Also, for those who are interested, the hand formation she is suggesting around 1:50 is the American Sign Language way to say the letter "A" if that helps it be easier for one to remember. :D
Thank you for the lessons. You look like the actress in Titanic. Beautiful instrument -I play guitar and thinking maybe adding the harp. Love the lessons
honestly I just found this video while I was lookin for something else, but I'm interesting on harp too and your techniques is absolutely perfect and good smile.
That was the best request to get a video like, ever. I never “like” videos. I’m a jerk like that. But I liked yours because of that awesome play on words. Your smile was a large contributing factor as well. Please, where is your accent from. I cannot pinpoint it and I will not insult you by making a dumb American guess. Thank you.
@@LearningtheHarp I did not even come close to guessing that. Thank you. And thank you for good instructional videos. I do appreciate them. I’m going to get a harp for my 9 yr old daughter to play and I’m going to use your videos to start her. Thank you and have a great day, Ma’am.
Okay, not going to lie, but your "thumbs-up" technique made me giggle as I tried it because I was amused to learn that it actually works right as you said it would. Lol.
Christy. Can u do classes on lyre harp? I want to play harp like u do but i wanted to start with lyre incase i couldnt do it, since i have bad arthritis.
How much of the fingertips should be placed on the strings? I feel as though my thumb in particular gets hung up and pulls my hand out of position. I also am dealing with a tremor, so I don't know if that is contributing.
I love your videos! I just got for the first time a harp. It's a 22 strings harp. The problem is that two of the strings sound really bad. Like metal vibrating and they are nylon strings. Any idea why? Thanks!
Do people really have to flay their arms way out when playing the harp? I notice a lot of harp players do it. I looks ok with a woman doing it but a man it looks quite odd...
Can confirm giving this video thumbs up magically helps thumb position!😄
🤣👌🏻
really I thought that was a funny joke.
@@LearningtheHarp my daughter Rimi loves your videos

As we practice in the public without making a single wrong note, we will get requests for “gigs”. 😃

Hi! That’s very exciting that you have a new harp! Check that the levers aren’t touching the strings, that can happen.
@@LearningtheHarp Thanks for your help. I was able to fixed them. Thanks!
Funny! Love the "magic" thumbs up if you give the video a thumbs-up. :) Defintely gave this a like.
Just had to give this video a thumbs up for your comment there haha
I do play 🎸 fingerstyle , so it may be similar to how plucking a harp.
Missed an episode? Links to each video in this series are in the description above :)
You’re funny! 😂😉👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
👍
what do i do if my pinkie keeps going up
You could try using an elastic hair tie to keep your pinkie and 4th finger together while you’re practicing. Hope that helps!
