I'm not gonna stop you from bullying eugen, because they deserve it and any competition they can get neither am i going to do a 50 page rebuttal of every point made like comparing WARNO to red dragon okay, what is steel division then but red dragon with a re-skin and if you think about it what is red dragon but command and conquer or world in conflict with a re-skin. It is of course indisputeable that broken arrow is more sophisticated game by gameplay mechanics.
However what i don't get, and what i have seen from others too is this blind faith in broken arrow and saying WARNO is dead, unless you are a closed beta tester of broken arrow and you know big unannounced things and the game is totally different technically now than when it was in open beta i think it's very early to say it is the saviour of the genre, it was definitely more broken and less arrow when i played the open beta for 40 or so hours, did we play the same game at all? And the actual achilles heel of broken arrow being a unity based game of all things and having only one game mode we have seen so far. I sincerely hope steelbalalaika can make it work but i fear the games optimization is impossible due to its game engine.

I see this perspective in the forums all the time. "The game that isnt out yet is way better, you just wait!"

Disclaimer: I am a Eugen fanboy. I started at RUSE, terrible multiplayer game imo.
Less of a review, more of a shallow subjective rant. Even you admit at the end that it is a rant so why call it a review in the title? You earned my dislike for that.
I have played Broken Arrow and it is quite fun, to an extent. I'm afraid Broken Arrow might become really boring after the meta sets in, it happend to me and I went straight back to WARNO. I do have to admit Eugen has gotten lazy over time and I feel competition from Broken Arrow is actually good for them.
But Broken Arrow won't make people abandon WARNO because it isn't targeting the main WARNO player base, the 10v10 crowd. It can't target that, afaik nothing can because nothing is optimised enough to handle that many units and players on one map except Eugen's Iriszoom engine. Last RTS I saw go over 20 players on one server is actually pre-alpha Stormgate.
I do have to admit Army General needs work. But I don't play it, I'm mainly a 10v10 player. Operations were actually quite fun.
Eugen has sacrificed gameplay for realism. That's why there is no airdropping from aircraft, strat bombers, and forward deployment is like that. That is something only someone with IRL military experience can truly appreciate. Even Eugen has admitted that many things that make Broken Arrow fun (strat bombers, airdrops) are out of scope for WARNO.
Oi, I like to play TKS. I've beaten A tier divisions on open maps with TKS. Infantry is actually more OP in WARNO than you care to admit or have experienced, way more OP than WGRD. Grind 10v10 until lvl 20 and you'll understand.
I think the price tag is because the game is made in France and they have to get paid according to French laws which are f**king brutal in terms of that. But I think the 10v10 alone is worth the base price.
WARNO has it's faults but you won't go bashing the game like this without a lengthy counter comment from me. You are welcome to invite me to argue in voice chat if this makes you emotional enough.
