    I'm a retired Fish Pathologist in Oregon U. S. A. and if
netting continues, there won't be a future for Atlantic Salmon!! Here we have large returns of Pacific Salmon, and even at that, commercial netting can not be done, without destroying the future of salmon, and as for fish farming the farm-raised, Salmon are of very poor quality!! However Salmon farming is not to be confused with our State and Federal Steelhead and Salmon as we generally end up with high quality salmon. Pseudo intellectuals who Criticize our Steelhead and Salmon Hatcheries are simply ill informed!! I personally caught Skamania Summer Steelhead State fish hatchery origin, that may very well be the World Record Fly caught Steelhead (over 40 pounds). And sadly due to illness, I haven't listed it with IGFA yet!!😮

An oceanologist in the UK said that due to over fishing there will be no big fish in the oceans in thirty years time either.
