I loved to see my Mom without dentures, I think because I knew how much those awful dentures were hurting her. 💕☺️
Love does not care about appearance because we love with our spirit.

I was watching your videos a year ago to try and get the courage to finally get mine done. My dentist has been telling me I needed to do it for over ten years. I pretty much watched yours and another girl who freely made videos without her teeth. I used you as my example "THAT'S ME! I DON'T WANT ANYONE SEEING ME WITHOUT MY DENTURES" I finally got it done a couple months ago.
I did go to work one day a few years ago and at 5am forgot to put my upper partial in. I was talking to a coworker. We were the only two in that early and it dawned on me I didn't have my partial in. I got up, ran to my car, drove home and got it and went back. Bless her heart, my coworker never said a word lol

@@kalinjax watching you and the other girl really gave me the extra confidence to get it over with. I'm not really happy with how impossible it is to eat right now. I'm getting a snap in lower so maybe that will help. But just when I think I can eat semi normal it goes back to impossible, horribly painful and I just get so mad a gorge on ice cream bc I can

@@kctechie Congrats on your journey. I'm two weeks in and I can relate to the eating hard part. I have an Essix retainer with teeth, for the 13 teeth that's missing in the front/top & bottom. You can't really eat with it, so like you, ice cream is my best friend! This will be changed out in about a month to the temporary implant teeth, but basically no eating out unless I want to remove my teeth.

@@eekaye24 yeah I first several meals were mashed potatoes and/or pudding. I couldn't even chew scrambled eggs at first and to try and get protein basically swallowed them in whole. I got tired of mashed potatoes and moved to ice cream. That's a bad move for someone like me that is trying to lose 40 pounds lol.
      Good luck to you also!!

Hi Kristi. I'm 62 and I had to have my teeth removed a few years ago. I really don't care much about what people think, but I decided to get some dentures anyway. The main reason is because I love and miss eating celery sticks and sunflower seeds so much.
Plus, I decided that I miss the gorgeous smile that I used to have. I went to Aspen Dental to get the Comfilytes last week. I'm supposed to get them this week. I hope that I have good luck with them. Thanks for all of your great videos.

@@angelaschaefer5883 I don't like them. They look and feel great, but I can't eat anything with them. The bottoms are the problem - it doesn't take much to get them loose. I also hate messing with adhesive.
I might go in and get bottom implants so that they snap in. If the bottoms stay in well with snapping them in, then I may get implants for the top dentures next year.

I guess I’m considered a bridge wearer, however, my 4 front teeth (and a couple of random ones) are what’s missing. I got them pulled Friday at the oral surgeon and then went right over to the dentist I just started going to, to get my temporary bridge put on. I work in a bank and my customer/friend is the dental assistant there. I took a quick peek when doing a gauze change in the car, but I told her that she is the only friend that will ever see me without those teeth in!! I didn’t even want see myself! I’m 5 days into this journey, but so far, so good. I’ve been in quite a bit of discomfort, but even my temps are beautiful! My front teeth were pretty crooked and I have health issues and take meds and the combination has deteriorated my teeth. This is only the beginning for me. You’ve been so helpful and have made things less scary. Thank you for being you!! P.S. I have always hated smiling because of my teeth and now I practice my new smile all day lol

Congratulations on your journey! I had my extractions 10 days ago and I was the same, did not want to look at them. I had to later that night, because I had to take out the retainers/teeth. I looked as quickly as possible, while squinting my eyes and made it through without becoming nauseous. However, the next day as the bleeding had lessened, I noticed that I was becoming more comfortable and decided to just look and get it over with. It's kind of like jumping into a cold pool as opposed to walking slowly in. :))

Aww..thank you! My temporary bridge is actually fixed and cemented onto my 2 k9's, so I don't have to see myself without those teeth! I went today as I have odd puffiness and sure enough, I have some ulcers on the roof of my mouth near the gums and on the gums. That happened on a molar that was pulled a few months ago. He just told me to brush with a baby tooth brush in that area. Dental assistant gave me a baby Winnie the Pooh toothbrush lol. Thank you for sharing your journey and good luck!!

