I'm really looking forward on seeing a new Delta OL as well, I need a new jacket for very cold weather. But Ace I'll get too as soon as its available. My wife and I do a lot of backpacking and mountain climbing; I’ve found that if you add a down or quality synthetic insulation layer under a quality soft shell, you end up with a high quality winter coat. I just ordered this for work (I’m required to have Ranger Green tactical outer garment), so I ordered the Brown Grey version. The winters here In Pennsylvania get pretty wet and chilly (often down to 0°F), so I will add in an additional insulation layer or two under this jacket. I ordered one size larger than needed to accommodate insulation layers. It’s also light enough and vents well enough that I can use this as a spring/fall jacket in wet weather. It’s exactly what I was looking for!!! Can’t wait to get it!
@@martynasdabuzinskas7042Dude, good question. I love it. It’s not light weight enough to be considered a backpacking jacket (I still use traditional layering systems for that), but as far as utility goes, it’s awesome! Last October I was helping out at an all-day range event, it was just warmer than freezing, and raining ALL DAY. I eventually put a hard-shell on over this jacket to keep it from wetting through. This guy kept me warm and dry. I’ve used it on a number of SRT call-outs and it’s been awesome. I’m very happy with it
Wihout even talking about it, you changed everyhting I wanted to change myself in next gen... Awesome work, big step ahead with my already favourite jacket.
Thanks for providing this awesome feedback. This really means a lot to all of us and we hope that our gear will provide you with a lot of comfort, in whatever weather or situations you find yourself in 😎🤙
I owned the gen2 jacket and it was great!! I sold it just because of the wrist warmers. Gripping a Handgun with these wrist warmers wasn’t nice. So: Yesterday I ordered the new gen3 and I‘m looking forward to it!!!! I think it might be perfect 🤩 soon I do a review on my channel 👍🏼
I had the opportunity to try the jacket. Wonderful quality and features. Unfortunately, the jacket looks a bit odd on a non-muscular person. The jacket can really accommodate thick upper arms. On an average person, the sleeves look like puffy sleeves, but the rest of the jacket is a great tight fit. But as a whole, it doesn't look harmonious. I wanted to like the jacket so much, but had to send it back.
Did I mention that I'm glad that the wrist warmers are gone? I wonder if it might rain into the evaporation zone on the upper back. Nevertheless, I'm so satisfied with UFPro(ducts) that I highly doubt I will resist the siren calls of that jacket. How about a little more Flecktarn in the product line?!?
@@peterkukolik8402 Probably just a personal issue. I thought they were uncomfortable. So I cut them off. On most of my cold weather base layers there are already some wrist warmers, so the ones on the the AcE Winter Shirt were redundant. Basically it's just me, not liking them. Your mileage may vary... :)
Our new Delta AcE Plus Gen. 3 tactical winter jacket does not have wrist warmers, as we collaborated with several professional teams in the development of this jacket, and based on their feedback that they don't need wrist warmers, we decided not to include it in the new generation.
No they aren't, Sergey. But compared to the previous model, we are using a Nylon fabric for the outer material, which is much more durable, than the previous one.
According to the tests we have done, the new and improved face layer is much more durable, so there is no need for additional Cordura reinforcements, and of course, the jacket is a bit lighter 😎🤙
Sorry for the late answer. It is definitely not a rain jacket, especially if it is really pissing at low temps(???). I would assume that in such conditions each of us has his own preference. I would put a hardshell on top.
Its a bit too much. Use it at +5/-5 if you are static. A good woolpower 200 shirt under it is mostly enough. Keep in mind this is a jacket when you are highly active. So if you just standing aroubd u might get cold. The back and chest area isnt that insolated because you usualy wear a platecarrier. I would suggest get one, try it one and get outside. The fit is pretty slim fit. Im 190 and need XL/XXL
Delta AcE Plus is suitable for temperatures down to -10º C when you are physically active and produce heat. In case you are not, the jacket is suitable for temperatures over 0º C. The comfort zone also depends on the quality and the number of layers underneath the jacket. So, for lower temperatures we would therefore rather recommend the Delta OL 4.0 jacket, which offers lightweight thermal insulation for sub-zero degrees and is suitable for temperatures down to -25º C if you are physically active and produce heat.
