This looks great! I have seen other recipes for Strawberry Pretzel Salad, and yes, they use 2 cups of crushed pretzels and 1-1/2 sticks melted butter. I am thinking that your pretzels look almost pulverised to crumbs, as opposed to crushed, and perhaps that could be the reason the butter floated to the top and you had to add more pretzels? Just a thought.
