As I often do, I think "what's that look like in VR?" The lights on the wheel are extremely useful as a visual reference on when to shift. The first yellow light pops on at about 6500, 6600 RPMs. Soon as that first yellow light dings, time to shift. Also if you Rev it to the point the red light comes on, that's the exact moment when the power band and torque just craters looking at the game's ECU. Super, super useful when driving this car in first person/VR, maybe one of the best wheel light indicators of when you should shift I've seen in a group 3 car.
I went with the Genesis X and I'm doing really well with that car. I race in VR and the large screen rear view helps me see what's going on behind me for those possible rammers and I remain very consistent in that car with great VR visibility. I've time trialed the Viper which is super fast but tough to drive as is my Manunchoice (Ferrari) and i couldnt get pace in the GTR 18 for all 14 laps. Overall it seems there are multiple viable cars so long as you can remain consistent throughout the 14 lap race. Several p1 s, P2s and 3s with the occasional bad race here and there makes this one of the most enjoyable races this year for me. A huge thanks for the guide, I must say I've made big strides in this game as I couldn't dream of earning P1 multiple times in a week let alone be a consistent top five driver in my lobbies and with the help of drivers like you and putting in the time practicing properly I've really took a knack to this game and it's a great release from the stressors that life and work throw at us. Keep your head up and hope things are going ok with you bud, keep doing what you are doing for the community and know how valuable you are to all of us. Good luck in your upcoming races and see you in the next video or stream.
update: using yellow bollard turn in and 200meter board brake marker , along with minor tuning tweaks suggested in this video, helped knock down my best time from 1:26.350 to 1:26.037 (Euro account). AMPED!!!! previous best global rank for a time trial was 986th at Grand Valley, and this latest Deep Forest time sits currently at 678th!!! hahah so stoked! thanks again for your tutorials!
Great guide, might give this a go as my nismo choice proves to be a bit meh to race others……lately ive been feeling as tho emea drivers r much more aware of minimizing time loss and not fighting too much, might be just me tho…..
I freestyled a porsche setup and its doing pretty well, i came top 300 with just 5 laps but i guess my driving style just suits the car which is annoying me because i want to take different cars. Any suggestions?
I totally feel that. I can say that sometimes the cars we don't wanna drive are the best for us 😂 One thing you can do is try to pinpoint what characteristics make it better for you, and try to get other cars to do the same via tuning, or even by technique. In the end the more time you spend with other cars the better it will get, it's just a grind when it doesn't suit your style.

RAD. this course is so much fun! thank you and great racing for you ✊🏾
Thank you bro! I love this track too 🙌
Just tried the Aston and its Fire!!!! Way faster times for me than the Genesis. Folks who are looking for an alternative should try this car.
It's SO good right? It was my anti meta car until I realized it's as fast as the fastest if not better 😅
What tune are you running i will try it
Thanks again to you..keep ur head up bud..better days ahead!!
Thank you sir!!
Great work buddy. 👍
Thank you Dan!

Thank you sir! I actually have noticed the same thing, maybe it's really happening 🤔
The biggest argument for not battling way faster drivers is to not loose time yourself wich will cost you x positions potentially
Exactly. Better to settle for losing one position rather than 2 or 3.