Forgetting your dentures at home: That's when you find a very handy new use for your pandemic mask. ;)
Like Kristi, I've never let my boyfriend see me without my teeth. And stars bless 'im, he's never asked to, either. :)
Fortunately, he falls asleep earlier than I do, which gives me time to escape to the bathroom, clean 'em up and get 'em soaking before I climb into bed. And also fortunately, I usually wake up early in the morning to use the potty--and that's when I pop 'em back in. And he's none the wiser.
The nice thing is, though: I don't think he'd care even if he did see. I think most people are like that, too. As we've heard here on this channel: You are more than your denture.
Still and all, we all have our own comfort boundaries, and there's no need to feel pressured into readjusting yours to fit what everyone else is doing.
And if your boundary lies outside the line of letting your sig fig see you toothless, there are so many ways to make it work simply by being open and honest with your person and coming up with a "system." It's amazing--and heartening--to experience how kind and accommodating people can be. :)
Thanks for another great video, Kristi!

    100% personal preference.
I'm 2 years in, and while I haven't show a picture on open social media, more of my friends and family are learning that I got dentures. Right now I'm having some fitment issues, so my teeth are out more often than they're in. My family is 1000000% supportive and want me to be comfortable.
I also go to the store without my teeth pretty frequently. Nobody has been the wiser, nobody has even questioned me. I've actually had the camera on for work meetings from time to time without teeth. Nobody had a clue.
Don't construe this as guidance or a recommendation please, it's only my perspective on MY dentures. You need to be comfortable both mentally and physically.

I’m a 61 year old man who has never worn dentures, and probably won’t need to, but I really appreciated your attitude in this, the 2nd video of yours I’ve seen. I laughed at myself because I had thought after the 1st video, I wonder what she looks like without her dentures in? I’m pretty sure I don’t have a “weird” thing for wondering this, although I do find the idea of someone having a fetish like this is pretty strange (to say the least). I think my curiosity was just seeing how big a difference there would be, because you have a very pleasant face, and I just cant picture you without teeth. But I totally get why you have this as a boundary, and I totally respect it. My own “private thing” is I could never be sick at my stomach (throwing up) anywhere close to where my wife was (who’s a nurse). I didn’t want her to see me, or hear me. Then after several years of marriage, I’m at the hospital with a very painful kidney stone. The cocktail they shot into me gave me a feeling of pure bliss, BUT it made me nauseated. So, the nurse hands me a basin; and when I’m starting to throw up, my wife enters the room! She said I had the most pleasant look on my face, like Pepe Le Pew when he sees a female “skunk”. I casually filled the basin and smiled proudly at her, and she immediately busted out laughing. She still cracks up to this day thinking of my loss of “modesty”, (but I still can’t do it in front of her “sober”. ) Anyway, hope my story and comments didn’t weird you out! You really are doing a great thing for people who will be, or already are, dealing with dentures. I think it’s courageous enough to put yourself out there, without crossing your own comfort level. Take care!

LOL! I do the same thing! I wait until my bf’s asleep before I take them out, and I get up before him or my kids to put at LEAST my top one in. I won’t talk or let my bf see me without them, he always tells me he won’t think differently and he loves me for me…still won’t do it lol. Hell, I still have trouble calling them a denture. I usually will point to my mouth and say “I need to go fix these” or “these are irritating me”. I feel like I have to accept it before I can accept him seeing me without them.
With that being said, We recently moved to NC and I’m trying to break out of my comfort zone I locked myself in when we lived in NY. I made strides and started posting my crochet items for sale, which has been a personal goal of mine for over a year now, and allowing myself to be put out there for potential judgement, luckily it hasn’t happened, but it’s nerve wracking every time.
As for my dentures tho, for right now, I agree. I’m still not comfortable but I’m hoping I’ll get to that point that I’m ok with at least him seeing me once in a while without them.
Thank you for making this video and validating our feelings concerning not wearing our teeth in front of people, even our significant other. 💜

It makes me feel full of doubts and scared... Feel like my love life has ended without even starting it :-( I think this is even harder to deal with when you are at a young age :-(

@@estrellapaz5903 you can DEFINITELY do all the things u did with natural teeth when u have full dentures, it just depends on YOUR comfort level. For me, it didn’t happen overnight and I had the same worries u have, but trust me no one knows they’re fake and that actually makes me smile bigger lol. My teeth were doomed since birth because I was on so many medications as a baby, this has been an uphill battle for the majority of my life, and now that I’ve won that war, I’m stuffing my face like I haven’t gotten to do for 2 1/2 years (hell, I barely ate for so long, I actually lost weight and I’m not even 100lbs soaking wet lol), I smile with confidence, my oldest is THRILLED mommy smiles in pictures now, and I’m not in pain or sad or dreading the next time I have an abscess…it’s done. It’s gone.
When u go on a date, don’t tell them right away, they need to earn that trust from u for that type of honesty. If later on after u tell them they still can’t accept it, show em to the door! Lol someone that shallow can hit the pavement. everything will be OKAY, I promise, the journey may seem overwhelming and scary, but it is soooo worth it, my dear! 💜

