I brought the perfect trekking backpack for you today...for those fleeing civilization, trekking gurus, step counters, quiet nature seekers, and vibram sole wearers. And of course also for all InterRailers, package tour haters, local public transport junkies, and those who do their laundry at Mom's house.
It's the TATONKA Yukon.
The list of equipment details for the backpack is so impressive and so long that in all likelihood you wouldn't even want me to go through the whole list. But I will start anyway.
First, the most important thing about the backpack: the carrying system. The important components are not even visible. Two aluminum hollow profile braces are primarily responsible for transferring the load from the backpack to the hip belt.
Two additional braces guide the load to the hip belt.
The hip belt itself is 3D-shaped and plate-reinforced.
The shoulder straps are ergonomically shaped, and of course comfortably padded.
Like most backpacks of this kind, it is divided into a bottom compartment, main compartment, and cover flap.
There's a large pocket on the front for fast access to maps and similar items.
Two hand grips, one on the front and one on the back, make it easy to handle the backpack when it is not being carried.
On the front and on the side there are two extremely long and robust daisy chains for easy attachment of additional equipment.
There are compression straps on the sides so you can reduce the backpack's volume from the back as well as from the bottom.
Unlike a lot of our competitors products, the strap runs entirely under the trekking backpack and is therefore long enough to attach a trekking mat or thermal mat.
In addition, the TATONKA Yukon has the usual slash pockets on the side made of an elastic material for attaching tent rods or similar items.
Important: the TATONKA Yukon has a seamless bottom made of robust CORDURA® material.
There is a rain cover in the cover flap. And last but not least, the best feature of the trekking backpack is the huge front access. This makes the TATONKA Yukon attractive for those who don't even go hiking but use the sturdy backpack as a suitcase when traveling.
A very sturdy and lockable YKK 10 mm zipper provides a huge all-around opening for accessing the main compartment.
I can't show you the most important feature though, because you have to try it and experience it for yourself: the fit of the trekking backpack.
The padding and the overall shape of the back side is designed to contribute to how relaxed or comfortable you can carry a loaded trekking backpack while traveling.
Just like with hiking shoes, with trekking backpacks there is also a wide variety of well-made products that just don't fit everyone.
The decades of experience and the resulting expertise in making backpacks that is built in to every TATONKA Yukon, as well as the continuous improvement to details, cannot be copied so easily.

Haha sehr nice! Das Video hat mich sehr angesprochen, und hat mir die Entscheidung zwischen Deuter und Tatonka schon mal erleichtert! Anschließend einen Blick auf die Tatonka Webseite - direkt auf das Open Factoring gestoßen. Wie überragend ist das denn bitte? Spätestes da war die Entscheidung gefallen...ich wusste ja gar nicht, dass Tataonka fair herstellt und dann auch noch in dem Ausmaß transparent! Ich freue mich umso mehr auf meinen neuen Rucksack! :)
