This is great information. I live in a motorhome full-time and we have a nice tiny, but roomy shower that creates a lot of steam in the area, which is perfect for my low porosity hair.
I have the same hair type as you! Finally !! I’m Arab, I have pale skin but Afro curly hair just like yours. My whole life I thought my hair looked dry, messy, ugly and will never look Kempt, presentable until I discovered finger coiling. It’s literally life changing !! You should try finger coiling. Your hair will look glossy, feel soft and look good so good trust me ❤
Keziah your hair like mine looks VISIBLY different now that you know what it needs. For me it was nearly 10 years of trial, error and A LOT of frustration!! 😩 But I am SO glad I didn't give up!! My hair is now soft, shiny, well moisturised, and the compliments are just an added bonus. 😊😄 Thank you so much for going over these really useful tips. I learnt them all through personal experience.
Btw my hair doesn't like oil as a sealant, so when I'm not using gel I will then use a slighter thicker cream, and I'm so surprised that it actually works. Recently I bought Bridgeo chia coil custard and my hair loves it! After applying my liquid leave-in, and Shea moisture Curl enhancing smoothie, I 'seal' with that on top and my hair loves it. (I have thick, high density 4a coils).
With Low porosity hair why can’t you use a heavier oil for to seal. I understand using a lighter oil to penetrate but after you have used your liquid products to moisture what’s the difference between using a cream to seal bs a heavier oil to seal?
I love Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic as my go to gel. I have just started using Innersence shampoo and conditioner and so for really like them. I have used twice so far.
Not greasy🤣😹 Excellent informative video! I always go as light as possible on my hair, light oils and save heavier butters normally for my twists. Your hair is gorgeous💚
Keziah I love you!!!! I think this information is going to save my life 😆 (well more my hair. 🤣). I'm almost there in my journey, but coz I have coarse dense coils, and my hair can be frizzy, I have ALWAYS bought products in tubs, but my hair is still dry afterwards if I don't use gel. So I think that's where I'm obviously going wrong. So now I'm gonna start experimenting with milks and see how I get on. I get excited now at the prospect of trying new things, instead of being fed up and frustrated. So for me that's progress! 😄 It truly is a trial and error thing. I've been going through your videos with a pad and pen so I'm feeling VERY confident that my 'journey' is nearly ending. 🙃 I appreciate all that you do. I can see that all that you say is working with your own hair. 🤗 It looks great. 😉 Thanks ever so much.

Very true...using thick product or too much cause product buildup instantly. I try to use more watery (but cream) based leave in.
Excellent low porosity tips. Thank you!!!

This is the only gel that doesn't cause breakage in my hair.
