Lol foreal my guy. It's to the point where I get excited for these economic a to b cars
@@dakikmister10 lol right? It’s nice that the compact sedans are getting nicer design, interiors, and tech all around. I actually don’t think I would even bother with a mid-size sedan tbh. It’s either a small car like these or a crossover or SUV for me
It’s very important that the car insurance price of Honda Civic is twice as expensive as Toyota.
Fake news
I'd take the corolla apex all day long
Still looks like a Ford focus
@@mikegta14 ok and
Just wait till the si rolls up

Same, Civic's design is so bland
Tough choice! I’d definitely go with the Corolla hatch though.
I just bought a civic, it’s 10th gen and personally I think the 10th gen is the best looking for the civic. The 11th gen looks too much like an accord and they r supposed to b different vehicles. It’s too soft of a design, I wish it was more aggressive
The Civic Hatchback will have a manual. It’s just the Civic Sedan that doesn’t have one
This is correct.
No manual, no purchase for me. Manual gets better gas milage and more reliable.
@@Imleocalm pretty sure modern cvt/automatics get better gas mileage than manuals nowadays
CVT kill's the spirit of the Civic. Tthis car reputation was build on fun, dynamic, and personality. This desigh is nothing but a smaller Accord, witch has not won any price either. The usual buyers of Civic were young, esrly 20's, ...Now they're targeting baby boomers who don't have anough money to buy Accord.
Reability is still there, thank god.
Dynamic's, they've lost it completely. And it's not a cvt (snowmobile transmission) that will fix it. And if you want fuel economy, go to electric.Of course there is the Si and the type R, but those two total no more than 5% total of there sails.
Look, that's just my opinion...
I have alot of my friends, who had Civic's in the past, some more than 3 from different generation, and they all agree that it's not a civic but just a smaller Accord...
@@Imleocalm That's not the case anymore, now CVT and high gear transmissions get better MPG and more faster than the human motion
The rear taillights look boring on both. The last gen civic has such unique and cool taillights in MHO.
Last gen was ugly as sin
@Alpha Omega Yeah, smoking that truth bud
@Alpha Omega I can't help it. I just hate all hatchbacks
That Corolla trim is lowkey kinda cool.
insanely overpriced though. base price of $30,000 USD is unacceptable for a car that only has 169 horsepower
I’d take the civic, I felt the previous gem was kind of over the top. The Corolla I thought looked great, but I like the mature look of the new civic.
16:02 The Corolla looks so cooooooooool!!!!
I love how TheStraightPipes treates us StraightPipers like fam... you've earned my sub, + I love the Civic 22.

New fan here, just realized cliche corner is like 15 minutes away from me 0_0
Where's cliche corner I wanna take a spin there
where is it?
@@tbbbo in a collab with Jason from engineering explained, TSP didn't seem like they wanted the location of cliche corner to be revealed
Drop a pin
Most of their filming location are within each other. Discovered CC by accident one day I wanted to find some curvy roads on the way home from work.
love listening to music while I enjoy driving. So glad Honda decided to upgrade to BOSE and replace their own sound system.
I love how great economy cars are becoming
i don’t really care for the apex body kit. i do love those wheels tho. but i’ll take my 2020 corolla XSE over these two. thanks
yea especially those hatchbacks are sexy imo
TOYOTA COROLLA 😎👍🏻
I pick the Civic for: higher resale value, better driving dynamics and better interior.
I'd go with the Corolla for long term ownership and a sportier look.
@Juan Dela Cruz except possibly the turbo
The corolla’s front raked hood kinda looks like a mid 2000 civic’s
Exactly and it looks hideous asf
It’s ugly
So ugly that it's beautiful
Toyota make reliable car that’s what to consider. I never seen a corolla need an engine swap mostly honda civic.
On the long run, the Corolla is a better choice.
Had issues with my 2016 civic touring.
System was crushing every 2-3 months.
Oil dilution problems...
And that was a 2 years old car...I eventually traded it. 🤷♂️☹
Toyota stays safe away from the Turbos.
@@JustChillingNahhhhMean just buy the 2.0L naturally aspirated civic lol
Just got my black 2022 honda civic sport yesterday! I’m so happy for it

Makes since 😂

@@HAA0603 maybe meant to say “makes since 1970s” like car makers :)
Correction:
Previous gen civic did have the sensitivity touch door handles.
They are referring to the door lock. It's a button on the previous gen
I'd take the Corolla with a manual all day long
Bought the 2022 Honda Civic Touring yesterday, I pick it up on Monday. Rides nice and I like all of its options.
As a 40+ year old who would love to drive a type R without it looking like something from matchbox, I really hope the new Gen is not only improved but more toned down
I’m in high school so I love the styling, I mainly just would want a 5th seat and heated seats. Those would be the big downsides for me
I’m usually biased towards Toyota, but I’d actually take the civic
As a new dad I very much appreciate the car seat portion of your reviews now. Keep up the good work boys! 👍🏿
damn, u ruined your life. good luck
Now imagine the Type R :0
I bet it will look a lot better than the previous generation model.
@@snakeeyes9246 I hope
Probably they're going for the direction of European beefed up trim style, like m3's with their 3 series
I can't wait to see it
@@snakeeyes9246 I have a feeling its going to be more toned down then last year.
It is surprising how good and how this cars still gettin better over time. 180 hp in a non sport civic it is really impressive.
So glad you guys have metric units for this video.
I’m surprised both of these cars comes with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 tires from the factory! They are not the best summer tires, but I was insanely impressed with their winter snow performance. They were very close to feeling like dedicated winter tires, but handle much better in the dry than a winter tire would. I would definitely put them in a top 5 of all-season tire
Awh where the “I’m Jakub, and I’m Yuri, and we’re going from point A to point B.” ☹️
I would go Civic, it's the more dailyable car which is what you want in this segment but the manual makes it look so much more fun :o
Just hit 53k miles on my 2015 Civic. Zero problems.
That right camera is amazing on the old civic, it’s like cheat code when ur trying to exit quickly in traffic
Exactly. I have it on my accord and it’s my favorite feature of the entire car
Corolla looks soooo good!
The *COROLLA* Just Looks Much Better..
We DON'T Need Another *_ACCORD._*
I hate so much the Digital gauges can’t believe this dude likes those 🤦🏽♂️
As someone who loves both, Toyota usually wins for exterior, looks and style but Honda usually wins for interior, function/performance.
