    Nice video. Ive been trying to learn as much as I can over the past couple months. I would love to see a video of EXACTLY how you set up your radio to the bl2 and also the nano s3. Like how you have the flight modes (idles 1, 2) and gears?? green, blue, red led on heli. Servo calibration, rates, expo, all that good stuff. I have one switch for normal, stunt 1, and stunt 2. Then a separate switch for the actual flight modes of the heli, green, blue, and red LED. I also have my own method for calibrating the servo, where they led blink purple. Anyway....Would like to see how you do it. Cheers!

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 года назад

      So personally I do not use any expo Dual rates anything like that. I like 100% travels and no dead band. I like to get the helicopter sensitive and fast as I possibly can. I fly around middle sticking all helis. I don’t move my sticks far at all my whole flight. I have never calibrated the servos, I’ve done trim flights but that’s it. I keep all of my flight modes on the same switch for all helicopters. It is my B switch upper left-hand corner. My flight modes and normal Idle 1 and Idle 2 are the same switch.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Thats cool, i personally have never been a fan of expo. Been racing RC cars for 7 years, and never use expo for anything. I just like a direct linear feel. On my nano s3 i set 3 different "rates" on my F switch. 100, 115, and 125 travel with no expo. Im sure I will get it all sorted out, and I know some of this is personal preference. Would be cool to see a video on how you do it.

    I enjoy the build you have done here. I am looking at doing some upgrades to one of two BL v1's that I have here soon. But I had two questions.
    1. Do you use, and or have any videos on how the Swash Plate leveling tool is expected to be used? I am sure you have a better method you use with your time in Heli's but trying to see if it is worth it as I am trying to troubleshoot some issues with one of the BL's that I have.
    2. What are your thoughts on the 3-blade Tail rotor blades? Some say it over works the motor.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      It is a very nice area to fly! Only issue is length of the grass and it is very uneven in some areas so landing flat can be a problem.

    Do you notice it bog any more than stock since it's heavier?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 года назад

      No not at all. It actually fly’s way better and has more power because of that third blade.

    • @Thrashaero
      @Thrashaero 2 года назад

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Cool. I would think though that since you have extra weight and another blade slapping the air, it would require more torque and maybe less headspeed so maybe a 7t pinion instead of 8t...but if it flies better in your opinion then nevermind but it might matter in longevity.