Why should you ever have to show someone something like that, that's a personal thing. I'm in the camp with you, I had to make the decision to finally have all my teeth removed although much later in life, but I battled my tooth health since I was very young. I stumbled on your videos and really appreciate them. So keep the awareness up for those that are going to go through the challenges of what you have to go through, and options available.
Implants are expensive, even for snap in which I'm starting with, lucky I have upgraded dental insurance so I was able to afford those, but I will see how they work out. Maybe I will move to non removable . The most important thing is the information that you provide to others who face the same situation.

To each her/his own. I'm older (in my early 60s) and shall get full dentures soon. In my opinion the only way to be comfortable is to let all relatives and co-workers know that I'm in the process of getting dentures. And not to be embarrassed if anyone sees me without teeth. The need always to hide the fact that I don't have my own teeth anymore would be much more distressing to me. And never being in front of my wife without my dentures would be an absolutely no-go for me. We love each other and if I would be shy in front of her without teeth this would be ridiculous. I would even give her a b... job without my dentures because of the much better feeling for her and me. By the way, I always hated masks and I'm more than glad, that this sh.. is over now. Nobody gets me wearing a mask voluntarily. There is absolutely no reason to be embarrassed without teeth in public. I live in a country in Central Europe and in our saunas people must be totally nude inside (only with a long towel on the bench). My wife and me go together so only mixed saunas are suitable for us. There are men with long and short d...s, women with large and small br....s. and even a woman with a mastectomy and a man with an ostomy. Should these people never go to a sauna again because of their bodies? No! Should I hide my mouth without teeth under a mask? No again. Period!

I had sinus lift and bone grafting last April. I was given dentures for the time period between then and implants, BUT I was told to use them as little as possible to increase chance of bone grafting working. It's been hard, but I have become use to it (I have my bottom teeth) so people see them when I talk. I am counting the minutes until my implants are put in. I am wondering what you did prior to getting the implants.

I actually discussed this with my husband prior to uploading and decided I’m probably going to bring him back on the channel to talk about that. Like we specifically talked about how if something beyond my control were to happen and I had to go without teeth, how would he feel about it. We both agreed in those situations, it is what it is, and he’s going to love me and support me through it. I would have to make peace with it the same way I had to make peace with becoming a denture wearer. But if I can avoid it, I will. I hope you get it all sorted soon! What I find weird after getting my immediate dentures (top only) 2 days ago, is that they’re mostly fine already. Not painful, not bad - I already forget that I’m wearing them often - but - every so often I get really aware of them. Same as how of you suddenly get aware of your tongue.
That’s the only time I’m like ‘ok. Time for a quick rinse.’ Just as an excuse to remove them for 1-2 mins and then I’m pretty much immediately ‘unaware’ of them again.
The other thing I don’t like is that the teeth in my immediate are smaller than my own, in height, and depth, so my lips aren’t as supported as I think they should be. I hope the new one in a few months corrects this.
If you have time, can you Let me know if you’ve experienced that?

Ha they said nothing they were like shell shocked. Then one got up and said what I was thinking and said we should be ashamed it's not her hair cut Tamara or your teeth even though my God outstanding they you look but you are a beautiful woman inside and you aren't bad on the out either. She shamed them but I said to them all my sister gifted me my smile and a hair cut and that's something I can never repay her back but it will I'm prove my health and that was 1.and number 2 my looks then I turned and went out to do my job,and my friends stood up and clapped there hands.I just smiled all the way to my work area and did my job.

You might want to look into dental implants or taking your own stem cells and regrowing your teeth. They are already doing that in many countries there is information if you go to other search engines that are private in India Singapore israel. Takes 9 weeks.
Also praying that they bring it forth there was an East Indian doctor that was going to bring it into law senegales mexico. Because those dentists training in the USA and other countries and it's they take debit credit some International insurance payment plans and make deals and it's some of the clinics are way better than in the us.
