Once they love something, they worship it like the bible like how they love season 1 but once season 2 comes along and it’s slightly underwhelming; it become the “WORST” thing and calling it a “FAILURE”.

I don't what exactly was changed but GRR Martin is overly protective of his work and changes needs to be made while going from page to screen. Akotsk works while being faithful because it's a novella, not a gigantic book with most of it who needs to be created from scratch

@daenerystargaryen6302 The Blacks are the followers of Rhaenyra because she wore a traditional targaryen black dress at a banquet once where Alicent showed up wearing Hightower Green.
In the books the Blacks use Rhaenyra's personal banner which quarters the traditional Targaryen banner with those of the Arryns (her mother's family) and the Velaryons (her first legal husband's family). In the show it seems like the Blacks simply use the traditional Targaryen banner, a red dragon of a black field. The Greens in the book used a Gold Dragon on a Black field (Aegon II's personal sigil honoring his dragon Sunfyre) but I think the show changed that to a gold dragon on a dark green field.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is human scale, intimate. Even the Targaryens don't look so impressive in it, but man they were really living at another level in the Fire and Blood times. Such a contrast. The two shows really work well together.

It’s sad to see all the dragons die and go extinct but at the same time the Targaryens deserve it for not realizing until it was too late that without their dragons they’re nothing.
Its kinda cool to see the contrast between shows right now. Also they ruled for quite some time even after dragons so "nothing" is kinda wrong i think :) They ruled for approx 300~ years and half of that time without dragons.

Season 2 should have been Season 2: Chapter 1 and this season can be Chapter 2.
Had they have budget to stick with original 10 eps outlines; it would be as good as season 1 or even better.
However, I do understand the decision and the pivot they have to make in order to tell a cohesive story as a season.
Let's hope this season help re-conciliated with the blue-balled ending of the last season.

its impossible to stick to books that arent accurate in the first place fire and blood isnt like the main series or dunk and egg where its a firsthand account its a third/fourth hand account by biased and unreliable narrators meant to mirror our own unreliable history not a single word in the book is trustworthy

FaB isn't like the other books with fleshed out characters, it can't be like GoT because there's very little decent character writing on George's part

I feel like HOTD is going to be one of those shows where the potential is phenomenal, yet the execution doesn't really hit the mark, which hurts to say because the actors, designs (dragons & costumes) and soundtrack are fantastic. Season 1 was great in my opinion, though season 2 really was a mixed bag with things I loved and things that I really really disliked to put it mildly. Season 3 could change the tides, since the underwhelming outcome of season 2 was partially due to unfortunate inconveniences on HBO's side with restricted budget and what not, although there were mostly questionable writing choices that I did not appreaciate. It's a good thing that there are great channel's like this where one can really appreciate the story and details that are behind this series. So thank you so much for the awesome trailer breakdowns :D

It is not mentioned enough how screwed S2 got by WB/HBO cutting 2 episodes at the 11th hour and the writers strike then happening concurrently. I think that is why pacing and some of the arcs werent satisfying. S3 is going to be great
They also made the show alicent different than the book version. Book version would not sold her sons to the enemy. Also blood & cheese scene also were shit in the show just to make Rhaenyra blameless for it. Ryan Condal want to make his fanfiction instead of following the book version. He deserve the criticism he got for HotD 2.
@shafikah3340 I've read F and B and these criticisms are fair. With Alicent, i dont really know a book accurate alicent that would be compelling. Clearly they made a choice with their relationship (R and A) being so close. I also sympathize there isnt much to go off of and I dont think a rigid villian alicent is that interesting or adds much. Ryan def deserves some criticism, i just guarantee you the season is materially better if all the behind the scenes stuff didnt happen. The writers and producers got shafted

Even though Rhaenyra’s blood line ends up ruling but Rhaenyra her self is not a part of throne succession line Aegon is and you can check that in kings list written by George him self as her son Aegon 3rd becomes king after his unlce Aegon 2nd not Rhaenyra who died at this point
