In a superhero origin tale unlike any other, the film is the incredible true story of what inspired Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston to create the iconic Wonder Woman character in the 1940's. While Marston's feminist superhero was criticized by censors for her 'sexual perversity', he was keeping a secret that could have destroyed him. Marston's muses for the Wonder Woman character were his wife Elizabeth Marston and their lover Olive Byrne, two empowered women who defied convention: working with Marston on human behavior research -- while building a hidden life with him that rivaled the greatest of superhero disguises.

Refreshing to have a movie where the romance is not centered around an idealized grasping for a monogamous relationship.
For me the movie lost the plot the second the young blonde gave birth. Babies are just so terminally boring. I got better things to do than see these egotists try to work out domestic task-sharing even if the home arrangement is a little out of the ordinary.
I want Alonso's T-Shirt so badly.

Truth is the operative word for both this biopic and the source material this is based on. It will undoubtedly engender criticism from those whose sexual preferences are rooted in postwar/Freudian psychology but that is the risk this film takes to tell the story as Truth. Those too immature to handle this need to steer away from this and go back to their retro-fantasies about 20th century American ideals and mores. Good job WTF!
PS; i Read the book that Matt mentioned last year and am proud to say it did enlighten me a lot about why Wonder Woman has survived in print and media for over 70 years. And no, I don't quite understand what polyandry is but it is not for me to judge the sexual preferences and personal lives of others. But I do love Wonder Woman in 2017!

I just saw this movie! its beautifull! it shows the life of 3 people loving eachother and in particular what both woman mean to the guy! both their characters combined create wonder woman and me not knowing the comic as an european. found it insightfull in seeing where she came from.
Its a must watch for sure! 9/10!
The wife is just so egotistical and narcissistic, I got rather tired of her after a time. And the young blonde one, she's cute and all that, but hardly enchanting enough to start your own personal revolution over.
Two things:
1) I had no idea Luke Evans was gay, and it literally changes nothing about my opinion of him.
2) I hate Trump as much as any body at this point, but I still wouldn't endorse Alonzo's shirt.
I can't stand Trump but can you imagine if someone wore a t-shirt with Ted Nudget punching Obama?

most famously she played Commodus' sister Lucilla in Gladiator. She's pretty sublime with all that regal finery, ermine-lined cloaks and what not.
While I too admire Alonso's shirt, who here would not be even more attracted to the sight of a golden lasso around that imaged individual instead of him just taking a hit.

I remember seeing the trailer for the first time while watching Saturday Night Live, and for a few seconds I wasn't sure it was real. I knew the story behind the making wounder woman, but I never thought they make a movie about it.

Its supposed to be a reference to Superman punching out Hitler (a classic image from the mid 40's) and from what I read it is supposed to be both images are Fascists who think they are the good guys while oppressing people being knocked out by the epitome of what they spent their life looking for (Hitler and his Uberman and Trump a sexy young woman dressed provacatively) rising up to take them down.

The writing and dialog in this movie is so just so on-the-nose and overly direct. There's very little in the way of subtext and subtlety. It doesn't win you over with intrigue, it keeps bashing you over the head with manufactured plot points interspersed with hysterical outbursts. Nobody in this movie knows how to wait a tic, to simmer down, reconsider. Overall the film lacks grace and finesse. It's a solid B- movie. Couldn't make it through to the end, I'd rather just take a bath and go to sleep.
