Hi everyone, I am not thinking about leaving RUclips. I made this video so folks could understand a little better how RUclips works, what it is like to be a video creator on RUclips, and give some experience for those thinking about starting a channel on RUclips. I hope you find some insights in it.

Today on Farmer Tyler Ranch, he listed ''Just A Few Acres Farm'' as one of the channels he follows.....one very real farmer/rancher following another..... that's like meeting at the local Grange has been augmented by YT [Grange, was founded in 1867 to advance methods of agriculture, as well as to promote the social and economic needs of farmers in the United States ] but YT can be the problem too. Real procedures necessary to farm life...like processing animals...are banned from YT....that is crazy and counterproductive.

Hi in a past life I was a taxi driver and unfortunately I got many customers who would complain about which route I took to get them to their destination as the driver before me went this way and the fare was 10 cents cheaper, what a lot of them didn't realise that traffic conditions could change at any point or a particular way was blocked by road workers or a myriad of other conditions would arise so in the end I would just follow their instructions and see how that went often times the fare was greater than when I went my way any way just ignore the haters they won't go away unfortunately please have a great day Peter from Melbourne Australia

Pete, I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now. I started when I lived in the city with my bantam chickens, cats and dog. Now I’m outside the city on 22 acres. I wear my Just a Few Acres hoodie with happiness all the time! Because of you, I was able to raise my first litter of piglets safely by building them a safe warm corner like you do. In a year when I started a farm and found out I had cancer, I decided to keep going and your videos have encouraged me the entire way. I did sell my boar and butchered two of my breeding sows when I found out I had cancer because I wasn’t sure what the future would bring. I ended up keeping four of my piglets to grow out (maybe keep one as a future breeder); I have two easy keeper adult pigs ; I had my first Dexter calf born here and now have one young bull, one cow and two heifers. I have 13 Blue Slate turkeys (I’ll butcher 5 of the toms and keep the rest to try to create a bigger flock next year. I have 45 Brown Chinese geese!! 6 are ganders and the rest geese. A few started to lay this year and their eggs are soooo good! They also protect my chickens. I will have raised and processed ~300 broilers this year (first time ever) and I was a lifelong vegan/vegetarian. I did 225 Freedom Rangers, 30 Cornish, 25 Kosher Kings and 25 Sassos. I have raised 345 egg layers! 45 laying the last 2 months and the rest to lay soon 😳 I adopted some feral cats for the barn and I have two Maremma dogs now besides my Pyr mix and Poodle (and pet cats). You helped inspire all of this!! I’ve been using a strict ketogenic diet to fight my cancer. It’s been stabilized a long time and I will have surgery right after Thanksgiving and hope to never deal with Cancer again🙏🏽 This year has been one of my best and your channel has hugely contributed to that!! Many thanks to you, Hilarie and your entire family, especially Patty!!

Pete, I’m a teacher and a RUclips creator. People automatically assume that I’m outgoing and a social butterfly. I’m not. I’m actually a huge introvert. Making videos has given me the freedom to be heard. I’m not afraid to talk to my camera. And people listen to my homesteading advice and videos because of the content. But you hit it on the nail. Hurtful comments, well, they hurt. Sometimes my character is attacked or people come after my choice to live a simpler way of life. At first it was difficult to read those comments. Now I remove them and move on. Being a content creator is often a lonely and misunderstood pathway.
But I admire your hard work and your channel. It’s the right blend of humor, knowledge, and cute animals. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve made a positive impact on our life and my RUclips channel. Blessings.

Pete, thanks for taking the time to share your opinions and provide us with a little of the behind the scenes of a RUclipsr and how it affects your family. It’s amazing today how people find issues with even the best things. It seems to be a trendy thing to do on all platforms. This channel brings a certain calmness to my day. Watching Pete go through his day. Thanks for your time and effort Pete. It’s appreciated.

Hi Peter. I enjoyed hearing from you. It is amazing how so many people love giving advice. We have gotten our share of criticism in our lives. My husband and I have been married for 47 years and have always had to guard ourselves from family members. Everyone thinks they know better. How strange that people feel they understand our household and why we do what we do. We do what we do because it works for us. And even though the negativity comes our way we usually never return comments back at them. And then judged for being quiet. We are because it never seems to be beneficial. People like this don't really want any input from you. They know it all, after all!! Be well. 🥰

Absolutely love your channel, Pete! I love to sit down at my desk and live vicariously through you and your beautiful family and get a small slice of the farm life I long to live. Your attitude towards life is a huge reason why this channel has been one of my favorites. I just love your positive attitude, your goofy dad jokes, and your love for the life you live.

Thank You Pete for letting me know how it works, I was always wondering just what went into these videos and what you all have to do everyday. As for those who bring negative comments into your videos just ignore them and don't give them any notoriety or a second thaught. I am just a couple years older than you are Pete and yes I agree with you on the subject as to why are people so negative anymore. I don't let them infiltrate my life or influence me at all about anything I do or believe.... Just keep being you and do your thing and ingore all of the negative. The channel . PS Don't feed the beast in your videos Pete, don't give them any satifaction in knowing that you read there comments.

When I was a kid I worked on a grain farm with about 20 head of cattle and International tractors so what's not to like about your channel. I really enjoy your tractor restorations and hope to see more of them. I think you and your family do a fine job with your farm and I'm glad that everything we see goes fairly smooth.
