You just go the website www.sofworld.org and apply for registration and pay there.. in case of any queries, you can write them mail at their mail address, already given in their websites.. And the last date for registration of any exam is 15 days before that exam (better register one month before ).. like if NSO is in mid November, the last date of form filling will be somewhere in October End.. I know that right now I am not that much eligible to suggest you any books or tips to crack JEE, but you may get benefits from books like; 👉HC Verma for Physics, it is sufficient for jee mains physics, as far as I know and if you want to touch Advanced Level, you may go for some other tough books like Irodov, and coaching material (can be purchased or even downloaded on internet, but you would have to search a lot, but you will definitely get that) Other books for physics include HRW, DC Pandey, Krotov, BM Sharma.. 👉For Maths, you can go for RD Sharma for both 11th and 12th.. This will clear all your concepts for atleast Jee Mains level.. once you complete it, go for some other books designed for Advanced (Cengage, Arihant books are also good for Mains).. 👉Then comes Chemistry, *NCERT* is GOLD MINE.. Just go through every single line of it.. it is sufficient for Mains.. For advanced, again, you can download or purchase any coaching material (Allen notes are available on jeemainguru.com) That's it brother.. As your school has provided 'school code' fill it up in the space given in the form. Also fill up 'yes' in the column for ' whether your school participated earlier.... as your ward's school has been participating in the sof in the past, although it is for 3rd standard onward... Nevertheless it should not matter much because this year exams are to be conducted in online mode only. Gud luck.
I don't think that for a class-1 student, any coaching assistance is required at all to crack this exam.. You just need to give her a good guidance so that she can *understand* the question herself and then try to solve it (herself). Just try to uprise her interest towards problem-solving, she will give her best then.. All The Best 👍😊
Class and section refer to the ones which i had in school, when I appeared for the exam, like 9th C or 10th B etc.. Rank refers to where you stand among others based on your marks. Three types of ranks are given in the result: 1) Zonal rank (where you stand in your zone) 2) City rank (where you stand in your city) 3) International rank (where you stand internationally ) Hope it helps 👍😊
Of course there are many.. but that depends on your location as well.. If you live in renowned cities like Delhi, chandigarh, jaipur, bhopal, mumbai etc., then you can join Aakash, FIITJEE, Allen, Narayana, Rao, VMC, Sri-Chaitanya and many more.. (in my opinion though, to crack these sof olympiads, you need not join any coaching.. just be consistent and confident from your side).. Good luck

No no, you took it wrong.. I was discussing about higher classes in the video. No physics will be asked to a 3rd standard kid. Some basic questions of daily science will be asked. You may refer to Sample Papers in SOF website, to get an overview of pattern.

For Nso, you will have to prepare yourself for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology depending upon your stream. For physics, you can go for HC Verma, and can buy question bank online (some good books are available on mtg.com too). For chemistry, NCERT is sufficient. But be sure here also to solve as many questions as you can. And for Mathematics, (being a PCM student myself), I recommend you to go for RD Sharma.. this book is just amazing.. more than 300-400 questions available for each chapter and those too solved in a very lucid manner. If your are targeting maths for NSO, I think RD Sharma is sufficient. (In case you are biology student, you should buy some good books online, moreover i don't have much idea about this stream). For a class 1 student, you need not rely on school-books and all. Just make sure to make him aware of general science, and keep asking him questions on basic science. You can download a sample paper from www.sofworld.org , to get a feel of exam pattern. Good Luck 👍
Yes, this year, form-filling will take place online, and the exam will be written at home. You can register either through school (if it is enrolled in SOF) or you can fill the form online as well (on the official website of SOF).

As per the eligibility criteria of NSO by SOF foundation, students of class 1st to 12th are eligible to apply for the level 1 exam. There is no mention of streams for class 11 or 12 students. However it is very rare to see an Arts student writing NSO. Yet if you are interested, check out about the registration forms in your school.In my opinion, I think for an Arts student, it is better to go for other olympiads like IEO, IGKO, NCO, etc. Thanks
Hi. First of all, you must be clear with your basics. For that, i suppose you must've already completed ncert (or any of your school book) by now. Next, start solving RD sharma (full, examples + exercises). There is nothing more needed. (Since you'll start RD sharma now, you may not be able to complete it by December. But don't worry, it'll make a solid base for you, which will be helpful in 10th standard IMO.) Good Luck 👍
Ya , I am cleared with my basics but i am only left with circles and areas and volumes around 3 chapters left. And ya i have solved rs Aggarwal and ncert and also right now i am solving rd sharma. So i have thought of completing my revision work this month and then i will complete the chaptersz left . So , should i solve previous year papers for better clarity ?? Of course there are many.. but that depends on your location as well.. If you live in renowned cities like Delhi, chandigarh, jaipur, bhopal, mumbai etc., then you can join Aakash, FIITJEE, Allen, Narayana, Rao, VMC, Sri-Chaitanya and many more.. (in my opinion though, to crack these sof olympiads, you need not join any coaching.. just be consistent and confident from your side)..

@@archanabangalore6638 For a fourth grade student, it is difficult to find a coaching institute.. You can enroll the kid in online institutes like BYJU, Vedantu etc.. (But again, I'll say that just your guidance is sufficient enough for a fourth grade kid to crack olympiads)..

No physics will be asked to a 3rd standard kid. Some basic questions of daily science will be asked. You may refer to Sample Papers in SOF website, to get an overview of pattern.

For Nso, you will have to prepare yourself for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology depending upon your stream. For physics, you can go for HC Verma, and can buy question bank online (some good books are available on mtg.com too). For chemistry, NCERT is sufficient. But be sure here also to solve as many questions as you can. And for Mathematics, (being a PCM student myself), I recommend you to go for RD Sharma.. this book is just amazing.. more than 300-400 questions available for each chapter and those too solved in a very lucid manner. If your are targeting maths for NSO, I think RD Sharma is sufficient.
(In case you are biology student, you should buy some good books online, moreover i don't have much idea about this stream).

For a class 1 student, you need not rely on school-books and all. Just make sure to make him aware of general science, and keep asking him questions on basic science. You can download a sample paper from www.sofworld.org , to get a feel of exam pattern. Good Luck 👍

As per the eligibility criteria of NSO by SOF foundation, students of class 1st to 12th are eligible to apply for the level 1 exam. There is no mention of streams for class 11 or 12 students.
However it is very rare to see an Arts student writing NSO. Yet if you are interested, check out about the registration forms in your school.In my opinion, I think for an Arts student, it is better to go for other olympiads like IEO, IGKO, NCO, etc. Thanks

Hi. First of all, you must be clear with your basics. For that, i suppose you must've already completed ncert (or any of your school book) by now. Next, start solving RD sharma (full, examples + exercises). There is nothing more needed.
(Since you'll start RD sharma now, you may not be able to complete it by December. But don't worry, it'll make a solid base for you, which will be helpful in 10th standard IMO.)

Ya , I am cleared with my basics but i am only left with circles and areas and volumes around 3 chapters left.
And ya i have solved rs Aggarwal and ncert and also right now i am solving rd sharma.
So i have thought of completing my revision work this month and then i will complete the chaptersz left .

No, this exam in conducted in English only.. if you are student of PCMB stream, then you can definitely appear for NSO (where there is a choice between Mathematics section and Biology section.. depending upon your stream, you can choose either of them).