Thanks for the top notch Product presentation! The hood is a great addition! One question though: How much warmer is this compared to the Hunter FZ jacket, which looks kinda similar and is also utilizing cocona microfleece? Is there a substantial difference and will the ACE be warm enough even for periods of non activity in a typical austrian winter?
Hi Birnenstich. Compared to the Hunter FZ, the AcE Plus is much warmer, as it does not allow wind to penetrate in the soft shell areas and in addition it has G-Loft lined sleeves. Is it warm enough in Austrian winters, while you rest?? Mmmh. I personally would definitely put either a hard shell jacket on top, to store more air between both jackets, or/and even opt for warmer under wear or the OL jacket on top
The sizing already takes layering into account, so if your chest is 103 cm, the size L should still fit comfortably with a sweater or hoodie underneath.
Hi! Tell me, please, is it possible to take size M if the height is 183 cm (arm length 78-80 cm), and the chest is 96-98 cm? Won't the sleeves be short? Thanks!
Hi Sergio, for the above measurements we would advise size M which corresponds to the arm length between 76 - 80 cm. The length of the sleeve should be appropriate in this case. This jacket looks like a light wind jacket to the average guru. We all buy cheap things in life and we all know that you really do get what you pay for. Going to your local sporting goods store and buying a mossy oak jacket for the winter for $75 and then buying the matching pants that comes with it with the elastic waist for the turkey. The pants are like wearing baggy pajamas they collect stickers and sand burs.. then after you get all the stickers off you will notice your back is wet. Then all of a sudden your swimming in your jacket then you get back home ur debating of washing It or letting dry and start to stink. Then there's the problem you either stink and stay wet in the field, or wash it or put on deodorant and blow your position and basically you waist all your time and money with going cheap. I received my Gen 3 Dec 28th 2022. My first time putting it on I put on all my gear as if I was going out. When I zipped up my vest my first breath I took in with the Gen 3 i felt like I was not wearing a vest. My chest wasn't feeling restricted with my gear, in the field having too much padding on your core from your winter jacket can put strain on your breathing. Which effects your endurance and makes your core start to sweat below freezing. Then I realized my arms weren't restricted either! They felt free to move up over my head which normal jackets will pull the bottom up expose your ass to cold air. The distribution in insulation from the core and your limbs are perfect. Your arms stay warm, your core doesn't over heat and get wet. You stay dry, your scope doesn't instantly fog becuase your body isn't trapping the moisture like a cheap jacket and that moisture come up from your chest and instantly fogs your scope, that alone right there is worth $350. But wait there's more. Storage access for this jacket is very legit. When your in the field and the enemies are coming in and you are fogged out accessing storage on any pocket is nice because the zippers are high end, they don't bind or snag, and most importantly they don't make any noise on a quick access. I run p40 for above freezing and to blend in with the public and not get a second look at. If I below freezing I'll be using my striker xt with thermal under but I don't wear my strikers in public because people give strikers a second look. For public interaction the p40 blends in very well and nobody will know that you are decked the f out in the most advanced gear available in the world. Haha. Anyways nother day for pant review. Being and to hold your rifle and keeping your eye in the scope and using the lower arm storage for micro fiber cloth is nice, just like having cargo access while driving or sitting/squatting. This gear is legit! Your free and not restricted to access storage (quietly) you really stay dry and I love. I've been electrocuted my striker xt on my inner thigh, I've fallen 6 feet off of a tree that was struck by lightning and I was mounting a cam, I've been hung up on barbed wire twice with my p40 and when I get the snag off expecting a hole or rip there was no damage. Can this gear rip? Yes it can rip and it can tear. But when you pay good money good gear you more careful around things like barbed wire fences. I run a gopro on top of my halo so I'm always recoding In both thermal and normal day lens. I have hours and hours of use with this gear.
