Something to note is when in "B" mode, once your foot leaves the accelerator, it activates the brake lights. So keep that in mind as it can be confusing to drivers on the road. I find "D3" the most practical mode to use heavily and consistently, "D3" doesn't activate the brake lights but serves as a nice brake assist.

I just purchased an egolf and have probably watch a hundred egolf videos. You’re the first one to recommend adjusting the temperature +/- 1 degree - not to use the absolute coldest/hottest.

Why wouldn't you just put it to the temperature you want to be, like 70 degrees? It's going to automatically switch from heat to a/c to stay near that temperature, not output 70 degree air. Putting it near there max seems like it'd make it way too hot or cold unless you're constantly moving that knob around manually.

I set the temp and leave it in auto mode year round. Sometimes in the fall or spring I may have to adjust up or down a degree or two.

How did you install spare battery in the car. What is the size of the tire you used for the spare.

Just got an e golf, also from MN 😁 how do you get both front and back cameras to record? Or did you buy a dash cam?

U need a dash cam :) the back camera flips out from the VW badge at the back! So it would be useless for recording while driving normally

What’s the max range on this e golf

Depends how you drive. But if you're very conservative and drive slowly in great weather conditions not going uphill, you'll get around 200km. Speeding in crappy weather (cold + rain) on a highway will reduce it to between 140 - 160km in my experience

Been looking at a second generation one. Besides battery size do you know I'd there're any other difference s?

I think it is just the battery and depending what version you get, "SEL" in the US or "Executive Edition" in most of the EU has leather seats and a virtual cockpit, it's just comfort features more than anything

You must be new to electric cars. Don’t shit on technology you don’t understand. And no, I’m not an e-golf owner nor a VW fanboy.

My 2017 e-Golf had no problems getting 160miles although rated at 125. Just like a gas car your range will vary with how you drive.

Sounds like it needed a new chip.. my husbands wasnt getting the range he should. Then it went kaput. But they updated the cpu chips (or whatever they are) and he gets 145 in the winter 160 in the summer. Because yes, temperature absolutely affects how the car runs.
