I have a Mom secret for kids who won't get out of bed in the morning. When they won't get up tell them that they must not be getting enough sleep so that night you will be going to bed a half hour earlier, and stick to it. It's not being a mean Mom, you have no choice but to do this. If that half hour earlier doesn't work, tell them it will be another half hour earlier the next night and stick to it. At least try it for a whole week and see if you get a results. You have so much on your shoulders already, starting school days with that fight should not be another source of stress for you, and honestly for them. And also...your house is wonderful!! Yes worked on my kids they all learned very quickly that if they want to be a “big kid” and stay up they need to get up in the mornings. We set an alarm to remind up who ia going to bed 1/2hr earlier that week & it worked. I think my boys having to go to bed at the same time as their little sister (4yr & 6yrs younger) it hit them.
It’s actually more effective as they get to the 6-14 age because that is when they REALLY start to want that “big kid) stay up after the younger ones go to bed So keep at it Kim!! Your kids are only just starting to come into the age that it REALLY starts to work on them. Need to get them into that understanding that they NEED to be able to get up when asked before those high-school years kick in cos they get even WORSE!!

Kim, you can get a new shower head that can come off and just install it yourself. That’s what we did. I’m totally trying to catch up on cleaning to after being sick too! It took us all out!
You can always change out your shower fixture for a handheld one I just did mine again. Waterpik brand is awesome.
It is bitter-sweet watching your babies grow up, but if they didn't it would be so sad! Also, after the kiddies are grown you may have the opportunity to watch your grandchildren (and in my case even your great-grandchildren, grow!)💜💜💙💙
Your children won’t remember that they grew up in a house not perfectly organized but they will remember all the time you spent with them and have great memories and a foundation for life that is built on love!

Hi Super Mom!! Wanted to let you know that peel and stick wallpaper is a Beautiful option. There are so many patterns and very easy to put up/place/replace and take down. Also, re: No handheld faucets in bathroom shower new addition. Amazon has a hose that hooks to your existing faucet, that’s removable to spray the tub and shower surrounding.

I do bulk cooking on the weekend. I make a big batch of pancakes/waffles and freeze them for the week. My kids also love homemade French toast sticks (i use a cinnamon Splenda blend on top). Super easy and cheaper than store bought. Then bacon or sausage and fruit! All the food can be cooked in a bulk session so all you have to do is warm it up in the mornings!

Another tip I learned from a friend is an empty computer paper box in each child's closet to put papers from school in. I will take out of the bottom occasionally and no one is any the wiser. This way they know their things are important and relieves the paper clutter!!

Kids do not know what they have not been taught. The kiddos have their own spaces, why does your bathroom have to be a disaster from them and that would be one less mess if they were taught not to be in there destroying everything. They have their own bathroom, they have their own bedrooms and yet theirs are a constant mess and you let them make all your spaces a mess.. Make life easier.
You watch youtube channels all the time and there are “PLENTY” of families with many children and this doesn’t happen. The kids are happy, and they aren’t broken because their parents taught them how to keep spaces clean, putting things back where they belong. They have taught them life skills that need to be taught in a loving way, since they have to learn life skills to live in their own homes someday.
This would make less spaces you have that are destroyed.
Having structure is so good for kids to have. Plus it is easier on Mom & Dad too and everyone is happier.

Kim I would swithch the mail drawer for the bottom of the cabinnets were you have the water bottles and put different baskets labels ie, stements, bills etc. And the water bottles in the drawer lying down were its easy to acess and no venting down.

Kim, hire someone to put wallpaper up in the bathroom. If you don’t do it right the steam will make it peel if the wall. Know from experience. I had to have mine all removed and hired a professional. Worth it!
Also, painting cabinets….they have to be cleaned, taped off, labeled, hinges removed and lightly sanded b4 the fun starts. They really need to be sprayed the cabinets and the doors. Unless you use the new paint/can’t remember the name that self levels the brush strokes. Never tried it….

I'm 62 my kids have been out for at least 20 years. My home is slightly more organized. My mind wants it done but my body can't keep up. I'm also really busy with my grands thankfully. So I'm like what ever. :)
I have a file drawer in my kitchen. You can just put the rack in a normal deep drawer and add your files. It has been a game changer to keep bills, kids stuff, and whatever organized. I never loose bills anymore because they have a home .
My husband makes protein pancakes and waffles in mass amounts once a week and we keep them in the fridge and toast them! I guess you could freeze them too if you make enough
I have 5 easy breakfasts that I put on rotation for school mornings. Banana sundaes (half a banana with yogurt, sprinkles and granola) muffins with yogurt or fruit, fruit and yogurt, pancakes or mini waffles with fruit and/or Nutella, and cereal on Fridays. I switch up the days and put a few sprinkles to make it special if they get bored. Hope this helps someone!

You do a great job to have 5 young children a big home and do all that you do for your family and others. One thing I have found in my 71 years of life is that having less makes our life easier. Take for instance, shopping bags. If you just have 3 then it is so much easier to put 3 away than 10. You understand what I am saying? So less is more as far as keeping track and keeping it organized.
I had to make it my kids' responsibility to wake up in the morning. They have to have their own alarms. They were relying on me to get them moving last minute and it was sooo frustrating! Now mornings are a little easier.

