Q. 23: Correction Alert:
There's a treatment called 'Cobalt Therapy' where radioactive cobalt-60 isotopes were used to treat conditions such as cancer. But that was more prevalent in the 20th century during WWII era and now being replaced with upgraded techniques.
On the otherhand, Radioactive iodine (RAI, also called I-131) is an effective treatment for thyroid cancer patients considering Iodine's ability to kill cancer cells in thyroid gland.
In the options, Iodine 127 was mentioned but we misconceive that for Iodine 131. Sorry for the inconvenience. The correct ans will be option C.

Q# 44 should be option A because home visit is not a component of ICDS.

In the ICDS manual for the year 2017, there is mention about home visit by health workers. Further, home visit by ANM/ASHA/ANGANWADI WORKER to enquire about health of child or pregnant women is a common practice.

We would be happy to have your sources. As the scheme involves an integrated approach, it would be definitely involve visit of the AWW to the households in a case by case basis, thanks to our own experiences. Options D speaks about the training being provided to a child below 6 years of age, which doesn't make sense considering the repurcussions and probable outcome of the exercise. Weighing both the options we made a choice between the option A and D. However, as the option A is not verbatim in the commonly available resources our intuition does drift to that one as you already pointed out. Thus, we believe that there are some element of ambiguity in the options, which will be clear once the official answer key is out. Thanks!
The official answer key is out today. It mentions that home visit is not a component of children below 6 years of age under ICDS. Nutrition and health education is definitely a part of ICDS .

Hi Riku. Your confusion is very valid but there's a difference between 'no of amendments to Indian Constitution' and 'no of Constitutional Amendment Bills introduced in Parliament'.
Total number of constitutional amendment bills(introduced till date) is 126 while the number of constitutional amendment is 104.
103rd Amendment Act is the one related to the provisions for reservation for economically weaker section (EWS) which was introduced through 124th Constitutional amendment Bill.

As we all know, Thomas Babington Macaulay presented his ‘Minute on Indian Education’, more famously known as 'Macaulay's Minute', that sought to establish the need to impart English and western education in India. Those proposals were officially accepted by Lord William Bentinck, but it was Macaulay, who's credited as the originator of those reformations. Whether those proposals were beneficial to the vernacular education and languages is a debate for another day, but we believe Macaulay as the 'Father of modern education'.

Mahiranga Danava is believed to be the first king of Assam, but from pre-historic era, of which any written documentation is not available. Ancient history of Assam can be traced back only to fourth century with the beginning of Varmana dyanasty, of which Pushyavarmana was the founder.
Besides, Mahiranga Danava is not there in the options. Hence according to us, Pushyavarmana should be the correct ans.

There is no mention about cut off marks in the advertisement published by APSC. However, from the scheme of the exam and from examples of previous exams held by APSC, it can be ASSUMED that cut off marks will be the sum of all three papers.

It's very difficult to make a guess about the cut off marks unless officially provided. However, after consultation with many candidates and observing high cut off marks in recent exams, we can safely assume that the cut off will stay in the range 210-250. Low attendance rate is also another factor which might contribute to a significant reduction of the cut off marks. Best wishes, Sadvawana.

For the GS paper, considering the comparitively easier standard of questions, individual cut off may be well within the range of 75-80. But as there are other subjects/papers as well, hence it's not possible to quote an overall cut off at this point.
