main motor up grade and servo's, the stock servo's are pritty cheep and strip easy. with the motor up grade you can go too full 450 class . And also fit a larger lipo..... Take a look....
Love it when you do retrospective videos like this, always entertaining to see how far we've came.
Another great video Dave, keep them coming, always entertaining and informative. We always appreciate the honest and non biased reviews
Thanks for the review. thank you for doing reviews on the cheap Volkswagens and the history, no one else does it like you do!