I would love drawers on a linen closet. And IDK why, but it feels so good for you to say it's ok to keep stuff. I feel guilty that I can't declutter to the extent that minimal mom does. And yes, we would still be your party ppl with your sick voice😉
Use 1/2 Vinegar 1/2 Dawn leave it on the shower or bath for 1 hour, it will wipe all the soap scum and mildew(mold ) right off. I love watching you, your a great mother and cleaner.
Drawers. My linen I added those ikea drawers people use in office. I throw twin sheets pillow case in. Sunscreen bandages etc

Do what you can as you can. If you can get outside for five minutes to feel the wind and sun and rain on you every day, that is an excellent start. Soon it will be for ten minutes, and you might even walk up the street for five minutes, back for five minutes. I do know this works for CD. Bless you.💜
You can add a removable head. That’s what we did.
I normally clean the toilet the opposite way you do. I use warm water from the faucet instead of the toilet bowl - and I clean elements that are high touch first and work my way down to where elements are more likely in contact with things we don’t speak of. Cleaning bowl to lid, you take those germs everywhere…

I do waffles, choc chip banana muffins, blueberry muffins and freeze them. They are all gluten free for my son. He just pulls whatever he wants that day and either pops it in the toaster or microwave for the muffins. He said they all taste the same as if they were made fresh. I also do homemade biscuits and put them in a ziploc. Then I will do gluten free sausage gravy and put it in a bowl in the fridge. He can reheat the biscuits in the microwave and the gravy. Easy peazy. My favorite breakfast are smoothies. I have been making them in batches and putting in small mason jars and freezing them. The night before I just put one in the fridge to thaw overnight. Sometimes I have to eat with a spoon instead of drinking it, but it is like getting ice cream for breakfast. LOL What a treat! You do a great job with all of the kids and keeping your house straight. My house is smaller and I only had 2 kids to deal with and never felt like I had anything together.

We make extra pancakes, waffles, and French toast and freeze them on cookie sheets. Once frozen they can go in gallon bags. Warm up in the toaster.

Agreed, Sterns and Foster is the best! We had one a few years ago but we lost it in the flood of 2016, when it came time to buy a replacement mattress we had to get another brand due to having to buy all new furniture for the whole house. But mark my words, I will get another Sterns and Foster when we buy a new mattress! It’s the best nights sleep! Worth the price! And you do sound so much better! So glad your getting better. I can’t remember if it was this video or another but I came here to tell you not to take your starter too seriously. I use great value bleached all purpose flour to feed my starter. I feed it daily if I bake daily. Otherwise I pop it in the fridge. Feed it when I take it out to bake. It really is so so simple. No timeline or weighing. I just go for a pancake batter consistency.
I have 5 kids and cannot handle much else needing me to stay alive - but sourdough starter I can do!

We just ordered a Nolah mattress and are expecting delivery any day now. We can’t wait! Our current mattress has done its duty for the last 15 years and umpteen moves. Yay for sourdough starter! I just did one a couple months ago after I followed "Farmhouse on Boone". I put it in the fridge to slow it down so I don't have to feed it everyday since I can't make something each day as I work outside the home full time. I have made pancakes, pizza crust, rolls so far and am loving it!!!! Love your videos!!

I can totally relate to the morning/breakfast out the door school rush. I usually either give my littles eggos and breakfast sausage or those pancake sausage corn dog things lol. My 4 year old loves those. I always have gogurt, eggs, whole wheat toast but my girls aren't big on eating eggs.

I think shelving is better as drawers tend to fall of their tracks eventually, at least with shelves you have the option to use baskets or just the shelves.

I try to keep breakfast easy but mostly healthy. I will make small pancakes and waffles for the freezer , I do change up the flavors , right now I have pumpkin waffles made and the pancakes are with flaxseed, cinnamon, and a little bit of almond extract (makes taste sweeter) and a few chocolate chips. I have found my kids absolutely love frozen fruit , mango ,blueberries, dragon fruit, watermelon are favs. Also overnight oats. Or yogurt with granola and a banana. Smoothie and a piece of toast great start to a day ! Love your videos!!!!💕
Kim, just go to Home Depit or Lowes and pick up a shower sprayer attachment. Easy to install. You just take the water head off and use plumbers tape and screw in the shower sprayer. I know your husband or even your wonderful neighbor can do it. Feel better!!!!!!!❤

I will say it might be a little more work but if you do the ikea pac system then hire someone from task rabbit to put it together it’s much cheaper

I do a rotation of breakfasts, our normals are : waffles, eggs and toast, or eggs and sausage, oatmeal with cinnamon toast, bagels with cream cheese, if I’m feeling fancy - English muffin with egg, cheese, precooked bacon from Costco. My kids are weird and don’t like pancakes.

Kim I was also afraid of sourdough I have a covid baby sourdough . It's actually easy to take care of all you have to do is feed it when you want to use it then put it in the fridge and leave it there and leave it there till you want to use it again. Take it out the night before you want to use it feed it then feed it again in the morning use it a little later when it's bubbly.
