Thanks - this is a really useful video. I have an 2019 A4 40 TDI - with the DL382 DSG box. The ATF side has been changed every 40k miles, but never the MTF side (and as far as I know, Audi provides no schedule for this). I plan to get mine changes after 165k miles!
It is tight in there. I used a T60 and then put an open end wrench on the T60 bit portion in front of the 3/8” socket end. This is the one I used www.autozone.com/screwdrivers/driver-bit/p/oemtools-3-8in-drive-t-60-star-socket/246381_0_0?cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:TLS:19489353547&&CATARGETID=120054150001573208&CADevice=m&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVt5zrrbjPDOUKo_LYuZacJED&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9e6eqrvThgMVl19HAR2nmAKEEAQYAiABEgLFCvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Hello, very good video mate. I got the question, if you can answer please. I got same gearbox I guess in my audi a6. And today I started to change my pinion bearing. As could not found nowhere to release oil I decided to remove pinion cover and about 2.5 maybe 3 l come out. My question is, is that oil same for gearbox/differential? Tomorrow I will remove pump and if not much oil comes out tham must be the case. Thanks
@@gojkotrbuk6492 thanks! After looking at the factory manual, if you removed the differential cover and fluid came it, it should have been the MTF fluid. If you want to be sure, checking how much drains out after removing the pump is a great idea.
Brilliant video 10/10. You make it look so simple i might have a go at this myself in the spring.

@@nickbeloff7307 glad to hear it was helpful!
Fluid needs to be changed both sides. Filters needs to be changed with every 2nd oilchange on the clutch side, so every 120k Kms.
They can be changed independently. I did the DSG service a few weeks before this and needs to be changed every 40k miles.
Hi @natesgermangarage do you know what weight or specific oil I need for the MTF side? I just did the DSG/mechatronic oil change
Not sure the weight, but the fluid is G055549A2
@@nates2243 Thanks! Just confirming, is this the same oil as the rear differential? I believe it is.
When I did my rear differential I used G055190A2 fluid.
@@cj40201 For rear differential use G 055 190 A2 for QBZ/RZV (670ML) and G 060 190 A2 for QTG/SBW/SBX/SNK/TJQ (960ML)
Is there an alternative to G055549A2? would 75W90 Gear oil GL4 rated work?
interesting enough, my 2017 B9 Allroad spec for the MTF(according to the dealer) is G052549A2, I wonder what the difference is?
Nates nice video, but I tried unscrewing the screw but I can't push the key in at all. What dimension did you use with the torx 60?

Thanks for your Video, but i have One question: Isn‘t it 3,8L of the MTF Oil?
I Drive an A4 B9 2.0TDI 190Hp 2016
It is just under 4L capacity. Stop filling once it starts coming out.

Thanks for replying! What is oil specification? Can I use castrol or any other quality brand? As price in uk is £60 for a one litre. 😄
Is this for manual transmission only ?? or it can be used on automatic transmission as well Thanks
This is for the B9 DSG transmission. This transmission has an MTF side and an ATF side. This tutorial is for the MTF side.
Is it necessary or recommended to do gearbox adaptation after MTF change ?
no
I filled this circuit up with liqui moly 8100 double clutch oil, i guess its wrong?
Yes, that circuit needs MTF. Drain it immediately and fill with the proper fluid.
Is the pump gasket not replaceable?
I have not been able to find a part number for the pump o-ring, without buying the entire pump.
Hi, need VCDS to do this or no?
??
No . Just drain the oil out , refill with the new one and that’s it
This is mtf oil. With atf oil can you make a tutorial ?
Sorry for the delay, I have one that’s currently being edited that I will post shortly.
@@natesgermangarage When you will upload the video with ATF oil change ?
